Casa De Bayo - Bayonetta 2

Probably my only complaint about the game are the non-regular chapters. I’m not really fond of anything that isn’t traditional, on the ground combat for any action game (I’m looking at you, flying sequences from God of War III)

Bayonetta 1 has some of it (like the motorcycle or the combat on the water) and the second has its fair share too (I’m still on chapter VII).

I don’t really like fighting in the air or in the water. The fight should remain on the ground as much as possible.

In terms of games, I think that Bayo 1 was much harder, in terms of difficulty. The bosses required some sort of strategy to beat them. I got my ass handed to me a lot in Bayo 1, but when I beat them, it felt so satisfying. I probably died once or twice throughout the second game. Maybe when I try it on the 3rd Climax, I can feel otherwise. Bayo 1 had a lot more plot and bigger bosses. Bayo 2 seems more action packed and kinda predictable when I was about to encounter fight. I guess because Bayo 1 kinda conditioned me as to when to expect it (most large clearings/platforms). I was happy to see a lot of the angels from the Bayo 1 in 2 as well.

Like it was stated, to really get the Bayo experience, playing through both is a must. But, they’re are both fun, enjoyable and entertaining in their own rights. Just like games should be.

Yeah Bayo 1 felt more grand, and the bosses were harder, and the game was overall harder. And the plot, because it was all over the place, felt better when it felt into place, and the last few chapters were very climatic. But the non traditional parts were annoying. While Bayo 2 while the plot was less over the top, and more direct. it’s more packed with action, and doesn’t have much filler or padding out of levels. But yeah like i said. I don’t think one is “worse” because both games have their strenghts and weaknesses when compared to each other, which is fine.

Because you know you made a great game, if the first game still holds its own against a sequel. so it feels more like giving a separate experienc as opposed to just a continuation. But I do feel that Bayo 2 last boss was pretty weak. Like it wasn’t as epic as the Bayo 1 final boss(es)

I think Bayonetta 1 was harder (to most of us) because it was the first one. With this game you pretty much know all of the rules. I died a lot in Bayonetta and got stones a few times on the first play through. I almost got Gold overall on the first run in Bayonetta 2. Mainly because i already knew how and when to kick much ass effectively. Going back through now with the SFIII add on (Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa) makes me happy. Dodge is awesome, but when you parry on an big hit and go “F YOUR COUCH”, there is so much more depth IMO.

You know what good point. The game may have been toned down still, but because we came in as vets we alredy knew wassup. Because In Bayo was I was getting my ass stomped at first. Because I wasn’t sure how to approach combat. Didn’t know if I should button mash, or try to style like DMC. I don’t remember when, but once I learned that you create a rhythm for each fight through which time it was then that the Umbran powers awoke with me lol, if dudes can be umbrans lmao.

But yeah. I think it’s just easier because we know how to handle. I remember DMC 3 for example being fresh and moderately challenging, but 4 was easy, because I was already in tune with the new crazy combat, as opposed to how DMC1 was. But yeah I will test out 3rd climax. If there’s the infinity climax mode with no witch time i may not do that shit because.

Spoiler

As much as I love Jeanne she’s a bit toughter to use since Witch Time doesn’t activate as you dodge, but you gotta do it as you get hit, as if you are trying to activate the crow form. so just trying to witch time in itself will get you hit more than just regular dodge with no witch time.

Oh yeah. I went in knowing what to do, but it just seems the overall difficulty, at least in 2nd Climax was definitely like “Normal” for the first game. They might’ve done it since it’s on a new system to be more friendly towards new Bayo players, but, I guess that’s what 3rd Climax and Infinite Climax is there for.

And I can legit say, I didn’t like the bow and arrow as much as I thought I would, probably because I prefer to constantly be moving while I’m attacking. It was good for some fights for DOT dmg, but, eh, I killed them faster by just going into Witch Time more often and rektin’ face. I need to go back and get the rest of the LPs, but Alruna/Raksaha/Love Blue were my most used weapons, thus far.

I used the dual swords and the whip alot. Only used the whip for like Non boss fights though. Also @Nessa send me a request yo! NNID is GanonDrell

I’ll send ya one when I get back on.

Saw these playboy photos this morning, amazing to see something like this coming from the Big N

Nothing beats these photos for the first game being used on the Tokyo Subway, tough:

Umm @Neesa so yeah i didn’t know you modeled on the side?

Yeah the outfit they gave her to use for that photoshoot is fucking spot on. Very impressed with the quality.

Though I find it very odd to see a visage of Bayonetta with the legs of a normal human being.

Yeah it is impossible to find a human woman with Bayo’s proportions…

Beat the game.

[details=Spoiler]The final boss was better in Bayonetta 1
So was the ending.[/details]

I think anyone familiar with Bayonetta 1 should just play on 3rd Climax. 2nd just isn’t punishing enough to be a challenge. I’ve died several times on several boss fights (and even non-boss fights) on 3rd. Part of that is rusty-ness but I definitely don’t feel the game is lacking in difficulty at all.

Takemikazuchi is EASILY my favorite weapon so far. Salamandra is hella sick too, and I think everyone already knows Alraune(whips) is amazing. I’m also surprised how much I like Rakshasa, they have a crazy amount of style, moreso than I expected at least

Takemikazuchi has a 3 level charge actually, if you hold X but let go before she fully winds up in her stance she’ll do a quick hilt bash, then lvl 2 and 3 are the actual hammer strikes. Also, man I love how for the delay finishers they were somehow able to make them Bayonetta flavored by making her twirling around the handle before the big strike lol

Spoiler

I think how massive the final boss in Bayo 1 and how much was going on made it hard as fuck to beat on the first time. At least for me on Hard mode. But once I got the mechanics down pack, I was good to go. Beating it was one of the moments I threw my controller down on the couch and screamed, “YES. I FUCKIN’ DID IT.”

. . . . and then you met Father Rodin lol. I only did it the time I beat him, but I parried his orb machine gun attack in full. I shed a tear

So the Link costume has to be my favorite. If you have it, not only is it just the little changes (rupees instead of halos and discovery sound), but you get the parry ability without the accesory slot. To get the Master Sword, you have to equip Sharuba.

My favorite weapon load out right now is A. - Sharuba and Love is Blue and B.- Love is Blue and Rakatan (dual swords). Sai Fong was my favorite weapon in the last game. Is there anything close to it in this game?

I just looked it up and didnt even know Sai Fung was a weapon in the first bayonetta. Now I have something to get done after I get home lol. Is there a stat recorder somewhere to see how many chapters you’ve beaten?I just looked it up and it says I need to beat 100 chapters in total. I’m sure I only need to do like 60 more or something and I could just boost the prologue lol.

That weapon had the greatest wicked weave finishers lol. I love the dual swords in this one, but Said Fung had more style
