That would actually weaken her quite a bit. Having it knock down would be fairly key. Against someone like Dee Jay and Guile, the knock-down is everything. Breaking past their defense is so much NOT fun that she HAS to rely on knock-down and then wake-up mix-ups to win. Even faster, I don’t think it would help enough without the knock-down.
Why do you have to inject your little college boy insults into every post? Are you even capable of disagreeing with someone without attempting to pick a fight?
You aren’t worth my time. You want to discuss issues with me, show me a modicum civility.
Turtling works really well in this game. We all know that. I have to suffer it daily; I beat some guy’s Blanka or T.Hawk or Fei Long with Cammy, and the very next game he picks Sagat or Dee Jay or Guile, determined not to make the mistake of mounting any kind of actual offense. Half the time, I’m actually relieved when they go to Honda, at least I know they aren’t going to back off and just throw projectiles all match. That sh!t is boring as hell, and I can’t understand how anyone finds that MORE enjoyable than fighting Honda. Playing Honda takes more balls than spamming fireballs or doing some ambiguous zig-zag flying circus bit.
Is that really a fair comparison? Again, that is an example of a one-strategy-for-all-comers character, like Guile and Claw; as Guile turtles vs. everyone and Claw does the flying monkey b.s., so Akuma spams air hadoukens and works on inescapable raging demon set-ups, no matter who he’s fighting. What game plan does Honda have that serves him well vs. everyone?
Don’t know that I agree with that, can’t say one way or the other.
I do know that I’m fine with Cammy as-is in HD Remix, though. Maybe allow her cannon drill to go underneath sonics and max-outs in the latter half of the move (no drilling sonics on reaction), but that’s it.
Then why do you keep posting obviously false information about it?
And still on with the “college boys”? Come on dude, you’re what, mid-30s? Time to move on. Although to be fair I did take Insults 101 my freshman year.
So who agree’s with me that Classic ST is more balanced than HDremix? Anyone? I think with Akuma and Honda (the way they are) tosses a monkey wrench in the whole “balance” issue for HDremix. Doubtful the patch will fix any of this, so have we had enough time to make any conclusions?
honestly, if hawk had his old dive along with new dive, input glitches/active grab frames added, and a slight tweak on his dp, he’d be much better without being too good. hed probably be right above ken id say, maybe slightly higher.
really the DP is the most important part. i was hoping theyd do something about that. its ridiculous that even when i guess right against oh i dunno 100% of the cast and psychic DP, it still whiffs because like the only hit box he has is on his head
Personally I think what Hawk needs is some anti-Guile and anti-Honda moves. He has a really hard time in those matches, but I can’t think of anything that would significantly improve his chances.
The improved DP hit box would help big time. his dp will never ever hit guiles crouching kicks unless hawk is point blank. its a little ridiculous. dont tone down guile, buff up hawks dp.
Yeah and I’m a Honda player, its frustrating seeing all the Honda hate. Same way I hate seeing Chun-li hate. Or Boxer hate. Only character I play that doens’t get hated on is Dee Jay
I guess if I don’t like playing as Fei/Cammy/Gief I’m a scrub
Akuma is broken in both ST and Remix. Does it really matter which game he is more broken in? I believe he should be soft banned in this game just as he was in ST.
As for Honda, because of his buffs and nerfs, his tougher matches in ST have become slightly easier in Remix and his easier matches in ST have become slightly more difficult IMO.
To have every single matchup in the game be completely balanced is a nice dream to have but it’s one that is pretty unrealistic. All characters have their tough and easy matches.
low-level and intermediate matches are the last thing we should balance around.
Honda has a rather large advantage on Gief even at the advanced level, so it’s no suprise that beginner and intermediate Giefers would lose to Honda for free.
The same player who was abusing Gief should play some players of zoning characters that know what they are doing to see Honda’s disadvantages.
That’s why Honda players defend him - when you stick with him, you end up having enough hard matches against decent players that you learn the weaknessess of the character.
And that’s why beginner matches should in fact be discounted. If we went by beginners, some beginners would say that Honda beats Ryu and would nerf him in that match-up too, when amoung advanced players, Ryu actually still has an advantage.
Listening too much to beginners could lead one in the opposite direction with regard to balance changes.
The fact is, a matchup can only truely be evaluated between players that know the characters inside and out because a lesser player might wish for a tool or a counter for a situation that their character already has.
It would be like a Honda player thinking Honda needs help vs. the crossup because he loses headbutt charge, but doesn’t know about block and oicho - a beginner honda player thinking Honda needs more help vs. crossups would be laughed out of the room by the Honda haters.
Don’t start listening to noobs just because they support your position.
Too right, I fear a game in which every match is 5/5. People should stop and think hard about what it would take to achieve that, and what kind of game we would ultimately have. (I get visions of Mortal Kombat, with everyone having the same height, same normals, same movement speed, etc.)
Bunch of fighting game socialists on this web site, wanting equal outcomes for all.
You aren’t talking about me are you? I’m not a noob and I don’t have a position. I can just empathize with beginners. The opinions of beginners usually vary so widely anyway it would be impossible to balanced based on them.
That was my main point actually - they are human biengs too and their experiences matter in a cosmic sense, but we cannot, and should not balance the game around their experiences.
I’ve personally found nerf that to be a huge “simply.” Not knocking down means no loops, thus no classic shenanigans.
Are you talking about ST or Remix? I have mained Claw and played Claws in HDR, and I’ve only really seen dive games in mirror matches post-nerf.
More quotes: “doing some ambiguous zig-zag flying circus bit.”, “Claw does the flying monkey b.s.”
This wasn’t in response to me, but while still not very excusable I think this is somewhat invited by making repeated, pointed assertions like these Claw dives - regarding Hawk’s 360s, for example, in light of designer-cited and user-described evidence. It looks like you went on to ignore the subject without either acknowledging that you were mistaken or crediting the other responses. I don’t think it’s very reasonable to demand respect of argument when it’s not being given.
