Nice job ves, though hugo has better anti airs than that charge move, he has that anti air grab thing.
My mind is open about blanka in sfxt. I think he, like vega, will be able to chain combo from a very far distance due to the low fierce, so like, jow strong into low fierce into launcher should work from fucking super far away.
anti airs are rough in this game, so if low strong is pretty decent at anti airing than blanka will be ok, same with jump fierce, etc.
SFXT is super duper footsie game, and if blankas normal maintain their priority, I really think he is going to be really good.
I have no idea how his specials are going to work out. I heard from some folks that electricity was more of an anti air than anything else, but I dont really know.

Yea he needs to keep his normals to still be Blanka. I mean come on, a jungle manbeast with claws better have some good hitboxes.
Look for the blanka moves. Elec is mash punch. Im guessing you must mash like the same button repeatedly, which means the amount of times the button needs to be pressed is less than sf4, or elec is absolute garbage. Or blanka dont have chain combos (thats unlikely, i would think)…oi, i hate now knowing.
Blanka is gonna be a LOT of button mashing…kinda makes me sad.
I am not sure if blanka loses to down back, because he will likely have an overhead with rock crusher.
Regardless, vega “should” also lose to downback, but his walk speed and poke range allow him to open people up. Im thinking blanka will be similar…thinking, hoping, not sure anymore.
I will def explore blanka, main thing I wonder about is his mixup game with the new roll option, will this hurt or help his oki? I play him pretty defensive but go nuts when I get a KD, and I dont want to have limited options after scoring a KD.
I think Blanka needs to be feared when waking up, or else he is just another character with good(but not best) pokes.
Vega’s overhead goes over lows and you can combo off of it. Rockcrusher has 0 range. It only works in sf4 because of hard knockdowns.
So much for the hope that electricity would be a command special like Chun’s legs…
Piano/Slide from LP to Fierce Elec seems near impossible with the chain combo.
That might be changed by the time he is released.
I was thinking the same thing, because it would be pretty stupid to stop his ability to cancel a jab/short into elec because of the chain.
cr.MK xx Elec would still be possible, I guess.
But there’s no reason to give QCF + K for Chun’s legs and mash P for Blanka’s Electricity (other than the charge special for Chun-Li, of course)
2in1’s suck in this game though unless they lead to a juggle.
The more I think of it, the more Blanka is bad - think of his pokes, they mostly do decent damage, especially crmp and shp
With this NORMALIZED damage 30-60-90 for light med and hp, it is nerf city for the beast.

The lp,mp,hp chain is a slow move, direct from tekken. Sliding that chain doesn’t work, it’s a rhythm motion for all characters.
In my opinion they could easily implement piano/slide 5input elec if it happened in the same frame window as SF4, threshold it:
Five punch inputs before a set threshold equals elec, slower equals light, middle, heavy / light, heavy, middle combo… not elec.
Simples.
The game is interesting, but in it’s current online format it is completely fuckered. Played for 3hours today and went straight back to AE2012.
I agree with you on that.
Online is completely unplayable for me (I’m on PSN). While I can play SSFIV with almost anyone here in Brazil (despite being a very large country), I’m yet to play a match online on SFxT without having those annoying audio issues.
Not to mention the Ranked Match format straight from Marvel, horrible.
I’m just playing offline by myself (doing Trials, missions, training, earning trophies) until a patch comes in.
I’ve played sfiv with Brazil on Xbox live before, i’m from ireland. Some good Blanka players over there. That would never be possible with sfxt. I’m doing the same as you until the patch (of which there better be one). Ranked is terrible alright; the blind matching, the waiting, the lag differing team members. Ugh.

Only truly notable thing is that rock crusher can be comboed after. I’m going to assume, for the sake of my sanity, that rock crush is an overhead. If so, blanka is likely to have some potential to open up down back opponents.
On the sad front, one of the combos is jump lp, stand lp, into elec. Effectively, the combo is, jump and mash jab. yay…
Also, all the standard combos from sf4 are the same, including jp fp, neutral strong, stand jab, elec, and jump fp, low mk, stand jab, ball.
Based on the combos, its possible to link low jab into low short, and from low short to stand jab. Based on other frame data, most of this is likely to be 2 frame links.
Stand strong links into low mk, not sure if its close strong or far strong. If its far strong, that would be cool, but I doubt low mk could ever reach.
Nothing much else is very interesting, my fav combo was rock crush, 3 low mk, into super. likely corner only, but still, makes me go, wow!
There’s always the possibility that Capcom wasn’t completely lying and Blanka is not “finished” or, at least, balanced yet.
So while all the character data is already on the disc, some adjustments will be done via a patch before the DLC becomes available.
Electricity will be a great AA if it was QCF + P.
