Changes for Morrigan in UMvC3

Looks substantial to me - nice work!

I can’t believe you actually did the math…I hate math

I should confirm it against some of the other Marvel characters, but I honestly don’t care that much. I’ll post any corrections when he shows off the Capcom character’s mashed hypers though.

Just a note for those not following the general thread, someone on GAF got an early copy of the game, and started a private stream. He was generous enough to demonstrate some Morrigan for me, and Morrigan’s minimum air dash height seems unchanged. She cannot air dash at base ground flight level nor after doing qcf.L, qcb.S, qcf.H.

Could she perform Shadow Servant after air or command throws?

If he had tested other things of interest, I would have made note of them.

Where do you get this number from?

From what I saw in the video, the extra damage varied depending on the hyper. Some of them actually only get like a 10% increase in the video.

Yeah, you never fought any Akuma anchors with Morrigan in MvC3 did you?
There is way more than enough recovery for her to be beamed no matter where she is on the screen.

I used Hail Storm since I was familiar with it’s damage values - Hail Storm does 13,000 per hit, 35 hits normally, for an unscaled damage of 455,000, and a "raw damage of 282,900. Max Demonstrated that the “raw” value of Hail Storm was unchanged, meaning there’s has been no change in Storm’s minimum hyper scaling, which is 38%. The fully mashed hyper had a “raw” damage of 338,800, and increase of 55,900 damage over 34 fully scaled hits. That’s roughly 1644.118 damage per hit, and we know these are all minimum damage hits, so we can divide that value by .38 to obtain the “unscaled” value of the hits - 4326.625 roughly. Divide this number by the base value of an unmashed Hail Storm hit of 13,000 to obtain the damage percentage, and you get approximately 33% of the original hit value. The overall percentage of damage increase over the “raw” amount is irrelevant except in reverse engineering the value.

Like I said, I should go back and confirm this with some of the other characters, but I don’t care *that *much unless someone nags me.

Don’t you hit minimum air dash height after the air Soul Fist H in that sequence if you simply TK the command? She seriously ends like a pixel or so off at that point. All this really matters for is how easy her tri-jump is though, as her flight speed is virtually identical to her air dash speed anyway.

Maybe you do, I don’t normally use it. The point was to demonstrate whether it was changed, and it seems not to have been.

What did Dr. Deelite tease you with regarding Morrigan, Noone?

You can always XF cancel the recovery if you’re that worried about it any way.

Read through the air dash nerf thread in general if it’s still there. At one point I dropped a huge list of what she would need to make up for it, and he teases that she may have gotten quite a bit of it. Which is why I’ve been running under the assumption that the extra frame advantage from her throws will allow of them to be followed up.

I think throw -> Shadow Servant is a safe assumption. It would be really weird for Capcom to make her recover faster but not actually allow anything new to happen as a result, haha. I’ll give that thread a skim - thanks.

Magus going in with that Storm/Dorm/Morrigan on Ultimate NorCal. Showing off how good DH is.

yeah and that AV + Xfactor has some crazy mixups, it’s hard to tell which morrigan is real because of the shading.

Sorry if this is old I haven’t been keeping up with the thread, but…

On the Norcal stream I just saw someone block a normal in the air, immediately air X-Factor then do Morrigan’s command grab.

Well from the norcal stream I just saw someone do Vector drain, or Morrigan’s air grab to Shadow Servant Super, (I just saw vector drain animation so wasn’t sure wether it was air throw or command grab)

Yeah, but I don’t feel Storm is the best choice there. Ice Storm is too random. She’d be better as a second character to DHC into for big damage.

Yeah, air throw to Shadow Servant worked.

Air throw, she doesn’t have an air command grab. >.>

morrigan is going to be a beast…her tri dash is too quick to sit there n try to punish
