Central Indiana Gaming

Jesus, holy cow i want to come to this. I used to live in Indy and would love to come. I live in Central Illinois and have no comp for 3s here. Can anyone give me any info?

Actually it just so happened that sidewalk flyer policy was something I had to look up for a class a week ago and it just popped into my head. I’m pretty sure you can use the several bulletin boards around campus in the various buildings, particually the dorm halls.

Cool cool. Well, I finally have a little time on my hands to start planning this thing and such so any input would be great. As said before, the weekend before Thanksgiving would be optimal, probably the Saturday of or something.

I wouldn’t mind coming to it. I think Purdue is only about an hour away from Broadripple.

I am running into trouble finding a place. There is one guy offering his place, but it’s off campus so that might be a problem for some people. If I wanted to get a classroom, then we would have to wait about 2 weeks before we can use it.

If anyone has any ideas, you can IM me, PM me or just post a response in this thread.

It’s official. The meeting will be this coming Saturday from 7pm - 10pm in the Tarkington TV lounge by Boiler Junction, (thanks to Shaolin Samurai for setting up the rental space). It would be great if it were longer, but that is the longest that the room can be rented.

As far as games that will be played, it depends on how many TVs we can get. I am pretty sure that SC III and 3rd Strike so that might be the top ones. But others that we can add are CvS2, MvC2, Guilty Gear XX or whatever people feel like playing. In order to get this set up, however, I will need your help with TVs systems and games. I could probably get the TV provided no one’s watching it at the time (I’ll give proper notice) and I also have a PS2, XBOX, and Gamecube to offer to play games on.

There is one caveat though. I might have to shorten my stay there if my group doesn’t get stuff done for the design project for class. I will be there to set up and I will try to make it there for a little bit if the case were to turn out that way. I am committed for this to happen to help unify people and such in Purdue and Central Indiana (and help out with my social skills)

Alright, anyone have any PS2 to XBOX controller converters? It would be nice to use sticks for things like GGXX.

Yo, it’s a few days until Saturday and nobody else has come forward with equipment. So far, we have my systems and games along with ycwang. Remember, I will need your help with equippment. The systems shouldn’t be a problem, but TVs are what we need most. Either reply on the forums or send me a PM about what you might want to bring.

Wow! That was fast

Hey, I can bring my sticks for the x-box and a system. I do have a TV but it’s quite small. Anyway, I have no clue where this is. Also, how many people would be coming?

Oh, the games I can bring are anniversary edition, CVS2, KOF2002/2003, and SvC if anyone would like to play that. Let me know what games you would like to play.

Please let me know by tomorrow.

Tarkington Residence Hall

The TV lounge is located underneath the main office, right next to the rec room which is across the Boiler Junction minimart. Just ask anybody inside if you’re not sure.

I’ll be bringing a shitty old TV (about a tenth of the screen is cut off at the top), and I can provide a PS2, Xbox, and GC (if anybody wants to play SSBM). I have CvS2 and SF:AE for PS2.

So we’re probably good on consoles, bring your sticks/pads and games, but if someone else could bring a decent TV we’d be in good shape.

As far as turnout, I’m expecting maybe 10 people tops?

I might try to come out to this. Post if that’s alright. I am always down for some third strike.

Of course, the more the merrier.

It’s been quite a while since I posted here, lol.

Anyway, I definitely plan to be there on Saturday, although I’m definitely rusty with fighting games at the moment. Not sure yet whether I’ll be bring a TV and/or my Dreamcast though. I can’t wait to get my butt kicked:bgrin:

Let me make sure I got this right. 7pm at talkington hall. Anything I should know about parking, getting in, who to look for? I’ll bring my an. edition arcade stick and the xbox version of sf:ae just in case there are a shortage of sticks.

When I run map quest I get only an 1165 stadium ave and not drive. Is this adress nearby stadium drive.

1165 Stadium Ave is the place, it’s called Drive on the website and and other places…

Nothing special as far as parking goes, A, B, and C areas are free to everyone on weekends. You should be able to find a spot at or near Tark. Once parked you should head in from the north entrance, take the stairs down and go through the doors on the right. You should see the Boiler Junction minimart on your left, and the TV lounge is just ahead on the right.

Just make sure that you pay attention to where you park. The police are out to get you.

Just look for the signs that say that the rule is only enforced on weekdays which might be found on the west side of Tarkington or at the Co-Rec. These spots are few and far in between but they do exist and since it is almost Thanksgiving break some spots might open up.

I’m just hoping I find ya’ll allright, since I’ve been lost in resident halls before looking for a certain lounge (like Meredith). It’s been a while since I’ve been to Tark, but I do believe I remember my way around. I’m probably just going to walk there.

Purdue Map

Well, it’s 6 hours until the 3 hours of fun! Above is a little map I made of the area. The place circled in blue is Tarkington Hall, which is where the place is at. When you get there, just enter the enterance that is facing Stadium Drive (the red line at the top) and head down the stairs to the TV lounge.

The green circles are a few places to park if there isn’t any available in the immediate area. Just make sure you READ the signs cause the police are nazis out here. The closest place is the Co-Rec parking lot which is just across the street from Tarkington.

The red circles are the roads that you might want to take. The horizontal line at the top is Stadium Drive, the other horizontal line is State Street (State Rd 26) and the vertical line is Intramural Drive. Tarkington is on the corner of Stadium Drive and Intramural Drive so you will know you are at the right place. I may have screwed up the road names as far as “drive, or road” is concerned, but there is only one Intramural and one Stadium so just look at those names.

Hope to see you guys there.

I just got back from chicago at 5 in the moring and got a bunch of stuff to do today. I still might come out though form some third strike.
