I have some built and ready, I can have them shipped the day following the order. If you pop in an order tonight/tomorrow I can easily get it in the USPS drop box tomorrow night after work.
Either way, if you’re in the US flat rate is like 3 days, so pretty quick.
Got my Cerberus in, installing it into a SCV stick, I needed to do the same thing as mistcore to get the JLF connection to seat. Otherwise everything is looking clean outside of the ps3 giving me a USB Device not recognized if I turn it on while the stick is plugged in, plugging it in after turning on the system works just fine.
So has anyone successfully installed a Cerberus in an MC EVO stick without cutting the mini-board out of the main PCB? I tried to fit one in today and the bottom case won’t install back on due to the stacked board pushing it out. I’ll probably have to go the mini-board route, but wanted to see if others had luck. Thanks.
You can cut the standoffs like I have in the extra install section, if you don’t want to do that then it’s the small section only pretty much
Awesome, and thanks for the head’s up. I think I know why it’s doing that and it’s an easy fix, I’ll likely have a FW update by the end of the week for ya.
got the cerberus installed in my fightstick pro, everything is working great and the install was very easy.
didnt have the problem described by mistcore.
i am however experiencing the same issue that papertigre described, the ps3 wont recognize the stick if the ps3 is turned on while the stick is plugged in.
must unplug, turn on, plug back in
Okay, so now that I’ve tested installation on a stick it fits on by default, time to have some fun and install it on this MCV2 TE I’ve had sitting around for a while using the smaller part of the PCB.
I know where everything goes, outside of the RSX, LS,RSY,RS,LSX,LSY points corresponding points on the TE board. It’s technically non-vital, but I want everything to work
If I can figure this out, (or get it answered lol) and the turning the system on with the controller gets sorted, this’ll be my go to pcb for this sort of dual mod. I just need to figure out the best place to fit the tiny pcb <3 I have a few good ideas…
Soldering to this reminds me of working with PS2 modchips. Not sure at this point if thats a good thing or not lol
@mr. mortified do you have anything between the pcbs to insulate? I’m thinking of a similar location, but I don’t want to short anything… i may just put some electrical tape on the underside…
You could use a small bit of double sided tape to hold them together while doing the soldering also, it’d also create a nice buffer space between the boards from any components touching. Either way, flipped upside down like that there should be little chance of a short.
For RSX, LS, RSY, RS, LSX, LSY, just ignore them all except LS/RSY and RS. Those two are literally the LS/RS points on the TE.
The other signals (RSX, RSY, LSX, LSY) will be used in future firmwares, they don’t do anything right now.
As for the turning on the system w/ the controller problem. Expect a fix this week, maybe if I have some time tonight I can crank out a quick fix… I know exactly what’s wrong so getting it sorted won’t be a problem. Just something I overlooked in my haste.
@ hadoken_ Thanks for the great pictures, I’ll link those up as an extra reference for people doing that install
Coolcool. How long would it take to ship? I get paid tomorrow, so I may just order this before leaving to Revelations. Just want to make sure shipping isn’t super special fast so it’s not sitting at work for a few days (and I don’t trust this getting shipped to home…people like to steal stuff. ;_
so quick question i ordered one of these and this is going to be my first mod ever. Is this easy to do, and do i need anything else to make it work for my madcatz chun-li stick, or is the cerberus all i need?
