Im wondering, how does Lili go against shotos in general, or vs chars with good walkspeeds that can outfootsie her, does she have something besides divekick to avoid low attacks?
Against shotos, you’re basically playing ground footsies with their fireball more or less out of the equation because of her anti-fireball options (unless it’s Juri or something…and that’s Juri, nobody has a good day). Against better footsies opponents, you have to basically play better footsies. You have a DP variant in HP/ex counter, and you can get in for free with EX sunlance, kinda like Yun’s EX rush punch in AE, but besides that, you have to just hold your ground with your normals, such as cr.MK, f+MK, and the like.
It’s not the prettiest, but it’s not terrible either, and Lili already holds a huge advantage in that she shuts down most of the air game in the cast.
Augh, I honestly hate how sunflower lance goes over crouching opponents at times. I need to train myself to not use it so much in combos
I actually use it a lot, just do cr.LP, cr.LP, cr.MP into sunflower Lance then it will catch em.

I tend to try and stand at the f.MK - M.P range to get it, but I get hit out of it so much, when is the correct time to throw it out?
also, what normals/what are you guys doing to keep people from getting into the cross up jump range where df.HK dosen’t work? once they get a cross up jumping I feel its so hard for Lili to escape pressure
also: what are you guys doing to safely tag out lili- I find its so hard to find a safe way to tag out when shes under pressure
Use that f.MK-MP poke pretty far away, it’s actually has some distance. Just need to time it right, if they don’t jump in when you’re expecting one then just poke em.
Use EX Sunflower Lance to score a free ~300 damage if they keep poking you out, or try to use HP Counter. I think regular Sunflower Lance works too, but that’s way riskier. Honestly, getting in at mid-range is the toughest part of Lili for me until I go with the derp option of a hit-confirmable special that’s +2 on block and whores damage into a knockdown on hit.
I believe you can use st.MK to combat most cross-ups, or jump back air throw.
Any character that jumps a lot vs Lili is dead, that’s no problem. My problem from Hugo stems from his lariat. It gave my Rolento problems too, until I just started using his cr. strong (multi-hits) and raw rekkas (again multi hits) to get him out of the super armor that lariat has. Lili however has no multi-hitting normals (that I’m aware of) to hit him out of Lariat, so if he does it right as you f.MK, you eat a full lariat combo (target combos aren’t fast enough, at least not f.MK-MP), unless I’m missing something. I just do not get to play footsies and pokes with Hugo, and I have to pray he’ll jump.
Yeah, Lili has a hard time beating Hugo’s lariat. Honestly, at that range, you can still hit f.MK-MP, just make sure to play real footsies and block a lariat occasionally. Hugo can’t actually throw out lariat for free.

How in the hell is Lili supposed to fight Rolento? The dude’s mad safe when he’s pressuring, and he can get in on her too easily. Countering only works so much!
Alpha counter patriot circle, tag cancel it for a full combo.
How can he get in on her? She still has f.mk and s.lp/bedtime. His offense is awful if you don’t fall for idiot pogo shenanigans which are actually unsafe if you hit him out of it.
Backdash midscreen to reset out of s.lp pressure. He has to sweep to punish this, and that’s very unsafe.
He’s -1 on patriot circle. If he’s close enough for s.lp afterwards, it’s safe to press.
Bait EX patriot circle when he wants to tag by making it whiff, SF4 style. Backdash or jump and then punish him.
How does Lili fight Zangief?
I’d also would like to know because this, imo, is a tough match for her, mostly because of Gief’s lariat shutting down most of her jump options and giefs got some amazing pokes lead to solid damage. What I do when I get the life lead on him is play as lame as possible, you just don’t want to get close. Watch out for wake up super, its 0 frames and you can’t jump it on reaction.
Well depends, Usually you’d want lili 2nd in your order. Most people will have hugo or zangief first. So use a good first character to counter against them. You don’t even wanna Jump in on a Gief, bait out their lariat and then punish it with a combo. If they Jump in then you can combo off that too.
Sorry if this question is ridiculous but what are reversals? Are they that block/immediately forward+attack where you glow and counter?
