nice thread
GG MOP THE FLOOR N00B
cvs2 is balanced?! :wow:
and I see jedah as having more of an iceman complex⦠where everyones like WOW!OMG SO TOP TIER⦠but give it a few, and thingsāll die down
While I see this game doing well for a bit, I think it wonāt last very long, seeing as how there really isnāt all that much to explore save the Red Earth characters. Time will tell.
LOL @ CvS2 balanced statement.
jedah also not having a knockdown attack also limits his rushdown options. he has no sweep. if he had a sweep, he would be much deadlier, but without one, he cant keep an onslaught going. anakaris on the other hand, will have massively tricky rushdown if he can do half the shit he could in vampire saviorā¦
Thank you Viscant, this makes my day.
Now, for my thoughts on Jedah, the ONLY way Jedah is a threat, is if the guy using Jedah has absolutely NO chance of making a single error. Why youāre seeing so much of Jedah now, especially in Tokyo is, while the SF(fill in the blank) players ARE around, the VS scene is actually a stronger pull for this game. Most of the CvS guys are more interested in still playing CvS. The VS guys see this as an opportunity. āLetās see what our system can do on characters that donāt have our natural advantages!ā
Like SaBrE said, he has no KD, and he has shitty AA options. I personally have made Jedah scrubs turtle the fuck up with Karinās j.MK, and sometimes with Gief splashes. And Iām not even a blip on the US scale. If I can do it, you can.
So far, everyone has some form of counter char, by either individual move advantage or game of origin system advantage. Gief can own a lot of people up, particularly chars that have no other way in through his ground pokes other than to jump, then on top of that having shitty jumpins(Felicia comes to mind), but heās balanced out by practically the rest of the SF2 chars(Guile in particular)ā¦
Just give the game a fucking chance.
jedah is fucking wack. heās a keepaway fuckface. rushdown characters seem to fair a lot better then turtles, even though there is no guardbreak in the game and teching throws is pretty easy.
iām sure felicia and mukuro will be better in the end rather then jedah.
And if that times comes, it will come after heās played the game more, so you wont be able to fault him then. You, on the other hand, have played it for only a month. All Viscant is asking for is to give this game a chance.
i still canāt get over yun being crappy in this game it makes me want to cry
People are freaked about Jedah? The fuck? Anarkis was a bigger threat to me. Catching up to Jedah was a pain but once you did you could hurt him bad. Anarkis had solid rushdown and runaway, so he was much harder to fight. But I havenāt played against a good Anarkis since the betas, so I donāt know if they changed that.
Not counting Anarkis/Jedah, my top 3 are still Mukuro, Guile, and Karin. Iāve played against enough Mukuro to know how hard he is to fight. Guile is good for the reasons heās been good before. Karin is just solidā¦imagine her in A3 with all those who were better than her in A3 taken out.
Iām still enjoying this game very much.
LOL just go back your #R, Baiken tithugger, and let the CFJ fans be. :razzy:
Co-sign. It appears that there are as many Jedah nuthuggers in Japan as there are in the USā¦=/ I wish for every decent Jedah I rape, thereās an Anakaris that will eat my lunch so Iām not caught by surprise on my next trip to mainlandā¦
Can you please elaborate? what exactly were these Mukuro players doing? iām having a hard time scoring good damage with mukuro, and it seems nobody has posted any strats with him. maybe you can help? thanks.
^Iām not a Mukuro player, so forgive the non-technical terms.
Slow knife. The thing is annoying as hell. If the opponent jumps at you, use s.roundhouse (?) as anti-air, itās great. You can even combo his fire column super off it. If they donāt jump at you, pressure with one of the long range chain attacks.
Really, that goes a long way. By the time someone gets around the knife and chain, and big anti-air foot from hell, theyāve probably lost a nice chunk of life. Itās like the Warzard version of Guile sonic boom traps.
Last weekend I played against a guy whoād jump at me, and alternatively use the air cannon. Iād try to anti-air, but just get smoked by the cannon. So then it became a guessing game, and sometimes that gave him jump-ins for free against me.
When I did get to Mukuro, I got hit by a lot of counters. So then I had to be careful about what I stuck out.
Thatās all I can remember at present, the guy I saw last weekend was good but used Karin more than he did Mukuro. Iām hoping to go back to a-cho this weekend so Iād like to get more playing time in and see what else is going on.
Iām guessing once people figure his shit out his popularity will decline. In the final days of the betas people werenāt even picking him that much, I saw far more Ingridās and Karinās.
There aināt much to figure outā¦=/
Hmmā¦I wonder if KKK Lariat avoids his ES Specials?
how long does it take to truly understand the dynamics of a game?
much longer than cfj has had thatās for sure, too early to tell either way imo.
EDIT:
mukās good but i dont think thatāll last long. he has trouble scoring damage and needs to be played very carefully to be effective. sure if you can do that youāll win but as ppl become more used to him itāll be harder for him to win imo.
at the moment the two strongest characters iāve come up against have been ingrid and ryu. ingrid has crazy mind game with her lvl one super on characters waking up, sheās also got all the tools required to play virtually any opponent (delayed wake up with invincibility, roll, good fb, reversal, cross up, etc).
ryu does huge damage and has a crazy wait game with fbās and s.HK, c.HP or dp as aa. he also has the new āmulti multi purposeā spin kick.
one thing i do like about muk is the fact he can smack a fireballing ryu with the s.HP from almost full screen lol. youāll prolly eat the fb though
Iām glad my spam post reached out to a few people. =)
New game = same dumb premature analysis.
Well done to Viscant and Beez for pointing out what should be blindingly obviousā¦its not been out long and the hidden depths of the game havent been discovered yet so peeps need to calm down AND EXPLORE THE GAMES POTENTIAL. Kinda like 3S, it takes time for major competitive elements to show themselves. I play a lot of games and a hell of a lot of Vampire Savior so I know exactly how Jedah plays. At first I thought he was annoying but given time he gets BEATEN UP because there are gaps in his rushdown as he needs time to establish ādominanceā of a round (FYI, Gallon beats him bad). From how he plays in CJF Iād say the same is DEFINATELY true. Granted, I need to play this game more heavily to be more qualified to speak on, but my feeling is that people need to stop posting hype on what they THINK is gospel after one week and just PLAY.
Which is what I intend to do nowā¦c ya :karate:
We can always wait for the next big cheese to be unveiled, then we can start a new thread about that. =)
