And Jebailey I see what you do for the Florida Community, more so for CFL… keep them tournaments coming. It only gets bigger and better right?!?

We are thinking about doing a separate Smash Brothers/Brawl Tournament toward the end of the month. I dont have the staff nor the space to do both. Good idea though, thanks.

Any need for extra setups/copies of the game? I know not all the BBCS setups at EXPCon had all the characters unlocked so if you played Valk/Mak you had to wait until someone else was finished :\
Imagine a vanilla SF4 tournament without all the console exclusive characters unlocked. I think most TOs would go to great lengths to fix that immediately.
Let me know if you need a PS3 with full DLC characters (+Mu) unlocked, I’ll bring it. I’ll be buying Platinum first day as well if she comes out in time.
Cannot take another event hosted by Jebailey seriously when he allows hecklers to annoy the absolute fuck out of you during tournament matches. Disrespectful on the part of the one guy, and looks sloppy on Jebailey’s part. Pass.
(Disclaimer: I didn’t even participate in the Rocky’s tourney, I was just there to watch and I was STILL annoyed with that guy.)

in addition, this behavior happens at almost every event I have ever been to minus small local ones. In my opinion, it is almost a staple at them. If hearing people yell, talk trash and “heckle” annoys you during matches, you should just bring an ipod/mp3 player and some headphones. you won’t be bothered by anyone then.
the more hype matches get…the more hype the crowd will get. just gotta deal with it or find a way to ignore it.
I don’t blame him for the guy’s behavior, but I think it should have been policed/handled a bit better (or at all, really). I was told that he was part of Jebailey’s crew, so it seemed kind of rotten to have a friend of the TO’s heckling strangers during matches.
The worst part is that he wasn’t even shouting funny shit, or even tactical advice. He was just being belligerent for no reason at all.
He was actually part of the tampa crew, not alex’s.
On a side note…I thought it was funny as hell and so did a lot of other people, including CJ’s mom.

For the record all of Tampa is my friend but not a part of my crew, I DID ask Stan to calm down during matches as you could of heard me saying Stan SHUTUP already. But I’m not going to ask someone to leave unless there are direct threats on any players or over abuse of players.
I was only aware of him yelling at players that know him already and can handle the outside pressure. And I know this can make me look bad in the long run to a lot of new blood but sometimes even a TO can’t control everybody. Look at Season’s beatings, did you even watch the Daigo/Andre match, If I spoke English and was Daigo I probably would of went kung fu on the entire crowd. It’s a part of Fighting game Tournaments that we just can’t get away from.
To compete on a high level you have to learn to block out the annoying people in the background and focus. If this scares you away from coming to any of my future tournaments then my warmest apologies. I wish you luck in finding a tournament without heckling and be as fun as one of mine.
In Stan’s Defense,2 things. If Cj Truth a 12 yr old boy can handle a heckler and still place 3rd at a tournament then it’s a personal thing, and 2 Even though Stan got annoying as shit, he was also the first person to jump at the chance to help me clean up at the end of the day.
I spent most of the day playing games in the arcade, but I am glad to see you took an active role to calming it at some point. (It should be noted that this aside, I think you did a great job of running this tourney.)
He shouted in matches that friends of his were playing in, but it was usually directly to the guy playing against them. I practically grew up in arcades and play tons of Marvel, I’m used to the hype and trash talk. On the other hand, this wasn’t a crowd getting hype or a crew v. crew thing, it was the equivalent of someone at a Lakers game with floor seats and a megaphone shouting at a player the entire game.
There is a big distinction to be made between hype and outright heckling/disrespect. Stan’s actions were much more of the latter than the former.

You can associate me (Stan aka Eminent) to the person in question in the last few posts. Alex was cool enough to give me a heads up about this thread. I laughed at the fact that I (one person) could possibly stop someone from attending these great events. I rarely read/post on srk now and days but I feel somethings need to be said to clear the air.
Miyomei: You obviously have not been coming to any community tournys in the last few years, because anyone who knows me knows Im at every tourny and im just helping to build the hype and things more fun. Heckler though? Doubt it. Having fun, yes.
Example 1: I was yelling during casuals and the guy playing said “I can’t take this, your too loud”, i replied “so?” but I respected his comment and shut up. Afterwards the fight he came to me and said “I know your don’t mean it, but actually keep it up, please build the hype for my next match”.
Example 2: Evo 2010…

Again, if I “annoyed” you, kindly say something, I’m a grownass man, be an adult as well and speak your concerns. Jebailey has done this plenty of times to me if things get too loud and what do I do? Shut the fuck up. I even spoke to the owner and asked him if my volume level was ok and he was fine with it.

Thats what its really all about, getting everyone to have fun, laugh and get hype. CJ Parents enjoy it as well, even at Evo they said “were glad you came Stan, you always make these tournaments fun”.
Alex is right, Im part of Tampa (OSAN Crew and Titans), so do not let my or any of Tampa’s antics reflect Jebailey or any of his tournys. As much as I make fun of him for the extra medium shirts, etc, he is always trying to do whats best for the community. Tampa, including myself come out, not to heckle but to show our support. Like I previously said, if Jebailey tells me to keep it down, I comply, Im a guest, its his house. Also, if I do clown someone its because I personally know them and know they’re fine with it.
Alex thanks for mentioning blocking people out btw. Miyomei, if you’ve been to any tourny or game event you have to know noise is part of the game, either get used to it, get some headphones or stay the fuck home. That or have the guts to say something to me and we’ll take it from there.

Let it be known, this post was not made to try to defend myself because my actions speak so much louder than me (and my voice is hard to top, I’ll admit it). Miyomei, whoever you are, you need to come out more often because anyone from Florida to New York to Cali will vouch on my behalf that im making everyone have fun (including a 12 year olds parents), how many people can say that? I apologize if you think its in my nature to be annoying but I wont apologize for being hype and having fun.
Its sad to think that you would possibly let one person stop you from attending a event, that doesn’t say anything about me but says something about who you are. No one is going to try and change your mind about attending because (in summary of what I said before) your completely misunderstanding my intentions. If you do decide to come out to the next event, I invite you to have a conversation with me and see what im about.
