He dropped sf4 for mvc3.
He still plays 3d games though.

Oh
Ves, Guy is even.
Yeah makoto has way better overall normal set to compete with blanka on the ground. While i do better against her i thin it’s more that makotos don’t know how to play vs blanka. I have a local makoto player here who knows what to do and it’s pretty difficult.
Yeah I thought it was even in super, but I just don’t have enough guy experience. Need to play a bunch with one of the guys I have on live.
with the new ex upball it may be in blankas favor. Issue is he can pressure you forever and if you try to exupball him he can punish on hit. So you are just stuck in blockstun the entire time.
his defense is pretty weak so you can rush him down as well.
yeah his defense is atrocious.
I generally just get hit by too many gimmicks, like blocked slide ex tatsu, that sort of crap.
I haven’t played in awhile but crouch seems like it can be canceled faster. Just me?
Yes… i also feel the same as well… i forgot to mention that a few days ago… i remember i was really surprise being able to LP electricity seth out of some fireball -> jump dive kick setup that i thought i went into CC a bit too late…
but since i couldn’t get solid proof i didn’t really mention it…
it’ll be nice if someone can actually check this out.

CC is probably one of blankas least discussed moves in the forums, how often do all of you use it and when do you find it is most helpful(what matchups).
I admit I dont use it and I think it might help, I think I am mostly afraid of being stuck there too long, so a cancel buff might be encouraging.
Crouch into super or up ball seems really fast. Check it out.
yes… also… i don’t remember being like this before… but you can kinda ‘buffer’ in your special move
example… you’re charging down… you press d/b+PPP immediately press u+K, you don’t get up ball immediately but it’ll become upball ‘first frame’ possible for cancel… so it seems like a delay effect… i remember this wan’t possible before probably because the cancel time is too long
Ellipsen:
I use it a lot actually…
first the most obvious would be against fireball characters… cancelling it is good sometimes like lets say against guile who’s following behind his sonic boom… you can ball/upball him before he does his mixup on you
Certain character’s special moves like M.Bison Stomp/Devil’s Reverse doesn’t hit CC… problem with before is even if you see it coming and CC you can’t exactly cancel fast enough most of the time… now it being able to cancel faster… there’s a chance you can probably electrocute him… (gotta test this out)
the same applies for some other character’s special like against Fei, Cammy, Adon, etc.
I lot of character’s primary poke move doesn’t hit low enough against CC… like Fei will rarely use c.MK in footsie… because it doesn’t cancel into special nor does it give enough frames to link into rekka… (can cancel to super but… that’s a different story) … Fei will probalby be using c.MP instead… which CC goes under… it really kinda messes up his footsie… so faster cancel… means you might be able to punish him back and in a way have a bit more options compared to before.
CC also goes under every single FA… faster cancel = easier to punish your opponent’s whiffed FA
another use for CC if you know your opponent is gonna come over and try to sweep you or c.MK you and you time it right… you can actually hop over their low kick and throw/punish them on recovery… it’s a bit more risky but it’s an option…

I noticed it being faster crouching a Adon dive kick and getting reversal electricity even though I reacted late.
This has been possible since super.
ok thanks for correction… but do you notice the faster cancel or are we all being hyper sensitive?

I haven’t tested it, I’ll mess with it.
Random question: Do any of you guys ever use hop crossup ultra anymore since AE hop changes?
I do hop ultra a lot more often than hop cross up ultra mainly because I usually do hop ultra when i’m desperate and i’m losing by a wide margin and need the ultra to either kill him or make the margin smaller… but in order for me to setup the crossup ultra i need to be next to my opponent safely… which i would either never happen because i’ll be on the offense or defense… or there’s much better setup (if they are knocked down)
so in general… pretty much never done it since AE… but not because the hop change in AE but more because experience tells me i rarely have the chance or need to do this.

I sometimes do a non-crossup hop U1 after a backthrow on chars with slow or shitty reversal ultras, but only for chip kill and only when I’m freaking out because of imminent death.
Is it possible to play a good blanka without beeing able to combo into fierce elec?
My main is bison, but I like to play blanka a lot as a subchar, I like his fast jumps (opposite to bisons) and good crossups.
But I am not able to pull of these lk (lp) xx HP.elec combos (pianoing).
Sliding is not an option for me, cause it stresses my finger joints too much .
Are there others, who struggled a lot with pianoing and finally, are able to do it?`I practiced it a lot.
All the other combos are not much a problem for me (link timing etc. plinking etc). I just dont have the speed.
I feel like its not worth to put more time in playing blanka, without beeing able to combo into elec.
