Meant no harm lol. I don’t have a crew, I’m a lone warrior, you guys are BLOOD NOW. And next time will be on a Saturday so it won’t be a problem for Prince.

Said person would be me.

I can’t knock Mike (Miyomei): some of it was seemingly over the top but its what it is. I was appreciative of the consideration you gave me when I asked you to keep it down. I wanted to see what I could do against a player like Joe Grey without distraction, even if it was casuals. After my feeler matches, I already knew it was hype time, and its something to get used to, especially if I’m looking to improve my tournament performance. My MP3 player got a lot of use that day.

Could you please come over my head and hype up a Guile mirror match next time?

I was hecking/trying to hype too, but I didn’t have the 4loko voice. :frowning:

people who don’t take the game as religion always make this game better

i haven’t seen this heckler, but much respect

Real talk…

Emminent made the tourney for me during winners finals, I’ve never laughed so much and gotten so much hype in my life. I think I’m looking forward to the next tournament for the hype and the jokes. Along with the leveling up of course lol!!!

headphones are a great soundblocker

if that is not your style, just ignore them and let your game do the talking

Like I said, building hype is cool. I just wasn’t feeling the direct disrespect you were putting out, especially telling people not to shake hands after matches. I get that it’s your M.O. and all, so I’m not trying to cramp your style, but damn. Maybe it’s just a running joke in the scene that I don’t get yet.

If I had been playing in the tourney and it got to me, I would’ve. Instead, I just went and played games in the arcade and came back to watch friends that were playing from time to time.

I’ve been to a few, and some events, but mostly just bigger casual gatherings where everyone knows each other. I’ve seen and participated in trash talk, but your version just came off as spiteful.

As for ‘having guts’, like I said, I’d have come to you if it was personally a problem during matches I was in.

I’m probably misunderstanding, and on top of that, my original statement was made because I was assuming that Jebailey never said anything if you got a little out of line (which it sounded like you did, and he did say something, so I was mistaken there) and it looked poor on his part. After hearing from both of you, it sounds like I just caught the bad and none of the good, mostly because I wasn’t at the tourney or match area the whole time.

Again, I appreciate what Jebailey has done for the FL scene and want to support him. He’s got my respect, and I’ll probably consider coming out again (and maybe even entering, this time).

RE: Sisqo: Nah, but I can’t knock that dude for trying to rock the pink shaved head.

Personally I didn’t have a problem with MOST of it, but the whole “spread hate don’t shake,” garbage makes you come off as a pretty big douche bag to anyone that doesn’t know you (which includes me…and everyone else that came down from Tallahassee). You wanna get behind your dudes and make fun of my shitty play (which you did), that’s fair game, expected, and fine. I was actually very surprised at my ability to play my normal game despite playing a superior player and your yelling. To be a better player people have to be able to keep their nerves regardless of the racket going on behind you, so it’s all good.

Encouraging people to be a poor sport though, win or lose, is just retarded.

Spread hate don’t shake is just a joke in the community. Jebailey said it at the beginning of my first tournament and the crowd laughed. Everyone I have played has showed exceptional sportsmanship towards me and my friends. Thanks for the tourney’s Jebailey =)

If you can’t concentrate while someone is yelling shit at you than you will never last in EVO lol

Thank You Jebaily for always hosting the best tournaments and being professional and punctual with results and reminders. Much kudos…

And Stan… loud but FUNNY as HELL… Stan is the life of tournaments, if he’s annoying just tell him and he’ll stop dude, seriously.

Anyone who takes “Spread Hate, Don’t Shake” seriously needs to, uh…take it…less…seriously?

Stan’s mouth runs ahead of him sometimes, but he’s harmless and you should be able to easily tell from context that his “You’re garbage” stuff isn’t serious (particularly when directed at players of Jo Gray’s caliber; Stan’s loud but he’s certainly not stupid). More importantly, if you actually LISTEN to the shit coming out of his mouth it’s pretty easy to tell that he’s generally very respectful of people, and he only gets loud for people he knows (or at least has a pretty good hunch) that can handle him.

Case in point, my match vs. Flash first round. Stan got loud for that one, and I got the usual litany of “Block button!” and “That don’t work!”, but I never once got the sense that he disrespected me, and thus his hype didn’t really bother me at all or affect my performance (even though I still lost). Like pretty much everybody watching, Stan knew I was outmatched, but could recognize that I was playing honestly and doing a fair amount of things right (although obviously I could have done more), and most importantly, that I wasn’t so fragile or easily distracted that one loud spectator could take me off my game.

If Stan were talking crap about your mom having cancer or your sister killing herself or something depressingly personal like that, THAT would be inappropriate. But when you’re competing in a tournament, for better or for worse, you’re putting your appearance and your skill on public display, and when you do, it’s subject to public critique. You shouldn’t be letting superficial (and largely good-natured) teasing about your haircut or your Street Fighter skill get under your skin.

tl;dr: If CJ and his parents (holy crap but they’re patient, I think I see where Chris gets it from) can take it, so can you. There’s no need to be offended on somebody else’s behalf. If Stan goes off on YOU personally, feel free to get mad, but let’s not go around fighting other people’s battles.

I wish Stan hyped showers and deodorant :frowning:

The fact that I was asked to make an announcement in order for people to stop farting in the set up area was far worse than anything Stan could ever say or yell. Some people just need to get a little 4 loko in their system.

But people keep posting, make sure this thread stays on the first page.

The only way Spread Hate, Don’t Shake could make me come off as a douche is if the shirt I was wearing was Jebailey tight and made by Ed Hardy.

Give Hugs, Spread Love? > There I changed it for you. Its a joke lol.
Even the people at the T-Shirt company called me up and said it was hilarious and said he used to play at the old B3 tournys back n the day and he liked it.

Also, its fun to make fun of shitty play, theres no excuse for it in a world of online and tutorials, this isn’t a GameStop tourny what do you want me to say? Sorry your garbage? I make fun of myself at this game, I’ll play Super Street Bomberman DJ Hero 2 if everyone else was playing it. Doesn’t matter to me. Its like you said its about concentration, adapting and playing someone better than you, its the whole point of these tournys. But if people are gonna be complaining about yelling at tournys they’re gonna have to move to Japan if they want hypeless/noiseless play. Sorry.

As boring as it would be to watch I’ll do it.

For me it was a sunday.

It had to be a problem that affected you personally if your posting about not coming to another tournament but as you can tell from peoples above comments I. DONT. FUCKING. MEAN. TO. HURT. YOUR. FEELINGS!

Also, next person to talk shit online about me and not know me is getting High Fived at the next tourny.

In summary:
SPREAD LOVE…GIVE HUGS!
Sip a 4Loko and smile.

p.s.
Im seriously making a “Spread Love… Give Hugs” shirt especially for Tallahasse.

I thought I had made it pretty clear, but my problem was not you, it was the way I thought (which was mistaken) Jebailey handled (I assumed he did nothing) the situation when you got a bit out of hand.

Yea i agree, in my matches Jebailey and other Orlando/Tampa players have been respectful. The people getting hype are just trying to make the match more exciting, especially with hilarious commentary.

I’ll be at this.

Yo Stan, you are the funniest blackest white dude I have ever met. Much respect. Keep doing your thing (AS! if you would have stopped…lol)
