CFE/CFJ is definitely good stuff. I hope we get a sequel (or at least a few minor improvements in the XBox CFE game).
Oh? KOF has ONE new sprite/character per game? KOF has 23 characters only? KOF takes three years to make? KOF has Demitri-Versus-Alex sprites?
Even being released every year, KOF NEVER sank as low as CFJ (which took THREE FUCKING YEARS).
And if youve voted positive for CFJ, wouldnt you be saying KOF is good, then? Great, even, considering each KOF has twice the characters and half a dozen or more new characters each year…
By the way: KOF 2002/2003 pack for US$ 39,00 - with more than twice the number of characters available in CFJ, option for OST or AST, option for 2D or 3D backgrounds, option for original or touched-up sprites and a whole lot of new characters.
And best of all - The previews for this are actually positive, unlike CFJ… KOF never got a 4/10 or 5/10 in a review score, you know. It certainly wont get such laughable low scores.
BLAHBLAHBLAH, always the same people who want to argue for nothing.
Anyway; haven’t played CFE yet…not sure if I want to; everyone’s either saying it’s ‘solid’ (not the best term for a fighting game - imo of course) or like CvS2…in that case I probabl’t won’t get round to playing it.
We’ll see. ;]
I bought the game yesterday. I like it. I’m not 9th level tournament Yugioh master like some, but I belive the game is good. Granted the presentation is subpar (worse than SVC but better than KOF 2001). But the idea was pretty cool to match the characters from different games with their perspective systems.
I wish there was more replay value in single player. The game needed a gallery mode. Also, a mission mode like Virtua Fighter Evolution or Soul Calibur II would’ve been great. Parry 10 times. Execute a 50 percent damage custom combo. Do the Raging Demon. Defeat a level eight opponent. Survival fight against three opponents, etc.
Solid game. I’m just pissed the roster isnt bigger.
Yay.
Bought it just to support Capcom. Turned out to be fun.
cfj is fun…i really like it…my only beef with it was the graffics, the characters are too pixleated like there just cutouts…the backgrounds are cool, you dont need off the wall backgrounds anyway, not like your looking at it while your playing…as for characters,it has a good number,i mean its not like your gonna use all of them,mvc2 has 56,only like 8 are played…oh well, its a good game
The general consensus from the people who like it seems to be “well, it doesn’t totally suck”.
I like it, I voted Yay! cause 1)it’s good to have something new to play and 2)the matchups are intresting.
Only time will tell if it stays around!
I would say rent it, just so you can say you played it(unlesss a friend of yours has it then play that). I can’t say I’m all that impressed with the game. Like someone mentioned in another thread, it feels incomplete like they were testing something out for the next fighting game(an update or sequel). I’m just not feeling this game and I’m glad I rented it. I’m not a hater or Capcom fanboy(which this game seems to be made for), I’m just someone who doesn’t care after playing it.
This game = pile of shit.
I feel bad for them too. doesn’t own a single SNK game :bgrin:
This AV is from back when KOF2K3 was a big deal. I don’t really play the KOF games on a regular basis.
And regardless of whether or not KOF is rehash, CFE is still trash.
This is my two cents…
Sit down and play the game for a few hours, yeah i nkow you tards who can’t stand looking at it will argue about that, but really sit down and play it for a few hours. I HATED CFJ when i first got it and played it for the first couple times, but after a while it starts to grow on you. why you ask? 1) This games graphics aren’t top notch, no new sprites (fucking fan boys), but it still looks good at some points (silly shit like SPD on Hauzer) 2) Music is low tier, till you unlock the old SF2 themes (GOD TIER) 3) Gameplay is REALLY wierd to start, but give it a few hours and you’ll be familiar with it, and start to realize it’s true potential. This game so far has an awesome sense of Balance, and contrary to what people think about the game being recycled blah blah blah, the game works surprisingly different from what you’d expect it to be, just read the CFJ strats forum. One of the reasons why Capcom doesn’t give us an @#%@#^%#$^$# awesome new fighting game is because we never seem to support anything they do. All people sit here and do is trash it, and then go buy it when it doesn’t matter because, ALL THE GUYS THAT’VE BEEN PLAYING IT SINCE DAWN CAN DO CRAZY SHIT AND YOU CAN’T. Don’t make CFJ a 3S, make it a success, it took how many years for people to start appreciating 3S for the way it should be?. Show Capcom that the fighting community is ready to support the fighting game scene and make it so that it’s WORTH it to make a new fighting game that is state of the art. Instead of being damn hypocrites and begging for somethign new but when something rolls around all you do is bitch and whine about it.

My biggest gripe is the fact that the game is extremely limited.
Most every game that came before it from Capcom gave you variety. It let you played how you want to without completely stripping the game away. So if you wanted to turtle, you could do that, if you wanted to rushdown, you could do that.
Obviously you can do the same in this, but the more videos people see of this the more reptetitive it’s going to get. Every Guile player is going to player EXACTLY like every other Guile player, every Felicia player is going to like every other Felicia player because that’s all they’ve got to work with.
I mean I’m all for one and going back to the basics so to speak, where footies and space management where more important then roll canceling through a super, frame killing an assist, or FRC’ing into a dust loop, but this is boring even for me. I mean the match vid on CV.com has to be the most boring match I’ve ever seen from a new freaking game.
sigh
Thats very inaccurate, CFJ took a year to make, two years were spent on capcom fighting all stars which they decided to scrap. So if anything I guess if you don’t like the game, Capcom sank as low as SNK  ?
Or maybe it could be because they know they can pump out lazy crap like CFJ and people will still buy it. After all, why waste money making a new game when you can just slap a bunch of your old stuff together and get people to pay for it again? Besides, if the fighting game community didn’t support Capcom, we would’ve stopped getting fighting games from them, rehash or no. Simple as that. But we haven’t, so obviously somebody is buying Capcom’s games.
And nobody supported 3S because they were all too busy riding MvC2’s dick at the time. omg magneto infinites omg!11
This is true, and there’s something to be said for that. It does feel somewhat like CvS1 did in that respect, and if Capcom DOES decide to continue this concept, I believe that they can make a great game, similar to how CvS2 was completely superior to CvS1. I may sound a bit too hopeful, but it’s possible.
and i feel bad for mof’s like u that waited three years for a game like this to come out. and have your whole world crushed by EGM when they gave it a 6.5. damn son i no it’s hard for u i think u should suck it up and try a KOF game out. or you can go back and get beat up in cvs2 or marvel for another three years.
this is almost as good as Bush Vs Kerry
i love being Canadian

i bought it yesterday and just can’t get into it at all. i’ve never been more disappointed with a capcom release. and am i the only one who actually likes the way KoF looks o.o? at least their characters match their backgrounds…
