Casa De Bayo - Bayonetta 2

Monster Hunter is doing really well on the 3DS. Phoenix Wright has been successful so far with the new game.

Persona 4 Golden is successful compared to other Vita games.

The same Vita that is getting crushed in sells by the 3DS right now? Since when was the 3DS a struggling platform besides the slow launch? I don’t hate the Vita and will grab one eventually, but you can’t confidently recommend it over the 3DS if we’re strictly talking about sells.

SMT4 is also doing well on 3DS, and if I remember correctly outdid P4G (granted, P4G is an upgraded port).

Plus, there isn’t some huge backlog of Platinum games on Nintendo hardware that aren’t on any other system. Isn’t it just Infinite Space, W101, and Bayo 2?

And MadWorld.

“I don’t help people. I kill them.”

Not Vita by itself. I mean like how it was done for Dragon’s Crown, Guacmelee and other cross buy PS4/Vita titles. Sony is pushing that hard and a lot of the indie games are coming out to both.

I didn’t mean the Vita solely.

The commentary from Greg Poops and John “Bender” DiMaggio alone is sooooo worth the game…

As expected…yay!

 is that Rodin? Bad. Ass.

would’ve lost my shit if Blacker was in this too.

this game has a lot going for it but not enough people hyped about it.

It’s on a Nintendo console… I’m more surprised there isn’t an angry internet mob with pitchforks trying to destroy P* and Nintendo at this point.

Sad thing is money really is holding back everything. Bayo 1 didn’t fare well on 360 or PS3 so 2 was to be scrapped so here comes Nintendo to save it. Now no one wants to buy bayo 2 cause it’s on the Wii U…well where the fuck was everyone else at for the first game? Guess no one wants to support the devs at all it seems. I do admit I’m sorry but I rented Bayo 1 not knowing what to expect and loved it but didn’t feel a reason to buy it. a game like that is usually my 1-2 and done. Should I have supported the game more? Well perhaps but again money and value are my factors and well…It wasn’t a game I felt like I needed to replay more and more thus a purchase wasn’t make. If I wasn’t so broke I would have bought it. too little too late now to buy it used for dirt cheap.

Likewise I won’t support every game a dev has just because they need the money. Something has to wow me to make me want it regardless of reviews. Sorry Wonderful 101 but I’m not feeling it but I am going to get Bayo 2…once I get a Wii U…whenever that is. Going back to GCN games, unless it was the usual nintendo offerings it didn’t fare well except for RE4. Now the following were what I bought on GCN because regardless of reviews I had to have it:

REmake
RE Zero
P.N.03
Killer 7
Ikaruga
Custom Robo
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles

and while not GCN on Wii I bought:

No More Heroes 1 and 2
Madworld

I know most of these games are rare now to find since so few people bought them but again each one intrigued me and made me want it.

^Bayonetta 2 is doomed. It needs to be positioned by Nintendo as a MUST-HAVE game. You know why broke niggas keep buying CoD and Madden year after year even though they are broke? Because 1) Everyone else is doing it and 2) The games are marketed like the most important releases that year. Before anyone reviews either of these or mega hits like these the marketing is telling people to pre-order.

“Hey jobless wonder living with someone who is paying the bills, make sure you scrap enough cash together to buy Call of Duty this year!”

“Hey this is Gamestop here telling you that we are giving away bonus trade in credit on your game if it goes toward the pre-order of Madden 26!”

When Bayonetta 2 gets to the demoing phase Nintendo should treat it as if it was one of it’s own personal IPs that have been cultivated over the generations. That’s what you’ve gotta do. You have to make the people want it. I have my doubts on Nintendo being able to pull that off if W101 is any indication.

well CoD and Madden also attack the largest market of casual male gamers, gun/war enthusiast, and sports fans. of course those mofos will gobble up anything year after year. you cannot compare those games to a niche genre like hack n slash.

bayonetta 2 isnt doomed. you know why, because its already fucking coming out. lol. if nintendo doesnt want to spend the time and money to market great games by one of the top directors in the industry, then thats on them to take the loss. platinum games are hired to make games and thats that. if bayonetta 2 flops and wonderful 101, yeah we may not get bayonetta 3 and a sequel to wonderful 101, but those two games will last for years to come like most things that come out of platinum games.

im just happy we at least got bayonetta 2 and wonderful 101, especially bayonetta 2. they are gonna cram so much content into bayonetta 2, and i bet rodin will be playable. the critics can continue to put down games kamiya makes, or games that come from platinum games, but the fans who actually dont just read forums, blogs, etc… and actually try games out and push themselves to learn more about the game know whatsup. i am in no doubt that platinum games is well aware of their hired gun status, and tendency to not sell big numbers, so they try to give you as much as you can in a game to enjoy for years to come.

i mean look at vanquish (i think vanquish was a rushed project too). when it comes to extra content, its just not there, but the replay value of it is so high. i went through mission 4, 2nd to last level last night for an hour straight just trying to kill everything in different ways, and more specifically trying to kill the crystal viper in various ways. that level is about 3-4 minutes long maybe, so if i spent that long just going back over it like that (on hard to, not even on god hard. was taking it easy on my mind last night. lol), that means you made a good game. i guess my point is im just happy to get the games. im not concerned with how nintendo wants to market it, and im confident bayonetta 2 will be over flowing with content that will last me at least a half a decade. enough time for publishers to realize its them not selling the great game, not the great game not selling itself

i expect a nice showing from you at TGS bayonetta  hopefully finally an announcement date for the game to get hype about.

Honestly, once the price drops there should be a spike but basically, Nintendo fucked up in marketing their own hardware expecting software and word of mouth to carry them. It didn’t and now they have publishers/developers calling their system DOA before it turns one. Even now they really aren’t doing a great job in North America on promoting their shit, I don’t know who it was that was promoted or left the company around the 2010-2011 period but the damage of that change is still being felt. Bayonetta 2 will come into a much better environment then Wonderful 101 if not because of its name then because more people would have bought the system by then for Mario Kart 8 or Smash Bros.

Also from the looks of things, Nintendo is slow as fuck with making HD games of certain depth so, they are going to need Bayonetta 2 to look good to help their software calendar.

Like we didn’t think this was going to be the case. Pro-Controller gonna be out of stock post release of this game.

^is that enough to kill this game?

yes and no.

I’m getting a pro controller while I can, mostly for the W101

Doesn’t it have a lot of touch screen specific features in the game though?

Yea you gotta draw all the unite-morphs…

I was told that you could do the unite morphs with the analog sticks, it probably wont’ be as precise but I can deal.

Oh that’s right you can do the unite-morphs with the sticks. I forgot. Hope it works well.

Yes…you can play W101 using the Pro controller and use the second analog stick to draw. Depending upon what it is though will depend upon the speed, efficiency, and accuracy of your input. Hand, Sword, Whip? Probably not much of a problem…but then you probably may start running into issues when you have to draw hammers and bombs.

Edit:

Sessler’s complaints are a bit justified but it’s only going to be for those who aren’t used to playing on the pad or for that matter Nintendo’s Pro controller. I’m letting you guys know that it isn’t the pad…it’s the fact that most people have been used to holding the dualshock and the xbox’s controller’s in there hands for most action titles and Nintendo’s setup is both different and familiar. It’s going to throw you off for the first few moments as you get adjusted because I had to go through the same thing when I was playing Ninja Gaiden. Once you’re used to the setup, it’s smooth sailing.
