Castlevania: Lords of Shadow thread

Yeah I know but you still have to sit through the attack animation which still wastes seconds, unless you can skip that too? :stuck_out_tongue:

I forgot to drop this off because I am too busy raging at trying to collect the 7th emerald in Sonic 4.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow sequel in development - Report - News at GameSpot

So I only need 4 more gems anyone know where the life gem on chapter XI - level 1 is?

Edit: Nevermind I found it, got all gems now :3

I just beat the Second Dark Lord. That shit was hot.

I’m towards the end of the 2nd chapter and this game just bores me so far. Once the second titan popped up I was pretty much done and haven’t played it since.

This feels like a cheap GOW knockoff, and there’s too much boring, overacted narration. Gabriel sounds effeminate and annoying. I guess the name is pretty effeminate too. The gameplay is boring and the game generally feels like a chore. I can’t believe they made me hate to hear Patrick Stewart’s voice, but they managed it.

I keep hearing it picks up after awhile, so I might keep trying but man I’m just waiting for New Vegas and I know I won’t care about this at all when that comes out. I should be able to grab NV around Wednesday hopefully.

I kind of figured on the ending. If you’re a Castlevania buff you should have been extremely suspicious when you heard his wife’s name and saw a bunch of these other clues. The game was so boring I wound up looking for the spoiler, and then for a little while thought maybe I should play through it to see how they execute it, but then I read that there will be a DLC that gives you the actual ending since they purposely cut it off. That made me want to finish the game even less. They’re discussing a DLC for something that important for a game that just came out. That’s just pathetic.

I might as well ask how many more Titans there will be. I really despise bosses where you have to do something extremely specific like the Titans where you have to look for somethings specific and climb around, do QTE and hit an isolated part a whole bunch of times to get a precanned finish. That just shows me the designers have a complete lack of faith in their own gameplay mechanics and have to hide it behind something else specific to the bosses.

My honest opinion is that they were going to make this a different game, but realized nobody would buy it because it’s not very good, then slapped the Castlevania name on it and tried to act like that was their plan all along. I would ask Sep but he probably can’t even say if it was true.

I wish there were more light/shadow upgrades like the flame claw and whatnot. Those actually look like upgrades. The other thing is that I wish the meters filled up more or used a recharge system. Trying to farm orbs in a battle isn’t really fun to me.

Just beat it too.

Epic.

I’m by chapter 5, The Lord of the Lycans Fight was amazing. I’m really enjoying this game a lot more than GoW at the moment. Has a lot more crazy cinematics also. GoW I really beat the whole game no lie just doing the basic Square, Square, Triangle combo. not really challenging to me. Recommended this game to a few friends and now there hyped about it  Question what’s a good place to gain experience?

your going love the 3rd dark lord battle then.

i agree with tiz epic game.

I came when i heard the Vampire Killer song on the music box level.

I’m almost there. In the Flame Cemetary now.

That was indeed incredibly awesome. It was so pretty to.

enjoy the final ride of a epic adventure

I loved the game up until the ending.

dun dun DUNNN

Spoiler

no Gabriel, you are the vampires.

and then Gabriel was Dracula

playing again on paladin just because I really liked the game up until the end. there’s supposed to be DLC to fill in the gaps right?

Yup, so I’ve heard at least, but seeing how this is a reboot [spoiler=]the ending makes some sense, it is also ironic as it is very similar to how the Dark Lords came to be. I speculate however, that in order to prevent others from using the God or Devil Mask, Gabriel took in that power and became Dracula. Remember what Zobek said to him in the end; it was like he hasn’t seen him in many many years. Zobek is seen as Death in this reboot, and Death was Dracula’s closest friend in the original series.
As such, it would seem that Gabe/Dracula was in hiding for many centuries upon taking in the Mask’s power.[/details]

Just beat the game. I really liked it and am looking forward to the sequel. With that said. WTF at the endign? lol. It was cool and I’m excited to see what they do with it but it was so fucking outta left field you can’t but be completely caught off guard by it. Least I was.

I’m only in chapter II, but the fact taht I’m not in the castle ripping shit up bugs me. I don’t want to play in all these areas. I don’t care about trolls and goblins and all that shit.

Of course, somebody spoiled the ending for me and now I see why I’m walking through all this shit, so maybe it’ll make it easier to deal with.

My only issue with the camera is this shaky cam shit it does, like a Bourne movie. It gives me a headache.

I’m there too. I want to get through this game quicker to get to that ending, but it just seems to take so long to get anywhere in this. IMO there are way too many cut scenes, too much narration, and it also feels like the level designs could have been a lot better. It just feels like I’m running under water or something rather than getting at a decent pace.

I can only play this game in tiny sessions for some reason. Like I can’t just tear into it and get a long extended play session in because it just feels so exhausting. I think that must be the result of terrible pacing issues, but maybe it’s just me too. I want to really enjoy this game but it feels like I just can’t. :frowning:

I actually like that you have to get the orbs in battle, especially on hard mode. It really forces you to use this mechanic (unlike what the reviews suggest, lol easy mode) and creates so much tension in fights when you’re low on health, and need to perform, when you need to hit a parry to get the meter started, etc. If you could just recharge it, you’d be able to run away and build meter, Gabe would be all StormStormStormStorm in the corner waiting for his magic to come back lol. I like this system the way it is for the same reason I like him NOT having square square triangle to fall back on. Stresses me out sometimes though, hard mode is actually hard? Who knew?

I must be the only person who saw this coming IMMEDIATELY after seeing the cutscene before the knight boss. I saw that shit and I was like ā€œyou know what? I’m clicking on those spoilers, I know how this ends.ā€ And sure enough…

It was more the setting honestly…

yo wtf??? my game save just got corrupted and i gotta start this shit all over again! i was at the final battle, decided to take a break then come right back at it. The game starts and asks for the difficulty and the beginning scene starts…I WAS AT THE FINAL BOSS!

raging so hard right now, dont know whether to cry or choke somebody…if anybody know what couldve caused this, please tell me…
