A 2vs 2 sounds like fun. I vote we let the top seed pick their partners. Either randomly or by just picking them. The character thing I don’t know about. We have a few people who play the same character. Maybe random characters will work. What does everyone else think?
I like the idea of letting top seeds pick their partners, and if we’re allowed to choose partners then having to stick with the same character wouldn’t be such a big deal.
If any of you would be interested, I wouldn’t mind testing a 2v2 format (in addition to singles) at the Myrtle Beach tournament.

Not sure what y’all mean by seeds picking. I’m saying in terms of seeds, we could make top seeds partner up with bottom seeds. If we’re going to be letting people pick teammates, then everyone pick teammates. Not like a draft or anything. Also, if you pick someone to team up with, not playing the same character shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Speaking of drafts though, I want to do a big 5v5 exhibition. Like, get two team captains, and they can “draft” people from a pool of players. Then they do round robin 5v5 like the EC vs WC thing at Evo. I think it’d be pretty fun. We’d have to decide on team captains though. I’m voting Ryan as one because it’s a no brainer he’ll get taken first :lol:
I’m down for 2v2 in MB, and 2v2 ranbats. Seeds pick partners, to avoid top 4 seeds from picking top 4 seeds as partners lol.

I vote for people picking partners so they can actually practice with each other. That way they people can use some strategy in terms of picking their 2v2 main’s in order to avoid conflicting same characters. This way a teams can be pretty strategic, if one person uses a shoto his partner can start practicing zangief and etc. Most places I’ve seen let you choose teammates anyways, so it would be a good experience for other competitions as well. Pretend someone is coming from a good distance away and wants to bring his buddy as his teammate. They’re probably not going to want to pay an entry fee to compete with someone they don’t know. It’s kind of hard in general to play with someone random you don’t really know. Arthur votes the same way 
I think this would be cool to do :
You choose characters and lock them in (although I wouldn’t really mind if people used the same characters)
You choose a setorder so
Team A:
Joe and Jim
Team B:
Jake and Josh
Joe Vs. Jake - Joe wins
then
Jim Vs. Josh - Josh Wins (tied 1-1)
then for the tiebreaker they can choose whoever they want to send if it is tied.
I personally like being able to make your own team because it gives you the opportunity to either a) pair up with a friend, b) pair up with someone you like playing with, c) pair up with somebody that you think is the best player, d) pair up with somebody that you think is the best with a character that will cover up for your character’s bad match ups.
The team tournament I think will be that way. Set order, set character. When you lose a match you’re allowed to option to change team order (or maybe 1 person can change a character?)
no drafts, i say yes if is free and for fun.

Capcom has been really awesome recently-SF4, Resident Evil 5, and now MvC2 online! Now, just bring Tatsunoki vs. Capcom to America please! I hear PS3 is about to get Tekken 6 for all the Tekken heads. It was going to be exclusively for it, but now I hear its also coming out on Xbox 360 and PSP. Actually, video games in general has been pretty good. I can’t wait for Halo ODST comes out, heck, I might even play Final Fantasy when it comes out on PS3-I haven’t played an RPG in a while. I used to love me some Final Fantasy. I still think they should create a game genie like device and have it just automatically disable during online play. It can’t be that hard. It sounds like a simple if statement in code. I remember using Game Genie on SNES and how much more repaly value was added to the games with it on. And, honestly, I just love going through the game and annihilating all the bosses that were hard earlier. But, that’s just me

I don’t want to do teams, unless it is a side session. Meaning the nromal ranbat will be going on 2-3 tv’s, and the team will go on 1 tv during that same time…
