Chaos Breaker (by Eolith) coming to PSN!

There are 40 items but only 32 are selectable. I’m pretty sure the mutation stone is the only way to get the other 8.

I’ve been working on the srk wiki.
http://shoryuken.com/wiki/index.php/Chaos_Breaker_(Dark_Awake)
It’s pretty barebones at the moment. And will probably remain sparse for a while. Till console release, or till someone who can translate Japanese comes along. Using online Japanese to English dictionary is slow work.

GET HYPE! AAAAAAHHHHH! (uploading the next tournament)

Kali damn you, tataki. I need to actually do work some time.

Interesting. Personally, I doubt I probably would never use it since I’m not for risks at all, but the idea itself intrigues me.

Just ask Azrael or someone else who’s currently in Japan (Reno, HeartNana, etc.) politely. I’m sure one of them could at least speed up the process a bit.

I’d help but I barely remember the Japanese I took four years of since I haven’t had to use it in five years. So I’m useless; big surprise there.

Got bored and decided to translate a few of the items:

Healing Potion - Life Recovery - Use Count: 1
HP gains alotted at the end of the round are larger than normal.
SA - 20% HP Recovery.
IB - Fire a fast single shot projectile.

Mana Potion - Mana Recovery - Use Count: 3
SA - Increases your Mana bar by 50%.
IB - Fire a fast single shot projectile.

Power Bracelet - Increased Attack Strength - Use Count: 3
Critical rate increases.
SA - 20% increase in attack power for a duration of time.
IB - A pillar of light extends out to the top of the screen in front of yourr own character. Little damage.

Scroll of Mana - Increased Magic Strength - Use Count: 3
Magic Attack increase.
SA - (Unspecified percentage) increase in Magic Attack power for a duration of time.
IB - Flame geyser erupts from the ground.

Holy Symbol - Life Recovery - Use Count: 3
SA - Recovers less than the Healing Potion, but can be used multiple times.
IB - Large orbs of light rotate around your character. 3 to 4 hits.

Protection Ring - Increased Defense Strength - Use Count: 3
SA - (Unspecified percentage) increase in Defense Strength, and smaller percentage Magic Defense increase, for a duration of time.
IB - Blue column of light extends out around the top of the screen in front of your own character. Similar to Power Bracelet’s IB. Little damage.

Amulet - Increased Magic Defense Strength - Use Count: 3
SA - (Unspecified percentage) increase in Magic Defense Strength, and smaller percentage Defense increase, for a duration of time.
IB - Geyser erupts from the ground.

Master Ring - Move Cancellation - Use Count: 1
SA - From what I understand, you can basically just cancel moves and such into each other that you normally would be unable to, making it a sort of Feng Shui Engine sort of deal.
IB - Pretty much identical to Hellfire Sword; Flame Geyser.

Invisible Mantle - Causes Transparency - Use Count: 3
SA - Apparently this activates at the beginning of the round without having to drain a Use Count. Transparency ends when you are hit, and occasionally your character will re-materialize extremely briefly, like Twelve’s taunt from Third Strike. Also, it seems that there are some properties that cause invincibility while in this state, though unspecified.
IB - A “Power Geyser” fireball.

Medal Of Strength - Resist/“Hyper” Mode - Use Count: 1
SA - Allows your character to enter Resist Mode. In Resist Mode, you are invulnerable to move hit stun, much like Bishamon/Hsien-Ko/Sasquatch’s Dark Forces in Vampire Savior. You still take damage.
IB - A 3-bolt vertical lightning strike. 1 hit.

Mutation Stone - Changes Form - Use Count: xx
Depending on your team roster and the order you assign them (the order you choose them at the Character Select screen does not matter), you will get a random item. Rare Items, otherwise unobtainable, may appear.

Demonic Figurine - Critical Rate Increase - Use Count: 1
SA - Critical rate increases for a fixed amount of time.
IB - Same as SA.

Seven Keys - Increased Magic Strength - Use Count: 3
SA - (Unspecified percentage) increase in Magic Attack power for a duration of time. Not sure of the advantages this has over Scroll of Mana.
IB - Flame Geyser erupts from the ground.

Book of Disaster - Zone Hazard - Use Count: 3
SA - Numerous spikes shoot out of the ground to attack the opponent. Opponent can be pursued after hit. Apparently a difficult item to fully utilize.
IB - Small flying bombs.

Magistery - Magic Defense Increase - Use Count: 1
SA - Magic Defense increases for a fixed amount of time.
IB - Same as SA.

Chaos Ring - Physical Attack Down, Magic Attack Up - Use Count: 1
SA - Decreases physical strength, but magical attack power rises greatly.
IB - Thunder Pillar. Maximum of 7 hits.

Fang of Manticore - Summon - Use Count: 1
SA - Summon Manticore. Reaches the upper edge of the screen, then attacks with it’s tail. On hit, causes a great deal of regular damage as well as “slip”/white damage.
IB - Summon Manticore. Anti-air.

Dragon Scale - Dragon Force - Use Count: 1
SA - You become encircled in flames. Hits several times.
IB - Flame attack to cover half the screen in front of the character.

Hellfire Sword - Stat Increase - Use Count: 4
Attack +10% damage, +10% magic attack power. Rare Critical chance.
Lambda-specialized equipment. Lambda has a shot at +30% attack power, + (?%) magic attack power.
SA - Guard Break.
IB - Flame Geyser erupts from the ground.

If nobody else gets around to it, I’ll try and translate the rest over the next couple of days.

DAMN!!

Bonehorse and Naked Sorceress look awesome!

Thank you Ghostal

Anything for this godlike game, man.
I just translated the japanese wiki, so I will have all of the stat increases, damage reductions and alternate effects for all the items tomorrow.

