I know Madworld isn’t the best plantium game, but I feel like the game needs another chance. Especially considering that Nintendo’s WIIU has wants to appeal to the hardcore, and Madworld’s had a idea ahead of it’s time. Madworld wouldn’t be as hard as to port with WiiU’s controls over Madworld which from the beginning had good Wii Controls.
Making Bayonetta 2 will just piss people off, I’m not sure it’s worth the hate at all to be honest.
For all what we know, they probably didn’t cancel it, but sold the rights to another company, a reason why they were so secretive of what happened to the game when the rumors started.
Like others pointed, Bayo2 being an exclusive, doesn’t mean necessarily that other companies didn’t show interest on getting the franchise, but that Nintendo put more money.
On a side note, maybe we should be thankful of the sega problems, because of this Dimps got TRF back, and the legal issues with GG no longer exists.
The bad part is that other sega games are held on the limbo like Shenmu HD and Bayo2 went to a nintendo exclusive
Because the costs of putting out a quality product such as this have to be factored in. Selling to the casual gamer means that you can skimp on things like console processing power, have less artists and programmers to pay per game, etc. The game doesn’t have to be any good, it just requires a marketable gimmick. This is FAR less expensive of a creative process compared to big name titles on other consoles.
Nintendo sold more by doing less, simply because they had the brilliant idea to abandon us. I’d be salty about it if I didn’t have other options, but we do have other options, so it’s whatever to me. But this move makes no sense financially since they’re incurring steeper development costs for what is essentially a niche title, and making it exclusive to a console that most of that core audience has no real interest in.
At the end of the day though, I guess they make so much goddamned money off Pogeymans that they can afford to do whatever they want. That’s the only logic I can see behind this, someone wanted it and didn’t care if it flopped, because Pogeymans will back up their bottom line regardless.
Fuck all this “just be happy the series was revived” shit. There was never any concrete evidence that it was cancelled in the FIRST place, just a “source” and nothing went further than that like it usually does with these situations. It makes no sense that the game would have been just cancelled outright. They cancel a sequel to Platinum’s best selling game but go on to fund a new unproven IP in Anarchy Reigns??? Nah, that makes no sense. Cancelled could mean “PS360 versions cancelled” after Nintendo decided to snatch it up. I doubt this deal was just thought up and done yesterday.
If the Celtics, for WHATEVER crazy reason went under…but was revived in San Diego, you wouldn’t tell the ppl in Boston to just be happy its still alive. I hate fragmentation in series; its the reason I haven’t touched the Kingdom Hearts series since KH2. When it concerns sequels I hate it more. With Nintendo publishing this means the game with NEVER see another system unless it’s Nintendo’s. If Bayo 3 comes out and is multiplat, there will now be a big ass important hole in the middle of Bayo 1 & 3 for PS360 owners who don’t wanna shell out 300 just to play Bayo 2 on a system they have no interest in.
You do not do this kind of shit with sequels man; Its always gonna be a problem
The funny thing about all this is that the PS3 version of the first game was an abomination to me and I would’ve rebought a 360 just for a non-shitty version of the game.
(I was getting ready to get another 360 (lol), but I got lucky since I came across a relative who wasn’t using his)
Fucking find someone that has a WiiU later on, it’s not rocket science.
(or just wait a few years for them shits to get cheap or used)
Or, who knows? Maybe there will be a port somewhere down the line for whatever reason; we can’t say for sure, even if Nintendo will probably hold this thing close to their chest.
Honestly, I’m expecting Wii U to have more developer support than PS4 and XB420. It’s going to cost more than now to develop on those other 2 and honestly, my favorite games this gen have all been the critically acclaim, yet undersold titles and I don’t think developers/publishers will be willing to keep gambling on such titles next gen.
I’m surprised the ENTIRE internet bought the whole Bayo 2 being WiiU exclusive forever. Both Micro$oft and -$ony SWORE that most of their games were hands down exclusive and 2 years later 99% of those titles went multiplatform. This is a smart move by Nintendo to try to weasel the so called “harcore” to buy their console. From what I’ve read, Nintendo’s hardcore titles on the Wii sold terribly and it was shovelware that sold boat loads but their console will prematurely age when PS4 and the next xbox comes out.
TL DR: Bayonetta 2 will hit other consoles in some shape or form regardless of what Nintendogs says.
Wii U is going to cost less than a GTX 660 and will last at least 5 years. Can’t really say the same for any desktop video cards, when there are upgrades releasing every 6 months.
Nintendo published the best JRPG this generation and are publishing a sequel to the best action beat em up game. If Nintendo and Sega are working together and it leads to Valkyria Chronicles making a return to consoles, I’m all in for a Wii-U.
but looking back, there’s what…a couple of Rare’s titles? Can’t find many instances of a game published by Nintendo that ends up multiplat down the road.
The Wii U also doesn’t come close to the power of a GTX 660, doesn’t perform nearly as many tasks as a GTX 660 could, and if NVIDIA wasn’t so fucking questionable, would probably last longer than five years in today’s market (but everything after the 8000 cards just tend to die or fry before people upgrade them.) Sega dumped Valkyria in the US market by the way (you can import VC3 for the PSP, I guess.) You also can get by with a much cheaper alternative by waiting 3 months or so and that card can last you four years before you actually “need” to upgrade (hell to be honest, if I had to shove my 7900 back in from my current GTX 460, I probably wouldn’t care since the only thing I’d lose is high resolutions in higher end games…since my 8800GTX and GTX 260 are dead.)
its over reacting, sad to say. maybe i had a good copy or something but some of what i hear has never happened. the worst time i had is with an item taking 12 seconds (that one was like unusually long) before an update to 1 second.
except compared to other companies, nintendo is pretty iron clad
microsoft often buys timed exclusives
while the ps3 exclusives are usually first party.
Publishing doesn’t make it 100% just look at what happened to Sega with Bayo 1.
Good point but TBH in this industry things change fast, especially when they find out how little Bayo 2 will sell on their console. Look at other hardcore titles on the Wii and see their pathetic sales. Madworld flopped hard and even gems from Capcom like Zack and Wiki sold peanuts even though it was family friendly. The only thing that will 100% cement it in my eyes is Nintendo outright buying Platinum. If they do, this still wouldn’t get me to buy a WiiU and trust me this is coming from someone who got all Platinums on every stage and the platinum trophy before it hit NA shores. Shenmue is the only game I will buy a console for!
