Charleston, SC: Hustle... Hustle... Hustle... Hard

Obviously, it shouldn’t take the place of any priorities. No need to be daft, and if i gave that impression, that’s my mistake. Just because you’re not doing it for a living or making money off of it doesn’t mean it’s not worth putting effort into. That’s all i’m getting at. It’s a passionate hobby for me, so i choose to put forth a good deal of effort for it, and just hoping to spark that, or foster that mentality. I agree, we don’t have “great” here when it comes to Capcom, which is precisely why i’m being vocal about it.

Not sure if the spear-heading is aimed at someone (me or thomas) or impersonal, but i’m curious about what we could be doing better to set the example. Not sure what else i should be doing, aside from a frustration vent every now and then, which is 100% based on my own execution shortcomings, not personal. When i get outplayed, or generally had to work and pull out something creative, i give someone a “good shit” or some other such. Please let me know where i can be more supportive if i’m failing to set an example.

Door fee is a terrible idea. It would be counterproductive to the umbrella goal of getting people to come out. I’m also not a huge fan of the random periodic money match. If something like that ends up happening, i think it would be much better to do it the Josh/UFC way and have solid matches/grudgematches with players of similar skill.

Just made it in to SC now. I live near West Ashly high which is going to be my school. Anyone live near me, if so I want to do casuals. Everyone add me on XBL. GT is DrFaustSNK. GGPO is SRKDrFaust. Look forward to the fights

I live very close to West Ashley High. I’m not sure if you know what 61 is, but I live in a neighborhood along that road. I would like to get some casuals going on. I would also like to make it out to some of the gaming nights you guys plan but I just don’t know what days I can make it.

Zane I’m not pointing fingers at anyone in particular I am talking about the community as a whole. I’m just trying to point people in the right direction. You guys seem to have everyone’s attention with this and seem to be on the right track. People are responding to it in a positive way. I’m just trying to help you guys avoid pitfalls we have hit in the past.

PM me your address

Also I’m mostly looking for casuals in BBCS2,SF4,T6,MBAA.KOF,and GGAC. I don’t care if theres only six people who play the game I’ll still train in it I love

Jerome: I don’t think ppl here are going to give up real life for video games lol now that would be just stupid. All I wanted to do was to improve my game. Just like Zane said its a hobby that I really care about and I just really would like to perform better in tournaments.

Other news This tournament saturday will be 2 dollars per game for AE, mvc3, mk9, and Tekken 6. I will try and have 3 set ups but if I can can get 1 more tv I can make it work. The tournament will Start at 6pm and end whenever. I will start casuals at my place at 2pm so ppl can warm up. I hope that ppl can show up and support the scene even though we dont have a venue. People been wanting some form of tournaments but doing it at someones place seems one of the cheaper and easiest options.

We have alot of new ppl on teh scene as well that havent come out to the my place yet but if yall interested pm me and I’ll give u directions.

Players can and will get better when they learn match ups and set ups instead of everybody else’s win/loss ratio for the night.

Big yun post coming up later tonight

i personally think that the money matching thing is ego boosting bullshit, and nothing more. sure, something is on the line, but that doesnt necessarily make someone play better or want to win more. when someone wins a money match they get a fat ego boost and the chance to shit talk, but they dont care why the won, lost, etc. thats the end of it. i think the tournament thing would be much better because theres a sense of having something on the line which tends to make you care a little more, but you play against more than one person, so ego doesnt really factor in as much, and afterwards the people who really wanna get better can talk about what happened, matchups, yadda yadda. im all down for leveling up as a whole, but people have to get over themselves first.

the money matching thing is primarily an income boosting method for really good players…the shit talking thing is a technique used to bait worser player into accepting the money match…

in other news, I just bought Fear 3 and it’s good (not great). Finished downloading Dirt 3 .iso file and am about to beat this game with a trainer. cheathappens.com…thank you very much! Yeah, I know, I should be practicing and hitting my 10 hours of mandatory AE training, but, I’m a slacker. I will eventually get there, I also need to practice some of Tom Brady’s Kitana strategies too.

Revon, you mind if I come by one day so we can beat the story mode in Fear 3? It’s split screen coop.

Oh, and D.R., I am not in the market for a personal trainer at the moment, but out of curiosity, how much are you charging? Right now, I’m reading up on articles and watching vids on bodybuilding.com to get some information on that part of my life.

We can discuss it Saturday if you’re gonna be at Thomas’.

And by later tonight I mean later tomorrow night >.>

Sadly the real reason between Andrew and mine is for ammo to tease the other one with relentlessly to keep the other from getting too big of a head, starting by immediately using that money to buy everyone else but the loser food with that fresh $20

Notice how I just stole the crowd by offering to feed them if I win. Root for meeeeee!

o_O Ooooooookkkkkkkkkkaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy…

I just like easy money.

I dont mind beating FEAR 3 with ya. I have FEAR 2 and i really like it. Damn i might as well get the 3rd one while im at it but then thats probally gonna mess up my training for AE.

naw, it won’t…just play AE after I leave and practice…besides, you have a long time before Final Round don’t you?

I say we start the B_tch Made gauntlet again. Everyone starts out in the BMG. You have to fight your way out of it. It’s kinda like a round robin type deal. Better yet what was the thing we used to do where no matter what if you lose two matches you pass the mic. I’m not sure how many wins or loses will determine if your in the BMG but I think the crap talking will motivate people to train because no one wants to be stuck in the BMG.

What is the BMG? “Fight your way out of it”, what is “it”?? To me, it sounds like, if you are not good you are stuck in this thing called a BMG where you get to keep playing until you win. Lol, that doesn’t sound too motivating since you get to keep playing.

Josiah you totally missed the point. The BMG is like a rank. A round Robin is when everyone fights everyone else at least once. Try to keep up man.

Aw hell yeah I’m down for that bitch made gauntlet!
