me? i gave you advice on sim? lol i forget if i did. Glad you find it easier.

my final thoughts on the sim matchup were his b.lk beats everything you have up close and is a real momentum killer. I found reversal st.hk after a blocked b.lk works well and nets you a trade at worst but thats a momentum killer too.

i found the match tough but also quite fun, one o the few matches i used his overhead in.

you can just stick out st.jab if you want to keep momentum after a blocked b.lk super close. Sim is at frame disadvantage, if he hits it again you’ll counterhit him, and be +4.

st.jab is as fast as b.lk and has a better hitbox.

i always found that it got beaten, maybe i was too far out?

i dont think blanka is going to make it into sf x tekken, i think the dev tream made it obvious they know everyone hates him by how hard they nerfed him

yeah, you’re probably too far. There is a range where st.jab whiffs and b.lk whiff punishes it, but only if you st.jab too early. Just tested this in training mode.

I just walk forward and hit st.jab against Sim now.

Wish Blanka could do impractical combos that were this many hits long

Also yes I am recording dumb things instead of doing practical work on Blanka stuff.

So with PSN down, did everyone get into something else and forget about SSF4 or what? Been playing Final Fantasy XIII myself.

I play on 360, I’m losing to Wolfkrone on PJS right now.

Just been playing MK, really. I wonder who’s the ‘Blanka’ of that game? Kano’s got the ball, Raiden’s got the electricity, Baraka’s a monster man … hmm.

20 streaked on jays, beat wolfkrone because of some BS(i fell out of ultra twice).

also until they patch it, smoke is the best character, play smoke.

I’ve actually revisited older fighting games like CVS, CVS2, SFa3, and sf2 world warrior. After playing these games i feel SSF4 is by far the easiest to play. The inputs are way more lenient, plus Blanka is a lot stronger in sf4.

are you sure you were playing CVS2?

yes! i played it on nulldc emulator for dreamcast.

my point was that Blanka is top tier in that game.

oh… whoops… well in cvs2 i don’t have a lot of knowledge on. My first fighting game I’ve really gotten into was sf4. All of the other fighters i never really got into.

on a side note i am crossing my fingers in hoping blanka makes it in sf x tekken!!

blanka is monster tier in cvs2

any thoughts on mortal kombat? offline of course

downloaded the demo a while back and my take on it is that it was initially fun but the mechanics felt a little stiff. plus i still hae to get used to pressing a block button! lol i catch myself pressing back to block alot…

i have only put in like 3 hours of play tho…

Okay I’ve trying to come up with something using . I use this a lot when I’m building meter full screen. I’m thinking maybe frame trap, but i don’t know where you could do it and not get thrown close. You can buffer it out of pretty much anything.

With buffered elec you get more time if the last input is LP, then EX, then MP, then HP. So you can do something like blocked st.strong(buffer 4 or 5 inputs), wiggle a little bit, then hit lp+mp in AE. Dunno how useful all of this is, but I feel like there is something there. Maybe whiff st. jab, walk forward raw elec?

Seems like it’s better for Honda.

This is good stuff. I by accident will get delayed HP after a c.MK when trying to do s.LP xx elec. It works as a good frametrap so what you’re doing here can work. good find.
