Even though I only watch 2d blue, I can sympathize with unrealistic post.
Its nice to have a DVD for travel purposes or if my parents want to watch on their TV.
Or even if I move abroad somewhere and I only have access to DVD player in my laptop.
Another thing about Disney taking over marvel distribution seems to be that the special features on movies are going down slowly. Compare I’m 1 to winter soldier.
I suppose they could be saving them for a phase 2 box set but regardless its lame.
I don’t have a Blu Ray player. Even if I did buy one, my TV isn’t a high enough quality to really appreciate it. So screw you guys for making me feel even more broke than I already am.
No, I I don’t have blu-ray players scattered throughout the house, nor do I plan on spending money on blu-ray players. When something is watched in the family room, its either from the roku or the 360, nothign else can go up there without a significant investment. I’m not moving the PS3 (the only 3D player I have) to a non-3D TV, and I want the XBOne on the better TV. When I finally get a PS4, its going with the high end set as well.
I’m sorry, HD is hella overrated 90% of the time, and the family room isn’t the ‘movie experience’ either. The DVDs were PERFECT for my setup, plain and simple.
:bluu:
No, I’m not going drop another $14 to buy the samething again - taking the value of everything on sale to $40.
Lol @ HD being overrated. Its the STANDARD now. Not even going to get into movies but plz watch any sporting event on ESPN on a tube TV and watch that same event on 1080p display…then get back to me.
Watching something on SD is like eye cancer to me. Picture isn’t as clear, I can see the pixels if I’m watching on a HD display and the screen size is a pain.
I can still watch SD even after tasting HD television.
But then again I’ve needed glasses since I was six and only got them at about 14, also the main tv in the house living room was 40+ color and the one in my bed room growing up was a 15" black and white set until I hit college back in 2002, so I am probably better used to switching from one end of visual extreme to another.
I rented Thor Dark World on DVD months back, as the BD wasn’t available. I really enjoyed it, but the upscaled DVD made me wish I was seeing it in real HD the entire time.
Seriously though at most you could make your own DVD with a blank disc and burner? I know it’s not the same but that’s an option. We as gamers should know best about how fast formats come and go and shouldn’t expect to get everything back and in all ver.
You know how much I would love to play my old ass Super Mario Kart on my Wii U without having to buy a new digital copy? Well point is we want the most out of our money but could be worse. They could not sell any kind of bundles…
shrug everyone has certain things they care about, I see the difference between SD and HD, I’m just not ‘z0mg’ about it. I prefer HD but if SD is easier, I’m not going to ‘not watch’ because its on a DVD.
It doesn’t matter though. Yesterday my son started spinning my 360 Kinect around his head (I assume) and it smashed into the 60" upstairs…so the TV don’t work anymore (big ass crack).
You have NO IDEA how close it came to that. I was so upset I was SCARED. I essentially did a bunch of calf lifts, jumped up while breathing heavily, flexed my fingers out to not make a fist, hit my head on the door, then went outside and put a new tire on my wife’s car.
He’s only 3, but I’ve got on him so many times about touching the Kinect, and touching the TV. TV was bought in like February too. :bluu: (wait wtf are these emoji ass smileys).
I’m about to put a security system on my shit in the basement. LEt that nigglet touch my XBOne or the 3D TV…oooooooooooooooo
Well we got another kid on the way, so we aren’t buying another TV, that TV was a stretch purchase as it is - we are still ‘somewhat’ paying it off. I still got my old SF4 set - I think tht was like 37" or 42" something like that, but I’m going to let him sweat this one out for a long while.
But yeah, he has no real understanding of what he did which is why my yelling at him was minimal - I knew deep down it was a losing effort.
