Introducing… Charleston Championship Gaming Series!
During the Summer 2011, there will be several “bar fight” style events occurring at venues TBD. Matches will be booked in a manner similar to UFC events, but these will count towards a ranking system that the CCGS will be using based off of wins and losses during the course of the summer. At the end of the season, the top qualifiers for each game will be given the opportunity to participate in a Championship tournament where their seeding is based off of the rankings from the regular season.
Statistics will play a much larger role in the CCGS than they have in other tournaments. Not only will wins and losses be recorded, but all matches will be as well for greater statistical breakdown (should people wish to on their own). Perfects, percentages, and averages are also in the works to help provide numerical data for the players to use as a guide for themselves in terms of where needs works.
Games: Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Tekken 6, Mortal Kombat 9, and Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition
Extras such as Grudge/Money Matches, Beat a Pro, etc will also be going on!
Once everything has been put in place and people have signed up (please PM me your name (first + last), handle, email, and your best contact phone #), I will create a tentative schedule that is subject to change as the season progresses.
I would appreciate as much help as I can get from anybody that is interested to experience organizing tournaments as opposed to just playing in them. It would be a good opportunity to learn if you’re looking to help at Final Round next year.
As of right now, the winner of each game will have their badges paid for @ Final Round 15 in 2012. I’m brainstorming ideas for other prizes and such. My goal is to do this free of charge this year, so I apologize to those of you thinking you’re getting a free payday just because this might be happening
This is open to everyone, however there will not be sign ups at the door for these events. Bouts will be arranged before hand. When organizing fight cards, the goal will be to put forth the best show possible while at the same time satisfying the seasonal match-ups that need to happen. These events are designed to give the community exposure while providing incentive to level up your game. I would really like to go as far as doing player interviews + hype vids. Anybody with any type of digital media experience that wants to help in that area as well, please do!
This will be for the community, by the community. So what the community is willing to put into it is what the community is ultimately going to get out of it.
