Cheap Ps2 controller > X360 converter

Nope, it has to be a fully wired controller, P&C kit won’t work.

What about the headphones? i know the converter itself doesnt have a jack, but what if you kept the 360 controller plugged into the converter and plug the headphones into the 360 controller?

You guys know if this will work with a mayflash 3 in 1 arcade stick?

Does the pressure sensitivity of the L2 and R2 buttons transfter over as L and R triggers? (for games like Forza and GT)

Just got one of the BlazePro converters from SuperUFO this morning. Only had a short time to test it before heading out, but initial impressions were good. Works with the Namco stick and PS2 Saturn pad, with the box set to dance mat. Not tried an analogue pad yet.

Slight oddness with the button mappings, as it maps X to B and O to A. I can see why they’d do that, but it probably causes more problems than it solves. In my very quick testing, I couldn’t detect any obvious lag, though I didn’t do much more than hitting buttons simultaneously on the PS2 pad and a 360 pad plugged into port 2 and checking that the moves came out at the same time. I’ll test it more tonight.

Yesterday I got my Blazepro that I bought for $13 shipped on ebay. It did not come with a box only in a padded envelope with a small cutout of paper for instructions which was confusing as sh*t. I did some testing with a PS1 Namco joystick and 15th anniversary SF 3.5v PS2 stick, there seems too be no lag, and is very responsive BUT it doesnt always register multiple/simultaneous button presses. I could not get akumas ultra/super to come out at all with the Blazepro. I switched to my regular joysticks (Madcatz 360 TE and HRAP ex) and akumas ultra/super comes out perfectly 10/10 times I tried. I will have to do more testing. I am still waiting on the xconverter from Laugh hopefully that will be better.

Mine just arrived a few minutes ago.

Used the tools suggested in the other thread to test for input lag.

Ran the test several times and got 1.92, 1.96 and 2.13.

Tested it quickly on an emulated game and it seemed very responsive.

Will have to test it on a 360 in the next few days, but it’s looking good.

I was using a HRAP when testing.

My biggest concern is with dropped inputs. If it can be confirmed that multiple button inputs and stick inputs work simultaneously with no drops, I’ll buy ten of these bad boys.

Akuma Super/ultra working fine here.
Sadly no headset support but that could be down to epoxy in my headset jack (long story).

This seems more responsive than the Joytech Neo se 360 pad i had padhacked but this could be down to switching the SFAC back to a Dual shock PCB and upgrading to comp stick/buttons tho.

Hey Markman, If you are running it through a gauntlet, please try to include the MC Cthulhu with a PS2 cord in your tests. That way many of us who do dual mods may find this to be a simpler solution.

Just tried to use this again. Plugged the converter with wired 360 pad and HRAP attached to it into the back of my laptop. Instead of just the P1 light coming on on the pad, all four kept flashing.

I then got an error message in Windows saying an attached USB device is malfunctioning. I unplugged it, reseated all the cables and tried again. Same thing.

I unplugged it and restarted Windows. Plugged it back in and same error. I unplugged it, disconnected the wired controller and plugged back in the converter with just the HRAP attached.

Got a message saying new xbox 360 controller found and a few seconds later got the usual message about your new hardware is installed and ready to use.

Fired up an emulator and it worked fine.

It seems in Windows (XP anyway) that you only need to have the wired controller attached the first time you use it.

Given it (the Blazepro converter) some more testing tonight, and I’m not seeing any problems with dropped inputs or non-working combinations of buttons with either the Namco stick or the Saturn PS2 pad.

I’ve even knocked up a quick XNA test app for the 360 to display the state of all the buttons and every combination I’ve tested has been rock solid with no lag that I can detect. The lack of a home button is slightly awkward, but that’s really my only problem with the thing. For the price, it’s really good.

Anymore tests done on these converters? I know Markman was going to give his final verdict soon.

Will be using mine for a casual session tomorrow so will get other people to test it out too to see if they notice any difference.

I posted this in Kyle’s converter thread, was wondering if anyone else experienced this:

I didn’t have a wired 360 controller, but I had 360 rockband stuff, so I plugged in a 360 rockband guitar to act as the wired controller as the bypass security for the blazepro converter but it didn’t work. Has anyone else had the same experience? Does it have to be a 360 controller that is plugged in? It can’t be a 360 drum set or guitar or other USB peripheral that is not a controller?

Do you buy the converter from superufo? i want to buy 2 but i don’t know if that website is safe. And i don’t have a paypal account so i can’t buy one from ebay.

I did some research, and they’re supposed to be legit. I’d get a PayPal account, myself, but straight Visa purchase is doable through them if need be. Be warned, shipping is expensive there.

Thanks for the answer.I see that the shippin is like 15 dlls for the airmail, but i don’t know if they can ship to a po box,i send a email like two days ago and no answer so far.

Sorry for my english T_T

Blazepro’s going for $10 USD (postage included!)…

a few like these floating around ebay. I tried one of them and will test it out once it arrives (if it arrives…)

This particular person do not do Italian however and seems to be quite brash about his selling policies, so I chose another outfit giving the same deal.

Beleive it has to be a pad I tried a steering wheel and it never worked but third party pads do.

This guys legit and ships to Italy http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PS2-controller-to-XBOX-360-converter_W0QQitemZ110417206821QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Accessories?hash=item19b560de25&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14
