Laugh is selling the XConverter360 as well now. Hooray for cheap 360 converters!
so no need to dual mod if you are on a budget? Basically just make a ps2 stick and get this converter?
We’re gonna have to wait and see if it’s good or not. If it lags, it’s not gonna be useful.
That’s the idea, but we’re waiting for some tests to decide whether or not it’s a decent converter. (Damn. Outsped by Nesk.)
But frankly… it’s not just for people on a budget. 360 PCBs ain’t that expensive… it’s all the work that goes into modding one that makes a converter that much more appealing.
@Kyle: I clicked over to the converter thread and didn’t see the XConverter360 in the big list of converters. Do you have a review or anything accessible?
this is laugh’s link on the converter list: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=7242594&postcount=527
hey does anyone know if there is a converter out there for the 360 that lets you use dream cast controllers?
Awesome, thanks. Looks pretty good… good price, even. If this BlazePro or whatever doesn’t pan out, I know what to get and whom to get it from.
so far laughs tests has not revealed any major issues with the converter (no dropped inputs or input lag). MarkMan has ordered one and run it though his gauntlet. Has anyone else had a chance to play with it/test it out?
In laugh’s review it says you can unplug the wired controller once it registers. Anyone know if that will work on this one as well?
-Needs a wired 360 controller to be plugged into the converter prior to plugging it into the console, but once recognized you may unplug the wired controller and it’ll continue to function without any problem including swapping different PS controllers
So anyone received their’s yet?
bought mine from ebay, it’s on the way from hk
This is regarding the XConverter360 that laugh is selling, right… not this Blazepro unit that the OP brought up?
Whatever the case, I purchased the Blazepro unit from a seller on eBay for $12/shipped. I’m hoping it gets here before I move off to school (so I don’t have to have it re-shipped). With any luck, the converter will work quite well. I’ll let you all know of my findings once I have them.
The converter laugh has looks way different than any of the other ones on the market…
i think markman should get a hold of this converter as well and review them head2head!
i think i was refering to laughs, and not OP’s, my bad… i must’ve been tired when i posted that.
anywho, im still anxious to hear about both of these.
Since MarkMan is the man for testing/analyzing things like these… if he wants to do the work, and it’s just a matter of the twelve bucks keeping it from happening, I’d happily throw a few bucks in to get a unit sent his way.
My Blazepro came earlier today and i just had a quick fiddle :).
All buttons work the analog button acts as the guide button but its unable to be used to turn the console on or off apart from that it seems pretty lag-less to me, the 360 pad can be removed once synced and PS pads can be swapped as long as the adpter stays connected.
The side switch is for dance-mats/pads not 360/PS2 like the box suggests.
Pros:
cheap as chips
No noticeable lag (to me anyway)
works with PSX dual shock and madcatz PS2 pad (not had time to test anything else)
Supports Dance Mats (untested)
Cons:
needs piggyback to sync
Can’t switch between 360/PS2
No headset jack.
Excuse my crap reply i just rushed out of bed after remembering i never replied here :D.
Overall for under a tenner including P&P this is a good item IMO.
kooinglimited is who i purchased from shipping took a week to UK.
Is it possible to use the headset if the wired 360 controller is kept plugged in (plug the headset into the 360 controller)? On either the Blazepro or the XConverter?
Also, could a wireless with the Play and Charge kit be used instead of a normal wired controller?
Thanks for being the first to post some hands on with this thing. Sounds like it’s worth the cash, so I’m pretty excited about that. Looks like it got to you in a reasonable amount of time, too.
Which is good… cuz it’d suck if it didn’t get here until after I move (just over two weeks from now; I ordered the adapter a few days ago). I’m looking forward to going hands on with the adapter myself. It’ll be sweet to be able to use my PS2 fighting game pad on the 360.
Too bad the Max shooter does lag.
