Recently been using jump lk like thawks jump d+mp basically the move is easy to whiff so I can pretty much land a throw when I land…
didn’t play for a month, went to newish local arcade, bopped everyone even though I dropped every ultra link(6 attempts). =/
I’m sure all of you heard about Decapre…and most if not all is disappointed in the news including myself…
However she does seem like a good secondary for us blanka users … She’s got the mobility, got decent wake up, better footsie, better combos, and probably just as much gimmicks.

I don’t see why people would get disappointed, what were they expecting?
I’m pretty excited about Decapre, she seems like a good character and, most importantly, is a charge character, wich is good for most us Blanka players.
Her character model could be a little more different than Cammy’s, tough. Or at least her standing pose could be different.
well she got leaked in like october, so I’m glad she’ll fit my playstyle. LATER BLANKA
Yeah I think I’m also gonna pick up Decapre as well, don’t think I’m gonna drop Blanka but the transition from Blanka to Decapre is probably gonna be easier than those trying to learn her when they mained cammy before… Not to mention her teleport stomp seems like how ONI stomp works and I’ve been playing lots of ONI in the last few months

can you check out if c.mk on block has improved frame wise. So I guess you can have blanka vs blanka record him doing c.mk block,(+1), c.lp(4f) vs you doing c.mk (5f)after block. It should trade if you consistently win then try doing c.hk(6f). My hope is obviously better block stun.
make sure to tell them we hate the pushback on c.mk!
Not sure I’ll get the opportunity for training mode but maybe I can ad-hoc something if I get on with a buddy.
I don’t know if I even ‘hate’ the pushback on c.mk because I haven’t played it. The concept is lame but I want to see what’s possible/isn’t first.
You can test it in the Ultra PC mod, its REALLY bad and a huge nerf to the character. Telling them you don’t like the change would be a really big help toward this character not getting much worse for no reason.

Blockstun/frame advantage is irrelevant because the pushback is so severe you can’t frametrap with the move anyway.
First of all that’s not entirely true. We all know point blank c.mk you can at least connect s.lp. but besides from that knowing if it has improved on block stun does matter a lot in footsie even when your move is out of range for your next attack.
If the opponent counter pokes when you are out of range it will extend their hit box so that whatever you try next will now hit them vs if you’re only strictly looking at your own frame data against a standing dummy. The more block stun there is the more options of moves I can use. So it does matter
Also once you train them not to throw out buttons you can use the short block stun to walk forward a bit and sometimes against certain characters your walking up a bit s.lp beats out a lot of their options.
Finally even if you don’t agree with anything mentioned above. Knowledge is power and knowing more is better than less.
I might make a video showcasing how bad the Blanka c.MK change is so you guys can see what I’m talking about. Ves would be a lot more qualified, but his computer is broken so I can do it. I don’t really have any editing software so it would be sloppy editing wise but it can show all the things I’m talking about now about the move being worse overall and causing many combos to whiff.
Would this be something people would be interested in?
I think a video with quick before/after of several combos/situations that become really hard to do/impossible after the push back change so its easy to compare would be the most helpful, the problem is that we need to make sure it is seen by the right people so then the devs actually care about changing it.

using the pc mod to do this is a bad idea as it does not have the correct pushback to pixel perfect value.
Blanka still needs tools tbh, he’s still weak even with the pushback nerf fixed.
He’s just poorly designed with no real gameplan.
Everyone should hit up Combofiend if they haven’t already. I really don’t know who else you would contact to get this fixed.
Blanka’s never going to be a good character, but I would be happy with the way he is if they changed c.MK back and kept it being +5. Fully reverting it is OK too and still better than pushback +5 though.
If I made a video it would just to show you guys. Capcom doesn’t look too fondly on third party mods I’d imagine.
