yea I had those random cases when i was running a brawl tourney for 2 years at an anime con at school (yasumicon). i had a guess of 30 from smash community would show, then another 30 more outsiders from the con participate. sooo yea, there’s gotta be 60+ ppl outside the forums coming to CEO.
anyways, i need to start slapping flyers around melbourne this week lol.
Now this I can agree with. After pushing my game for the better part of 2 years, I can now say that it is a lost cause, but I did put so much into it , so it is hard to get me to admitt that it is dead. I travled this state trying to get people to play this shit and it just did not take. Not my fault.
Yeah I really do not like Super 4 but I can now see how people do not like TvC, they just do not like it. Shit on me man. People will buy what they want to and play what they want to, with that said, this game is supposed to follow up MvC2, if you look all the players in MvC2, they did not get the memo or…They just do not like this game. When you fail at keeping your core gamers, you fail at everything.
Thanks for the helpful words. Tell me like it is more often I just might listen.
Ultras can NOT be changed by the victor. So if you win with Bison the first game with U2, you have to use U2 again next match, even if U1 is clearly superior to your opponent’s counterpick in game 2. This easily might make a difference in the outcome… there’s a definitely a mixed bag of opinions in that thread. I think the winner SHOULD be able to switch Ultras if he so desires. Just my $0.02.
*** If this was previously posted in this thread, my apologies, I must have missed it. I just heard of it a little bit ago, and was kind of surprised.
“The memo” being “Marvel 2 was too fast and scary (even though tons of people bought it, played it, and loved it with no idea what unfly was or even how to wavedash); let’s neuter this down to a less interesting version of Guilty Gear with beloved Japanese cartoon characters that America has never even heard of”.
I don’t really play Marvel but I definitely agree with this viewpoint; for all its supposed “brokenness” you could do amazing things with a well-formed Marvel team in terms of space control, combo utility and overall versatility…you don’t get any offensive or defensive patterns that are nearly as exciting to fight and/or defeat in TvC. The game’s characters are differentiated enough, but none of them really have much in the way of HOLY SHIT, THIS IS AWESOME mechanical craziness that you could find even among the lowliest characters in Marvel.
When you’ve already passed through fire just to learn basic competitive competence in the crazy world of MvC2 – when you’ve learned how to fight and defeat the likes of Magneto offense, Cable/Sentinel zoning, and Storm offense/runaway – why would you settle for less in TvC, which is supposed to be the new face of the Versus series?
MvC2 is a very weird game, but there is no other game like it – certainly not TvC. This game is NOT a “follow-up” to Marvel 2.
Ding-ding-ding.
The reason you don’t see all the Marvel heads in Florida turning out for this shit is because (with some rather good reason) they just don’t like TvC. To them it’s nothing but Marvel’s slower-moving, retarded little brother. Quite frankly, even as a guy who can’t play Marvel to save his life, I think they’re right.
the statements are simply comparable on the matter of brawl vs melee. only the arguments there get pretty stupid and out of hand. mechanics, gameplay, tactics all can relate to the issues to the debate
Working with Plank from Smash has been a great success so far. Luckily his Jewish incite has convinced me not to waste 225 bucks on an electrician minimum just to set up power strips and such down the middle of the room. So This is another call out to the community. If you have any power strips and extension cords please let me know Via PM and such. Any help would be great on that front.
Also I paid the deposit today and while driving by I took note of the place to eat. Walking distance is an iHop right across the street. Within a Mile is a Popeyes, Mcdonalds, Burger King, Arbys, Wendys and an Oriental Market full of asian cuisine. Just wanted to give everyone a headsup.
the oriental market is the size of publix… and they have mostly chinese BBQ for food boxes. but there’s a viet restaurant in the plaza, a taiwan bakery, and a karaoke place.
