Hehe, after bouncing from hijacked wireless connection to hijacked wireless connection, I finally was able to get a connection decent enough to upload, and the site has been updated. Only 13 entires for Bison. Do people not like him?
Vega-X: Interesting color scheme. I agree with the others about the lighting. I think the facial structure could use some work. It feels just a little bit, I dunno… gooey. Try to really plan out and nail down the planes of the face to help make it feel more solid. Oh, and I forgot to ask before. If you’d like to be listed on the participating artist list, please give me your info.
DFist: I meant the dark area right below his feet. Looks like he’s still standing on it to me. I understand what you were going for now though 
I think a lot more splashy water and mist trails would have done the trick.
Danjuro: Cool Ken dood, and welcome to the challenge. I think some more time spent sketching and planning before finalizing the drawing would have helped with the proportions. They get jsut a little weird here and there. His left arm compared to his right arm, for example. Post me your info if you want to be on the artist list.
VSlash: Hehe, very interesting look. I like that you experiment with lots of different art styles. I think out of everyone your pics have varied the most. Pencil drawings, pen drawings, that high contrast thing you did with Sim, and now this digitla mixed media/slightly graffiti-like piece. Definately interesting look, although I’m not sure how to critique it since it is so different, lol. Maybe some brighter glowey colors to his eyes and hands to make them look more like he’s got that psycho power goin on.
EEK: Hehe, you don’t read SRK anymore, so you probably won’t read this, but I’ll critique it anyhow. Very cool idea for a drawing, and I love the little gags thrown in. Your linework is very good, but I think the feathering is just a little on the rough side. Also, since there is a lot going on, either some black shapes, or some thicker containing lines would help bring out some depth.

I just didn’t feel like doing a bison. So I did that whatever it is right there real quick on Friday night.
I guess the reason I do so much different stuff is because I’m basically learning as I go. I have a style I guess (the animey pictures I draw) but I’m not set on it because I still have so much to learn. We’ll see what happens by the time this contest thing is done.

that Bison one makes me think of CD box art… font + dimensions of the pic. The warm highlights on his shinguards and the cold blue glow confuse me a lil’.

whoever designed this version of the Flash Kick must think Charlie has nuts of steel… he’s basically doing a mid-air split and nailing the other guy with the heel of his boot.

Rook - Do’h on the charlie pose. That is mad coincidence. Time to step my game. As for bison, I wanted to show like firey highlights coming off the side but I kinda got lazy with it. Also with the blue. As for yoru joint, Its mad nice man. I’d suggest you bring charlies pants into the light though. they kinda dark back there… they hungry for some highlights.

I totally agree, on hindsight I don’t think I used enough contrast in my colours…
Also, I should have planned better and used warmer tones when I did the colouring, esp for his upper torso. Right now the cool fg makes Charlie recede into the warm bg.
dAMN rOOK THAT cHARLIE IS MAD NICE. Ack caps lock on. Only thing I would suggest is to unify the blue bg and his warm skin. Maybe throw some of that flesh tone into the blues, or even use a warmish blue fade. Overall this is really nice and I’d say you are alot better than you were before.

Nova. Sweet set man. Keep going at it. I like the palette you used for both pics.
Star. That’s something new I haven’t seen yet. Cubistic style. Maybe refine your shapes more. Maybe pop the dominant features out and tone down some of the structure. Overall keep at it. Colors look nice.
