I did a reshading of my Gen since Chain thought it might look better if there was more shadow on the front, but I’m not sure which one’s actually better. I kinda prefer the old brighter one but that’s just me. Maybe I just didn’t do the shadows right… meh. Here’s both side-by-side… use whichever looks better.
For some reason I think if there was a white grin in that shadow, it’d be an instant fave of mine. Thanks alot you guys for all the compliments, even though I suck. I completely whiffed that hand so I could avoid further shame. :xeye:
Bandit: Good lookin Gen. The skintone could use a darker shadow. Try drawing bigger to give yourself more room for details and delicate lines ^_~
greyhoundbus: Best. Zangief. Ever. Only comments I really have are that it looks like there may be a few muscles you gave him that don’t really exist, and that I’m not a big fan of the funky filter sky. Other than that, I love it.

VSlash: Very nice sketch. I like the detailwork you did on his hair and beard. I think the composition could have been off centered just a bit to avoid having his hand directly beneath his beard. If you look at just that part of the picture, it looks like he’s holding his beard. Hehe, gotta be careful of tangents like that.
Kandoken: Very nice, man. He looks quietly deranged. That hand looks good to me. It’s got the right form happening, and that’s much more important than detail. The only funny thing to me is the way his forearm connects with his upper arm. If you took away the sleeve, I’m not sure they would connect properly. Very minor nitpick. Hehe, that’s when you know you’re lookin at good work though, when you’re left to nitpick on little things. Keep it up, dood.
Heh… I did exagerate the musclalature there quite a bit. Any extra non-existent muscles that show up were intentional :bgrin:. It’s Zangief! He’s one big non-existent muscle!
I’ll try to reshade Gen more like what you have. I won’t be doing it all over in a watercolor style like in your example, though(but i don’t think you meant me to). Thanks for that suggestion!

Yeah it looks like he’s just grabbing it and not stroking it. I noticed that after I drew it, but didn’t take the time to fix it. I want to say I’m just not interested in Gen, but thats no excuse for bad composition.
Still don’t know what I’m going to do with Zangief. I’ll give some one so much rep if they draw a picture of him and Darun whats his face from Street Fighter EX.
Hey folks this is my first time post on this thread, but I’ve been veiwing lookin at your Beastly artistic drawings of the SF characters and there da bomb. Since I’m back in school I can use a scanner finally since I don’t have one at home.=[ So I’ll try to do some characters as well and hopefully I can get my work on a pc if possible.

I like that sketch a lot. That is a pretty odd expression on Rose’s face, though… She looks lost =p. And there’s cards flying out of her ass! 8D Kidding. Good stuff!
Bandit: Hehe, whoa there man. That Gief is pretty, uh… erect. Both in the groinal area and in the nipples O_O Pretty cool though. He’s like Hamlet Gief. Considering the condition of his crotch, I’d say he knew poor Yorick verrrry well. The musculature is a little funny, mostly around his collarbone and neck. The top of the collarbone is usually fairly obvious, but the bottom usually blends into the pecs pretty well, so we wouldn’t see a line there. The back muscles connecting to the neck(traps, I think) also shouldn’t come back down before meeting the neck.

As greyhoundbus mentioned about the cards flying out of her butt, you gotta be careful of how things line up, or sometimes elements in a picture will fit together in a way not intended. That said, it’s still a great sketch! Post me your info so I can add you to the participating artists list. Can’t wait to see Gen!
Hanzou: Very beautiful Rose, man. I think there are some small tweaks that could be made to this pic to realy bring it out. I think she could use a bit more head. It looks like underneath her hair, there isn’t quite enough space for her cranium. I think her mouth could also be moved up a bit closer to her nose. Having the mouth too low can give a slight monkey-ish appearance. And lastly, a few shadows look like they are missing, like the underside of her nose, and the shadow that her hand would cast on her face. Great pic, otherwise! You’re gettin quite good with the style.

nice facial expression, my main gripe was that her hair points one way and the cards blowing another. Sure her hair is weird but I think it should at least follow the wind to some extent

nice job with the CFJ style. I like the overall effect, although I feel that she’s got too much black on her forearm. Chain covered the “needs more cranium” aspect already.

nice job, liking the colours and the almost-diaphanous scarf. I do think her trapezius muscles should be relaxed if she’s leaning forwrd, though… she doesn’t look comfortable. I think the scarf draping over the rail is nice, but it should hang over the back a bit more before looping over the rail.
