Yes, it have a great hitbox i see that.
Maybe, if i hit just with the last hit, i can get more frames from the hitstun ? But, it seems weird to do.

If you are doing that you might as well just do cl.mp cause it’ll do more damage and give you more frame advantage.
Anyone else think that EX ball through fireballs won’t be punishable on hit anymore by Dhalsim, Seth, etc? I’m guessing not Or EX balling a sonic boom, hitting the opponent and then landing on the LP sonic boom?
Does anyone in the game have worse non-ex specials? For the most part, useless up ball and rainbox roll, hori ball punishable on hit by some and elec has crappy forward range. As Mago has said before, Fei really is Shin Blanka. Rekka is similar to ball in that it is an auto footsie, good normals, good anti air, good mobility. Both win at high levels by controlling a good part of the screen. Of course Fei’s is better in every case but maybe mobility. Obviously there are tons of other differences, but if you like Blanka’s attributes and want to win tourneys, Fei would be a good switch.
rekka is st.mp, horizontal ball, slide, and electricity combined
I think the debate on the tier placement is really a waste of time we all agree he’s not high or even high/mid. So he’s pretty weak as a character. Debating if he’s higher then say Sim or lower then Guy to me is lol. He’s a weak character that’s all there is to it. I’d far rather discuss his matchups then his tier placement personally.
edit: there are people here who almost seem offended that people believe blanka is a low tier character… lol why? I’m a very strong blanka player in the usa and i know he’s trashy. I like him because i like him… it has nothing to do with what i consider his potential to be.
oh and LP hori ball is incredibly effective against all agressive specials/tatics.
I just like his options, and I feel at mid range he has many, I play him as a zoning character keeping people at mid range at all costs and the risk/reward is just a fun game to play.
i thought ken and akuma are in blanka’s favor. rufus was more even… what changed?
can’t agree on juri… even or slight favor for blanka
seth is harder, dudley can give huge presure and be a pain, claw also seams much harder
hakan in disadvantage?
dee-jay is a good match for blanka? no way
currently good matchups for blanka… i say 5.5 in blanka’s favor
Blankas ultra is better than fei’s if that matters a all lol

hori Ball nerf hurt the Ken matchup, not to mention kens buffs, but you can still keep him out, less room for mistakes now, I see it as a slight disadvantage.
Crazy as it sounds I agree with basically all of ves matchup posts. Especially hakan he has it terrible vs blanka.
Rufus and akuma was always in their favor.
Ken was even in super, and Akuma can mix you up exceptionally well, and can punish you heavily for attempting to escape. I used to think Akuma was slight advantage for Blanka, but then I played good Akumas, it’s not good. At pretty much anything below the top 5% or so Akumas the match is very easy. Rufus I disagree with the japanese on, I think Blanka fights him okay, but it’s still slight advantage Rufus.
Agree with you on juri
Seth is a bitch, Dudley is tough, claw is eh, it’s not too bad but you have to work.
Hakan is disadvantage in theory, but in the scope of what Hakan players do and them needing to land a knockdown to get anything going, you can pretty much run all over him for free. He’s like Abel when he’s oiled up, but when he’s dry he’s a training mode dummy that sometimes knocks you down and turns into abel.
Blanka crushes Deejay. Deejay has pretty much 0 options. His fireball is easy to slide, his normals are bad, he’s weak on wakeup, and his offensive mixup isn’t especially strong vs. Blanka. Deejay has to rely on spaced sobats which are vulnerable to neutral jumps.
Blanka does really well vs. E.Ryu. Like it feels like the super ryu match but you stun way way easier and your post stun combo kills a lot. He can’t really do much other than try to stagger a divekick and hope you mess up the AA or try to hit with random focus. Oni feels okay now, but I’m not sure. People don’t play oni well yet.
Thats not crazy, I know what I’m talking about, haha.
Yeah dry hakan has pretty much no answer to Blanka other than random slides, psychic u2/u1, and mashing on grab hoping Blanka messed up. Oil Hakan is bad news for Blanka, but dry? Blanka can do everything he does well vs. one character which pretty much never happens ever. Your mixup is good, your keep away is good, your pressure is good, your throw game is good, blahblahblah. Everything you want to do works.
2012 this will probably harder cause oilkan legitimately gives Blanka problems, but right now? Dry Hakan is free.
Why the match up KEN has changed so much in AE ? Just because we can’t ball him now ?
I didn’t know about Gouki, me too, i tought Blanka has a slight advantage with a strong defense, spacing and footsies, i always think about the matchs in Vanilla (Mizoteru vs Momochi, Tokido in the Godsgarden 2).
Ball nerf is the big part. Ball was your trump to stepkick, now you have nothing to properly fight in that range.
You don’t want to engage Ken close mostly, and from far you don’t have anything other than sliding fireballs which he won’t throw if he’s smart. It wasn’t about ball spam or something silly, but it was about using ball as a long range poke like a fireball.
everytime i get kd and try to cross him up with jmk i eat that bloody auto correct ex jackknive. i drives me crazy. also punish his air slashers with u2 is another pain. it feels like guiles sonic boom recovery i mostly land the ultra punish when they throw to many slashes. reacting to it is not so easy.
You aren’t supposed to mix him up with jumping normals, you’re supposed to mix him up on the ground, because you can get under/out invincibility his reversals.
Also you’re picking the wrong ultra.
The matchup is obviously hard when you are like “hmm trying to do mix him up with j.mk, doesn’t work let me keep jumping into upkicks” and “hmm u2 doesn’t work too well as anti projectile because of his walk speed and fast recovery, let me keep picking it”
When you make suboptimal decisions that you KNOW are suboptimal, you obviously get blown up. This game isn’t that difficult. If most players just stopped doing dumb shit and thought a little bit, they’d be good.
ves, i’m always open for new options to improve… i will listen to that and keep jimmy more on the ground, use u1 against dee-jay
mix up deejay with hop/fake hop (aka dash) after knock down and do a meaty cr.LK xx elec! upkicks will wiff and elec will hit!
dont jump!!!
It’s so simple.
Honestly Blanka’s mixup vs. the cast is really simple in general. You have 4 options really. Air, ground, air+ground, or No(like gief where the risk:reward is not good).
