This game is a train wreck, and no I haven’t played, and I never shall.
The whole Street Fighter engine will work forever, but until capcom updates the shitty sprites and starts drawing from the GIANT character pool they have, the games are going to be stale to me.
If they make a Capcom fighting Jam 2, lets see a HUGE character revision. Put Snake Man in a fighting game, what about Dante or the Jean Reno ?
This is like the election all over again, I mean how can anyone believe that this game is any good.Just like ppl who voted for bush. If you give them crap then they’ll keep feeding you crap.
in osaka this game seems to have lost a fair chunk of its popularity in the last week or so, partly becoz of tekken 5 it would seem.
sf3 characters seem to have become popular recently as well. i got savaged by a really deadly yun today too, he’s not low tier from what ive seen of him recently, urien does pretty well too.
personally i enjoy the game. its no vampire savior but i find it much more enjoyable than any recent 2d fighter since 3S. the game so far seems pretty balanced so far. And the learning curve is about where i think capcom wanted it. the characters play in familar but adaptation is still required. i mean our local yun player was able to do what he likes to do and compete. sure hell have to learn some new timing and his damaging juggles, but as of now hes not bitching “yun sucks, this game is crap”. the matchups are fun, meter management, and counter characters add some strategy. plus its easy to tell that capcom payed attention to all kinds of details strategy wise. take alex for example. alots changed and his exs kinda suck, but is throw game is improved. its quicker and hes got some new setups. they realized this and what did they do? they took the stun of his powerbomb.its little things like this that give a good feeling about the game. not the lazy backgrounds or the lazy interface. our local fighting community is giving it a chance so i guess thats not hurting my opinion but it managed capture the attention of those who play one fighter and nothing else. the game isnt perfect, but so far its fun and i like the roster. not too small, not too big. will my opinion change in a few months maybe, but as of now the game isnt a waste. oh and the graphics arent that big a turn off as most of the passersby showed genuine interest. bear in mind this in an arcade of soul calibur, doa , gg nerds.
Wish I had an extra set of hands to give this pile of shit 4 thumbs down. I’m not a graphic whore by any means, but there is NO reason why this game should look so shitty. Don’t even get me started on the gameplay.
Wow that’s good to see Capcom are doing well financially again
I wonder if Capcom can’t produce to the same outstanding caliber as they have done in the past because of the current staff. People may be complaining about a company that has no control over bringing out a superb 2d fighter because the people simply aren’t there anymore to make it. So the ones that are left try to emulate what has been done in the past but somehow fall a little short in some fans’ eyes.
Wow, 64 to 36 in favor of CFJ! Good idea with the poll, Fritz. My faith in this site is slowly being restored. I guess the people who are happy just don’t bother to post. And the haters post because…well, you can’t be a hater if you don’t actually bitch at anybody.
I wonder how many of the people who don’t like the game actually practiced for a good hour and played against a human opponent for a while.
Well, if thats the case, they should hire out a group of guys that knows what they are doing to make us a GOOD street fighter. Kinda like how Capcom used to pimp out Psikyo. Hire arc systems, give them a budget, and have them do a Street Fighter 4.
