i was practicing 5lp XX hp electricity against a “all block” cpu, i use 13213 but it seems always bit late when electric cancel out, am i not fast enough?
just switched the spring of my sanwa JLF with a seimitsu LS-55 spring!
and it feels sooooo good now!
my JLF stick feels harder now and I think i can move it more precisely!
I think everybody should give it try and test it for your self once!
i use basic JLF and when the spring wears down (stick doesnt’ return to neutral as easy) i just replace with an ls32.
if electricity is cancelling then you’re fine. If it matters, using HP electricity because it has slower startup always looks slower then if you just mash out LP. But if it’s a cancel then it combos and that’s all that matters.
If you’re canceling you’re fine for the most part, but it’s entirely possible to late cancel or for your elec to come out the second you exit st.lp recovery.
If you are worried record yourself doing electricity, and then see if you can reversal out when you play it back. If you can then you have an issue and need to speed things up.
so i’ve been playing ranked on my alts and I’ve lost like 1400 pp. My everything else is terrible.
Argh! You have to win so many more matches to build points than it takes to lose points. I nearly put the stick through the tv when I lose 100 points stupidly in one go. I know it means I have a problem. Losing puts me into a horrible mood. Some day I will eat the ssf4 disk in a fit of rage, but I know that will only placate me temporarily until I cave-in and buy a new disk. Damn this ‘game’ to hell. It’s like crack.
Yeah I don’t really care that much… I wanted to hit 5k, I hit 4750, but I’m stagnating as a player only playing one character.
Losing 100 at a time blows, but whatever, I know if I want to get it back, I can get it back.
Abandon chaos. Look through the matrix. I’d love to be in a world of my own controlling, where nothing is left to chance. What do the numbers look like for a mashed DP or random Ultra? A girl in a red dress? A cat getting tangled up and accidentially unplugging your controller?
Only messing. Your reduction of chance OS’s/Labwork/Practice clearly pays off. I just think that if I hate P2 enough in my mind, everything will work out in my favour. I telepathically will them to lose too. Works well on Hakan players.
Haha, yeah, I need to figure out how to play other characters how I play Blanka. I think Sagat is just not going to work for me. I can’t compensate for the walk speed, it’s just too terrible. I think I would need to play Sagat for another 3-4 months consistently to feel good about playing him. I love combo into HK TK, overhead/low mixup, it’s crazy good.
Deejay doesn’t really help my bad matchups, but he’s getting mad buffs in a couple of weeks, and I actually feel in control with him.
Well I’ve always liked Reggae, and the rest… so DJ does seem apt. Like Guile but much more ‘fun’?. I liked what I seen in the video thread; those ex-mgu to ex-sobat moves are nice. Hard to link iyo? His j.lk knee thing seems unstoppable too. His damage seems quite weak though.
i would play him too, but i hate his stupid grin…
i just dont like his design
Deejay does way more damage than Blanka.
His only hard links are into cr.mp and ex mgu dash ultra.
Execution wise he’s very very easy.
My skill lvl goes:
Blanka
Honda
Dee Jay
Vega
Bison
Guile
Dan
I just like charge characters for some reason.
I just have to get into the flow with that character and I’m ok. Though, I usually mess up my timing with Blanka when I switch back.
Honda has similar moves and torpedo is just a faster, more damaging beast roll. Trick is not using hands as anti air move lol.
Dee Jay is fun and can be defensive or offensive. Wish I could link his ultra.
Vega is good for poking/counterpoking and fun to mess with.
Bison has great mobility so hes fun and has good hit confirms.
Guile is a less fun version of Dee Jay, but with better moves, and less combos.
Dan is just fun. He has a good combo, nice frame trap, but can’t link shit.
Dan is the funniest alright. Normal cancels into non-ex haohdokens that just don’t reach are the best. Strangely unpunishable, most likely because both parties are too busy laughing.
I used to prefer non-charge characters when playing with a pad. For me stick is all about the buttons. Pad thumbstick was always kind to me in motion execution, quicker. Stick seems more ‘blah’ imo, my hori is anyway. I’ve tried TE’s and the movement is a lot more precise, 1mm gate-switches compared to 3mm is what it feels like to me.
I go Blanka >>>> Deejay/Sagat/Honda/Boxer/Vega > Sakura/Chun/Guile/Dictator/ > Fei/Cammy/Seth
If I can get Deejay, Sagat or Boxer(I wish I could play Fei better though) into like 1 rung below Blanka I’ll be a much better player overall and be a more dangerous player in tournament.
One of my main problems with Sagat is I don’t know how to footsie with him at all because of his walk speed. When I’m on offense or fireball zoning I feel more confident than when I’m 2 character lengths away.
balrog for me. i may even play him in AE. argh ;[
new st.mp seems legit.
I just realized the matchup threads need character specific combo sections. I’m going to start adding those. Added Guile matchup which I’m still fleshing out. I need to start talking about defense in these things.
Finally played AE today. TBH I didn’t even notice the ball nerf. Slide feels good. Rockcrusher, jab xx ball worked on everyone I tried it on (admittedly only maybe two or 3 mid-sized chars). The level at the arcade wasn’t very high though, and noone was playing any of the new chars so I can’t talk much about matchups. I did mess around with E.Ryu and his U1 punishes a blocked ball easily.
BTW, anyone know of arcades in Singapore that are open till at least 2am?
