comparing the frame data from AE and Super on the SRK wiki - they have different numbers.
http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Super_Street_Fighter_IV_AE/Blanka
and
http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Super_Street_Fighter_IV/Blanka
on block, hit
far hp - Super -5, -2
AE -6,-1
far hk Super -8, -5
AE -10, -5
Far mk(who cares)
but Super -7, -2
AE -7, -4
I’m guessing they are just errors in the super data.

far mk sucks, but it can be used as an anti air, amaazingly enough
anyone know where i could c the hitbox for far mk, now im really curious. Ive used it as anti air b4, but was really fuking around

I’ve tested it, its not worth it. It works well now and then(nice hitbox), but other options are better since its only active 2 frames its very tight timing/spacing.

Far mk is good for beating delayed crouch techs after a blocked cr.mk. Too bad you can’t combo into it. I use it sometimes as an anti-air but the timing and spacing can be tricky (has to be around max range).

I’ve found that it works best when the opponent is jumping back in the corner because it’s easier to adjust your spacing. I haven’t found any reason to choose it over other anti-airs though.

st.mp, st.mk combos! It’s a good button, I don’t know when I’m supposed to hit it, but every time I do good things happen.

Also it’s pretty much impossible to test whats up with those moves you mentioned until i have the game in hand.

I’d argue that the super data is probably wrong, and that st.hp is actually buffed from vanilla with a bit of extra hit/block stun, st.mk is the same, and st.hk is also the same.

It’s really hard to tell without manually testing though, but the hitstun/blockstun numbers seem to give the vanilla and AE data more weight. Also stealth buffing st.mk then renerfing it would be kinda dumb. far st.hk needs to be safe on hit though, it should be -6/0 on block/hit IMO.

right now nishikin is playing! he is so GDLK!!!

so much blanka play

http://www.ustwrap.info/multi/nsb2::nsb3::godsgarden

i can’t even watch for whatever reason

@ ves

hmm…strange…there are 3 streams parallel

the number of yun players is ridiculous!

pretty much every game has at least one yun, if not mirror yun…
SSF4 yun edition

once it started to work for me, I saw Nishikin get bodied. haha.

After watching the NSB film, couple thoughts.

A: Blanka does well against YANG. There are a couple matches there, and I think i saw either nishikin or coop, but basically yang divekicks die like a bitch to blanka standing rh, just like I hoped yun’s dive kicks would die to, but they dont. while yang can still divekick pressure on wakeup, the overall divekick game is neutered, making blanka life much easier.

B. While top level blanka can beat mediocre yun, looks like top level yun just smacks the shit with blanka. :frowning:

as the game draws to a close, I think these are my final opinion on Blanka’s matchups.

*viper: 6.0 *
guile: 6.0
bison: 4.0
*chun: 5.5 *
*deejay: 6.0 *
guy: ??? I’ve played decent length sets against guy players, and I still have no clue.
*ibuki: 4.5 *
*seth: 5.0 *
*vega: 4.5 *
fuerte: 6.0
*dudley: 4.5 *
*sagat: 4.0 *
*cammy: 2.5 *
*makoto: 6.0 *
dhalsim: 4.0 < I’ve lightened up on this match, have to guess offensively more than any other match, but it isn’t that bad.
*rufus: 4.0 *
gouken: 6.5
*adon: 5.0 *
ken: 5.0 < Blanka might have a very slight advantage, but a lot of dumb things Ken can do are way in his favor because of how low Blanka’s damage is.
*rose: 6.0 *
hakan: 5.5
akuma: 4.5
balrog: 3.5
*honda: 4.5 *
zangief: 6.5
*dan: 7.0 *
*sakura: 6.0 *
gen: 5.0 < I’m sort of unsure here, I think I might just be weak to Gen, on paper I think we win, but I’m bad at reading him.
ryu: 5.5
*hawk: 8.0 *
cody: 5.0 < I think cody has a very slight advantage, but I’ll concede that it is basically even
*fei: 4.0 *
abel: 4.0< my least favorite match, I really wish blanka has a 3 frame cr.jab or something. This match makes me sad.
juri: 5.5

This puts him basically even with the whole cast, but I would argue that he’s still lower mid cause of who he loses to. Losing to pretty much every high tier character is not good, doing well vs. Guile/Chun/Viper/Ryu does not offset losing to Abel/Fei/Balrog/Bison/Honda/Akuma/Rufus/Sim/Cammy Also I used to think Blanka beat Akuma, but that was only because most Akuma’s don’t play the matchup correctly. Over time Perfect Legend started doing better against me and not worse, and I was still improving. I know he was leveling up as well, but he got better at the matchup(stopped using st.hk, flipping as much), and started to counter a lot of what Blanka exploits.

wow cammy that bad?

You really can’t do anything vs. Cammy other than hope they mess up. You have to make a lot of guesses that are slanted in her favor.

Like vs. Balrog I know I can do certain things, if he walks forward I can throw out jab ball or attempt normals, and I know that if I knock him down I can work a mixup+I have an unblockable. You actually win in those stages of the matchup, but vs. cammy she can outfootsie you, your pressure doesn’t work against her, and she gets to rush you down for free and option select all of your options at once, the horizontal range of her dp means that you can’t do well spaced jumps with mp, she’s skinny so combos whiff.

Thats brutal, her normals were buffed too.

but she hasnt got the instant divekick anymore (except EX)!
st.HK FTW???

I didnt think it should be that low either, but the more I think of it, when facing a good cammy you are really limited. She can beat him at most ranges.

that is what exactly happens to me…

haha, just following T SRAI’s replays!
they are awesome! his exe really is GDLK

@ Ves

I’m following you so dont fuck up and stop using DJ

Lol, i totally started following T Srai as well
Any other players on xbox live that are worth following? Can we all put up our signs? I cant play on internet, but I can watch replays. There are vids on the internet here and there of me, though nothing recent.
