To be honest with you Josh this is is a conversation you should have had at least a month ago. It’s one of those dropped the ball situations. I’m sure everyone feels the same. It doesn’t matter where I get it as long as I do. But it is a month after the fact. Its really nothing personal but how long ago did they announce the release date? That would have been the time to bring this up. Not three weeks before release day. You were slow off the line. It’s not really about loyalty.

Jerome: It’s everything to do with loyalty. We’ve been having tournaments there for almost a year now, and when it came time to preorder, people went with who was next door as opposed to who helped us out. I shouldn’t have to say, “Hey guys, don’t forget that they’re helping us out, so let’s make sure we keep them happy too.” That’s asinine. It’s not my job to refresh people’s common sense.
As far as gatherings, I’m not a big fan like I used to be. If there’s more than 3-4 people and only one TV, losing can set you back 45min waiting for your turn to come back around. I’ll make it out to a couple, but weekly sessions with just 3-4 people is something I’d be more inclined to come out for. Plus, week 1 is going to be training mode week!

in my opinion 1 ranbat every tree months, pay entrance fee and get store credit if u win is not the best deal.
i got ur point about the loyalty to them thats clear, but u cant force no one to get games from them just because we use their store sometimes, i dont like to be manipulated or to be told where i have to buy my games!
If I wanted to manipulate you into buying your games at a certain place, you’d be buying them from me for $100 a pop. It wouldn’t take long, we’ve seen how easy it is to get you to duck in Tekken! :encore:
So if you don’t feel it’s your job to remind us, when did you get hired to bitch about it? Common sense is obviously subjective and lost on certain people. You see, the reason why people bought the game in other places was because Gamestop reminded them to do it.
You seem to feel very strongly about it in hindsight, enough that you felt the need to post about it. So you felt compelled to post about common sense, but not to post about buying the game from PnT in the first place? Common sense huh? Relevant or meanwhile posts being few and between, I think this one post would have been worth your time.

Outside perspective: I don’t know whose loyalties are tied to whom, but as a new guy… PnT just doesn’t pop into my head ever, until I see/talk to Josh. I definitely associate him with the ranbats, and the ranbats with the store. But I’ve only gone to like three or four of those cuz of my family time. But I talk to GamestopThomas at least two or three times a week. And I was introduced to him at a gathering playing casuals with the goose creek players and Luiz. I associate Thomas with the the goose creek players, and I associate Thomas with Gamestop and buying games. He nevers mentions work unless I ask and never pushes Gamestop on us… But becuase we hang out so much, my brain defaults to his store when I get games. Me and Luiz both got blazblue from there with no thought about loyalty.
So I think it really does matter who gets up and games together. those 3-6 guys per tv helps build the community, IMO. Because you’re playing the best guy (at that time) when it’s your turn and when you’re not playing we’re kicking it, talking, joking around. Since I’ve been here, the goose creek guys have asked me to come out at least once a week (sometimes up to two or three times a week when Paul gets bored… Haha) Hell, I even needed to meet Jerome last week and just said “see u at thomas’ store” cuz we all kick it together every so often anyways, and Thomas wasn’t even there hahaha.
So for me (probably Luiz, and a few of the others) PnT and the ranbats just aren’t fresh on our brains cuz we hang out and game way more often than think about wa pnt. I can’t vouch for the Summerville guys though… But I DO need directions to the DOJO!!!
On another note, I don’t know how well Luiz does during tournys… But he’s always running the table when we get up, and I’m getting sick of that shit. Go on vacation already. Hahahhahaa
OMG I just got Street Fighter 3rd Strike and just drooled at how good the game was. @.@ I have been collecting DC fighting games like a FIEND and have racked up quite a few games.
Now I just need to find people that actually PLAY these games so that I can get better instead of playing the computer, which can get pretty old after a bit. >.<
