very nice tech man, im gonna try to find similar stuff with jamsession. Do you jump cancel every hardkick and then adu m buttergun etc / addf for more pressure accordingly or only for specific ones?

Yep, I dash/jump cancel every hard kick in pressure. Someone told me about it and told me to try to keep it quiet, but that was almost a year ago and it’s starting to get out there, so whatever. Hard kick is a key component to Doom’s pressure imo. (f.H, jump uf, addf, f.H) is actually a blockstring and does well to beat pushblock. Dash/jump cancelled hard kicks just make it easy to confirm hits and keep up the pressure on block or pushblock. You can combine this with assists to make it nastier, like: (cr.L, f.H + beam, dash/jump uf, H dive). That sequence is a simple cross up setup on block most characters that aren’t too tall when crouch blocking. It’s actually especially nice with Jam Session in the corner, since you don’t even really need to think about confirming if the f.H hits (ie. cr.L, f.H + Jam Session, dash/jump uf, into a high or low or cross up).

By the way, when hard kick hits and you’re fast enough to confirm it, you can confirm with: (f.H, dash/jump uf, j.M, add, jump, j.L, H dive, etc). You can also side switch with this. This followup doesn’t work on the whole cast however.

Aight man im gonna try to incorporate it in my game more. I honestly almost never use the move, even though i knew it was supposedly pretty good.

I literally never use it, but it seems all the good dooms and using it and it definitely makes sense. I’ll make a note to start incorporating it into my game.

LTP was wondering about optimizing the combo off Doom’s throw option select. I wouldn’t be surprised if you can do a little better than this, but this combo is fairly reliable.

This is essentially the combo I was talking about in the other thread that could become his BnB from full scree, but instead it starts with F+H here.

Due to the way the first footdive hits, you can can use j. L, footdive, ADDF, S for the first two reps, doing that got me a bit more damage.

c. L, c. M, c. H, f. H, dash, j. M, footdive, S, j. L, footdive, S, j. L, footdive, S, j. L, footdive, c. M, c. H, S, j. L, j. L, j. M, footdive, footdive, s. M, f. H, j. M, j. M, footdive, footdive, did like 680k. I only tested on Ryu, Zero and Raccoon, no idea how it will behave on fatties.

If you reach the corner during the combo, you can do s. H, S to relaunch the last rep, it doesn’t change the combo at all beyond doing more damage.

Yeah, but going straight into a second S launcher is nowhere near as consistent.

I have a couple more damaging options, but this was a good compromise between damage and practicality.

It’s also full screen.

Thanks for the visual Duck Strong. I’ll probably stick to the (f.H, dash/jump uf, adu, j.MH) confirm for now, since that gives you more time to confirm. And thanks for the combo notations for stuff off of that confirm in the other thread, S. I’m still not too comfortable doing the midscreen Mazio loops outside of (j.L, H dive, addf, f.H), but I’m working on it.

Thing is, if you’re doing the Mazio loop with f+h, you’re kinda cheating yourself out of most of the extra damage.

S scales like a special move, so not only does it have more base damage, it also scales down more slowly than f+h.

Hello Dr. Doom players! I’m new to Doom and I have some ft10’s w/ SSE Wenster. I need help w/ my doom anchor, any help would be most appreciative. I hope you enjoy the matches!

Didn’t really watch too many, but:

  1. Saw a few instances where you would be full screen, and then you super jumped up-back to do a photon shot. If you’re full screen, you might want to try putting missiles on the screen. Missiles can be cancelled into team hyper to avoid certain punishes.

  2. A little more match-up specific, but you were letting Vergil come in with bad teleports (first video). I realize they were backed by missiles, but you still need to dissuade the opponent from doing it to give yourself space. Honestly, I hadn’t yet seen an H teleport from Vergil, so I would recommend just bopping him once with a standing S on reaction to L/M teleport. Standing S is practically safe on block and can even catch H teleport, if you slow down the timing a bit.

Has anyone played with that? What happens when the opponent pushblocks at different points in the mixup?

There might be cheap stuff involving pushblocks during the exact point Doom crosses under.
