…She’s not show any nipples or anything no but is she not naked? Doesn’t Mass Effect 3 have sexual content in it as well?
Actually the reason Super Meat Boy wasn’t released on Wii was because it surpassed the limit on size…Team Meat was actually planning to release it on a disc but then just decided not too.
Edit: Furry Curry beat me to it…I’M TOOO SLOOOOWWWWW!!!
Nintendo still abides to a censorship code that they follow, it still happens, though not as much as what happened with MK2.
Nudity and Religion themes are a No on Nintendo consoles, now, i am not saying that they would do this to Bayo2, specially if the game will retain its M esrb rating; but nintendo, specifically nintendo of america, has censored a considerable number of games when they are localized for the USA market because they had scenes where girls were naked, so they put some convenient censorship here and there.
Hahaha looks like team ninja finally realized that you need gore in a ninja gaiden game. Gameplay is still shit compared to NG2 and NG1 so good luck next time you silly devs.
As for bayo 2 im sure it will be a good game since Platinum has never made a bad game but fuck it if I have to buy nintendo’s crappy console which doesn’t even have next gen hardware compared to the other consoles .Also I know that when I buy it il have to buy at least 3 peripherals to go along with it within 2 years of the console’s life span.
Not to mention the next gen “accidental dying” of hardware the first couple of years until they release the “slim” or “fixed” model. Nintendo managed to dodge the bullet on that one this generation but after going through a faulty gamecube, 2 ps2 consoles and 3 times rrod on 1 xbox until I bought another which rroded 1 year later I suggest people go with the wait and see.
Edit: Platinum needs to kill Capcom staff and steal the rights to God Hand 2. Then the world will explode.
Nintendo doesn’t like to acknowledge the game’s existence
Nintendo wouldn’t publish it in PAL territories
I think they eased up on some nudity (can’t remember where I read this, but it was something to do with plants…)
As for “pretty much naked”, that is basically nothing compared to what you see with real people in PG13 movies. Mass Effect’s sexual content was pretty tame too, but it was dancing around imaginary blue things sexing up bald space marines, so whatever. And if you step out of NoA territory, say into NoJ, it’s a whole different world (target audience: 10-15 years old.) Although they are basically the opposite with violence when compared to our standards.
Like I said: damned if they do, damned if they don’t.
Nintendo constantly gets shit for not having good 3rd party games, and in the same breath, get hate for getting good 3rd party games. Stop me if you’ve seen these comments before:
“Why does <good 3rd party game> have to be only on <any Nintendo product>?”
“Ooh, nice game. Too bad it’s only for <any Nintendo product>”
“If I had <any Nintendo product>, I’d totally get <good 3rd party game>”
You can find any of these statements or a variation of them applied to any good 3rd party game that was released only for a Nintendo system. Just today at GameSpot, I saw statement #1 applied to Lego City Undercover.
But would you agree that this applies more to Nintendo than anyone else? Keep in mind that the general mindset is that Nintendo is more for the casual crowd/young kids. So when they get a really good 3rd party game, or even an M-rated game (like, say, MadWorld), what is the reaction that some people make? The Bayonetta 2 situation isn’t anything new to me; I’ve seen people make similar reactions for other games on older platforms.
It’s just mainly like someone said WII is looked at as a console for casual gamers and god forbid they get a good 3rd party game. There is another console besides ps3/xbox360 but people over look that and I am glad Nintendo is getting a good 3rd party game. Call me a Nintendo fan boy whatever
Whether or not it’s PR speak, I’m wouldn’t be surprised if PG is excited to be making games for the Nintendo. Will have lower costs so they can more easily have a chance of getting new IPs or underperforming games out. Here’s hoping Nintendo has someone from PG advise or partner with for the next Zelda, hopefully Kamiya because, let’s face it, the best 3D Zelda game is Okami.
Not because it’s a Nintendo-specific problem though. Every console maker+publisher had a general mindset during console generations. And guess what? They made that happen. Nintendo marketed to a younger crowd back in the day, and it worked. Sega marketed to the “older” crowd, and it worked. Nintendo started to alter their image later during the N64 and into the Gamecube…and then they decided to tap the casual crowd and said fuck those other guys, which paid off huge.
They’re not successful at all. They always do this every time they launch a new system, try to shed their “kiddie” image by announcing a bunch of violent exclusives at the start of the system’s life… they inevitably fail, give up and go back to making stupid harmless games for babies and grandmas. I guarantee this won’t last, except they’ll be taking down a great franchise in the process because they just don’t understand that games like Bayonetta sell like shit on their systems.
