Just figured our ranbats needed a results thread to track our progress and to hopefully get some out of town comp to come out
Looks like the turn out was good for the RanBat. Hopefully I can make the next one. I had to go to a Wedding on Saturday so no dice for me.

This past weekend was so bad ass. All of you guys are gettin so much better. I feel like I learned a LOT myself. I should be making it out to Greensboro on the 9th and Augusta on the 16th. I need a partner for Greensboro, anyone?
Also… May 23rd, Myrtle Beach tournament, get hype! Spread the word! Currently I’m only planning for SF4, but I’ll run anything else you guys wanna play as well.
I don’t know if it gives you better recovery, but in the very least it puts you closer than blocking low.

Check it out!!! Mark of the Wolves on XBLA!!! In my opinion SNK’s best fighter. Got it on emu and dreamcast, but cant wait to play it on live. No US release confirmed yet, though.

Mark of the wolves was a step in the right direction but far too unbalanced to be considered snks best fighter. Definitely the prettiest before kof12 though.
There is no suck thing as a balanced snk fighter.:looney: Garou is one of the best fighters snk ever made though. I think 98UM would be the best to date IMO. KOF12 is gonna be the hotness though. The majors next year are gonna be some of the craziest, off the chain events in a long time. There is gonna be a lot of new blood coming out of the wood work to shift the ranks. When was the last time we had five gerat games all at once that are fairly new or brand new? sf4, kof12, T6, Blazeblue, Pocket pool remix. Plus Marvel may be coming out on the new consoles. That may generate some excitement.

Ok, battle report. I put this off way way too long and I’m sorry for that.
First off: Ranbats. Amazing! I’m so stoked we are doing this. As long as the turn out is consistently around 10 people, I think it’s a huge success. I’d love to get other SC local down too, like the Gvegas people.
Ryan: Things are getting serious. Everyone is putting in serious effort so don’t expect to stay on your platform for long
Paul Large Edition: You played very solid this weekend, which is definitely a step in the right direction for you, because it lets you take advantage of other people choking. Keep improving. Grats on third.
Josh: The games every few days have been great, and I hope we can keep this up! Thanks for being patient and helping me learn new stuff. Play a real character!
Paul Summerville Version: Consistency! Especially on block strings. You are a good player but I think you mentally beat yourself too much. Stop thinking you can’t and just do the damn thing. :D:D Also, the games we get in throughout the week really help me learn this game.
Jerome: You play SO much better in tournys than casuals haha. You REALLY impressed me the most this weekend, just with overall ability. I think you need to learn to be more patient, but at the same time you are patient.
Let me try an explain. At the tourny, several times you had the lead and weren’t content to sit on it. I know not everyone plays that way and shit, but like, against certain characters you just don’t need to take risks. Like Blanka, Balrog can turtle up on blanka for free and it’s an easy win because Blanka has to take risks to get in, but instead you gave up the lead and almost lost because you kept being risky and he didn’t have to worry about the risk of you running away so he could just keep punishing you.
But at the same time, you never once whiffed a headbutt trying to force an ultra. What the hell? Haha. Learn2Turtle scrub.
Justin: You coming down has definitely a highlight of my weekend. GG’s and get your confidence back. You are definitely the best blanka player I’ve played against, and even watched videos of so play like it. Also, quit being lazy and learn ball combos that you can’t use against balrog.
Mike: Stick with E.Honda. You need to get more games but you’re on the right path so let’s get unscrubby together!
Kevin: You are Kev tastic. I really haven’t played you or seen you play, so it’s hard to say anything.
Luis: I will have my revenge. FIERCE DRAGON.
I’m forgetting people. Jon, was made nice meeting you. You’re a super chill dude. You are more consistent than people might know, and with a slightly different bracket set up, you could have very easily won the whole thing (Like Arthur having to run into Lobo first instead of you, or you taking arthur when you played him, either which could have easily happened)