Here’s one more though, just because the reason for picking Earth Hammer on a Curse Head team makes so much more sense now:

Earth Hammer - Attack Strength Increase - Use Count: 3
+20% Attack Strength (universal Possession Effect).
Cursehead-specialized equipment. Cursehead gets a 44% increase in Attack power(Possession Effect).
SA - A smaller fissure in comparison to his IB, but better damage. In the corner this can apparently set up a pretty dangerous loop. Can be juggled with B.
IB - Multi-stage fissure. Low damage, but apparently has good oki options. You can also juggle if the IB hits as an anti-air.

Lmaooo yes, let’s give the 2nd most damaging character in the game an item that gives him an almost 50% strength boost and a corner loop setup, lawdyyyy

Every video I see with Troll in it, he’s always wrecking shit. Seems like he has a better version of Juggernaut Headcrush and a command grab into super that does ridiculous damage. That being said, he’s definitely got a spot on my team

AAAAAAAAHHHHH!

After watching all that, I have to say I don’t see the point in picking less than 3 characters. Unless you know you can rock that infinite with Nsidor all day, but even then, stack the deck with some backup chars.

I could see people getting away with two characters and two items, but yeah, it seems like it’d be difficult to get away with one…unless it’s Nsidor.

Nsidor looks the opposite of awesome unless you mean purely from a character design standard point. Dullahans (or however you spell them) are indeed rather cool, but he just looks like a stupid asshole gameplay wise.

Also, does “Naked Sorceress” refer to Nagar (snicker) or Fina?

Get less hype.

Regardless, thank you for the translations thus far, Ghostal.

Are…we watching the same videos? Because he seems to get his ass kicked half of the time since he’s so damned big. Shining Bow’s IB in particular seems like it rapes the shit out of him.

Hey, thanks. But can I get some calrification on a couple of points?

“Has a shot at” what does this mean? Random? EDIT: and he says that Ramda’s attack and magic power go up by said amounts. Nothing random.

And on the wiki, the specialized equipment notes for hellfire sword and earh hammer both mention something about the the effect being temporary or something, but you left it out of your translation. EDIT: Ok, just spoke with a friend. He says that they do chip damage with their normals moves. o.O So I guess it’s not any sort of temp thing.

Well I never seen a character that rides a horse before in a fighting game, that’s why he looks pretty cool.

Fina looks sweet, I guess that Nagar chicks is annoying tier or something lol.

Yeah it’s not random, that was just a leave-in from a mistranslation on my part. All of the characters get guaranteed Possession Effect boosts for their own weapons without spending any meter or anything. So Lambda will always have that attack boost. Bear in mind that these translations are very incomplete thus far, I spent like 30 minutes on them haha, just want people to get a general idea of what they do.

lol

Really? I mean, yeah, he’s fuggin huge but seems to do well enough in most videos I’ve seen him in. Grappler types most always have difficulties against projectiles, in your example the full-screen one, but he’s not gonna heave to face that every single time.

http://shoryuken.com/media.php?do=details&mid=2729

Above, Troll does his thing.

I’m guessing there’s no real point in picking the item first on the order select screen if you have one, correct? It just seems like it defaults to C+D.

Meh, most of Street Fighter Collab sucked, so it’s really not surprising.

Oh, please don’t misunderstand me. I’m saying he can’t win. It’s just that in my limited experience of the game, currently restriction merely to viewing, he looks he’s going to have problems against most of the crew. Then again, the other non-humanoids–Orc and Goblin and, I suppose if you count the dwarves, the dwarf with the axe that’s only been used once–look like they’re even worse than him; the non-humanoids look kind of crappy in general, though.

He does look interesting, if only because of that grab and because at least one version of his headbutt seems to have hyper armor or straight-up invincibility. However, he seems really meter reliant, a huge target AND he doesn’t have nearly as much range relative to his size as characters half his size do (since basically everyone in the game has a weapon; hell, the only person with less range than him is Evetta and she has a bow in addition to her dagger).

But, meh, I don’t know. I’m far more interested in the magician characters, especially the necromancers and Skullmast…er Bernard, than I am anyone else, so…

LMAO, Speak for yourself…
This is Excellent news. Guess there’s no point in hounding pcb sellers anymore in helping me find this game… :shake:

So I had a question and did not know if anyone here can answer it…

Do items stack?? What I mean by that is, say you have a team of Ramda and Curse Head, and you have their items on which are, Earth Hammer and Hellfire Sword. Now the stats on those items are kinda worded weird but it seems like while Ramda in playing he will have +50% on attack and when Curse Head is playin he will have +54% on attack, while both have access to a guard break once or more a round. Seems kinda good to me. Really I guess once we find out more about the Equipped Items we might find out if the stats stack.

This game is getting better and better to me all the time, I am going to be all over it.

I can’t make much sense of the Japanese wiki, so I don’t know if possession effects stack like that. But you definitely have access to all your items with all your characters. I’ve seen a Ramda with Hellfire Sword and Nightmare Blade using the unblockable stock actions of both items to meaty unblockables every chance he got.

I looked all through the wiki and couldn’t find anything saying that you could stack item possession effects…but I also didn’t see anything saying you could not. There’s really no reason why you couldn’t. If you were running 2 man, 2 item teams, you would need as much of an extra boost anyways. I guess we will see when the time comes. In the meantime, I went ahead and translated one of the tables on the wiki, it’s character specific Possession Effects (attack-based). The left percentage is Physical/Stroke Attack boosts, the right percentage is Magical Attack boosts. I’ll keep churning out something new every few days; keep everyone hungry. Work is just crazy right now.
