Sup doods.
Star250: Interesting style you’ve got working there. I think it is working better on the Bison than on the Charlie. Interesting decision to make him hatless and bald too. Hehe, he’s gettin fashion tips from Lex Luthor. My critiques for Bison are only a few nitpicks. I think his forehead could be a lighter color like his cheeks, the back shoulder plate could use a little shading like the other one, and his body below the belt looks just a little small compared to above it. Charlie hella gruff looking, like he’s been through some serious battle. The style reminds me of old Virtua Figher art but more detailed. I think his skintones are getting just a little on the bright side.
Nova: Hey man! I saw the sketch versions on SNK-C, and I was wondering when you were gonna enter them for the challenge. They look great with the colors. The others covered the crit pretty well, so I don’t have too much more to add. I think that the muscles on Charlie’s arm are looking just a little odd. I think if his palm were facing that way, his whole arm would be twisted a little more with it so that we see more tricep and less bicep.
blackstar14: Since we only do one character a week, it is going to be quite some time before Yang comes around. If you’d like any of the artists here to do stick art for you, I’d suggest contacted those artists personally.
MatthewK: Good drawing man! I especially like Bison’s face and psycho powered hand. My main critique is to watch your compositional elements, and try not to place things so that they are “almost there, or just barely there.” For example, Juni and Juli’s heads just barely touching the top of the picture, Bison’s head just barely touching the bottom of the Shadowloo emblem, and Cammy being almost in the frame, but mostly out.
Rook: WTF, mang? Why you leveling up so fast? Hehe. Beautiful Charlie. I really like the way you approached the speed arch thingy, and the pose is dynamite. Good job making a weird ass pose look natural. Hehe, only thing that looks a little odd is the hair strand going up instead of down.
EEK: Sweeeeet. You should toss some simple colors on it. I think it would really bring it out.
Switcher: Looks good. Nice job cleaning up the mark-making compared to the Bison. I think his head is just a little on the small side, but it’s not all that noticable.
VSlash: I really like the lettering you did. The scratchy lines style is working well with it. I think that the lines used around the sonic boom energy could have been a different color rather than black though, so make it look more like energy. His lower body is a bit big for his upper body, but it doesn’t bother me too much with the style you’re using.
SFMC: Good stuff, as usual. I will never figure out how you are so precise and sloppy at the same time, lol. Great looseness. I think the blue ground shadow is throwing me off just a little bit though, since there isn’t really any blue on the shadows on his body.
Man, it takes a long time to type up them critiques, hehe.
Here are my Charlie’s
A little more exaggerated than I usually draw, but I’m reasonably happy with it:
