The only one who doesn’t know shit is you. We’ve been trying to tell you for months but all the shit coming out of your mouth has filled up your own damn ears.
Spidey wasn’t really a fixture of Avengers until after Avengers Disassembled when the New Avengers was formed. I actually liked that team. Him being in an Avengers would be nice. And again, that movie would be HUGE.
i love how in one page, niggas went from just discussing marvel shit, even discussing spidermans involvement, to hating @SenninSRK in no time becuase he said an avengers movie aint shit without spiderman.
yeah “avengers” is fine without spiderman, but i mean a lot of focus has been on comic book movies the past decade, that hasnt been before, and a lot of people arent going to go through books from the 90s, 80s, 70s, etc, to see where spiderman stood as an avenger, or as someone who could have been an avenger. they are just like oh, last i checked, spidey was an avenger, and that would be awesome to see him as one, because hes a pretty awesome character, and fairly relevant when it comes to “marvel” movies.
yeah spidey doesnt HAVE to be an avenger, as implied by sennin (in a fun fan way as i read it. not as a guantlet thrown down to test nerds), but cmon, that wasnt to be taken as an act of war, because an avengers movie with a proper spiderman would be dope as fuuuuck.
as we all should know, arguing semantics over comic book moves is pretty ridiculous. spidey doesnt have to be in an avengers movie, but it would be more complete for me personally to see spiderman and wolverine in the avengers 2 then shitty black widow and a “crack head daniel craig” as hawkeye.
niggas be on srk frontin like they 40+ and own a comic book store, when they know they learned a lot of shit from google the past 10 years like everyone else. not saying all of you, but srk is pretty young, and i know a lot of you nigs aint clinging to at the very least, 70s, 80s, and 90s comics like yall be frontin to be. one thing i learned from srk and irc, is dudes who i think are “old school”, just turned like 25 last year, and graduated fucking high school in like 2007. not all of you,but there are a generation of people that think “wanted” was a movie first, then a comic book, and may even think the comic sucked compared to the movie.
unless you are 40 plus, stop it with the spidey not being an avenger thing. for most teens, early 20 somethings, and upcoming teens, spiderman is an avenger. the comic book stores that were plentiful when i grew up are long gone, they could care less about reading some comics from the 80s (arbitrary number), and to them, spiderman is an avenger. i say that respectfully, and it doesnt have to apply to young heads, but its not like spiderman became a freaking avenger 3 years ago. its been almost a fucking decade, and he has been interactive with the avengers for longer then that. not to mention spiderman aside from x-men has been one of the most culturally relevant comic book heroes this past decade, even as far as memes of james franco with his “so good” shit. we just gonna downgrade spideys relevance the past decade with the avengers because he wasnt an official avenger before what 2005. lol
spidey in an avenger movie is something they should seek, not shun, and something we should embrace as a community, not argue over.
We ain’t shunning Spidey in an Avengers movie (well, Rock is but he hates Spidey in general), but fucking ST coming in here like “Avengers ain’t shit without Spidey”.
Spidey being in Avengers is simply a nice and neat bonus, that’s all. It’s not necessary, it’s not needed and in the end I will not give a single fuck if it doesn’t happen and no one should because he sure as hell isn’t a lynchpin for them and necessary to their history.
No. DEMANDING for blood and profanity in a comic book series that has never been essentially about that is dumb.
Caps’s awesomess has never had nothing to do with how much blood or profanity there are on his stories. Go read All Star Batman & Robin The Boy Wonder, LOL.
Mmh? They’re doing fine without him, so far.
Spider-Man became an Avenger in New Avengers Vol 1 #3, 2005.
The Avengers team was formed in created in 1963.
That would mean, in your opinion, what? That the Avengers were NOT the Avengers for about 40 years, until Spider-Man arrived and then -POP!- They suddenly became The Avengers??!
I recommend you to read some Avengers volumes that are not Brian Michael Bendis.
Seriously, this guy put Spider-Man on The Avengers just because. Same case with Spider-Woman. Spider-Woman sucks total ass, she’s a terrible, TERRIBLE character and shouldn’t even be allowed to be a superheroine. Everyone knows the only reason why Bendis put her in the team was just because of this:
and Spider-Man has not done a single thing for the team, he’s only there to (supposedly) raise the sales.
And finally:
When the hell are you going to understand THEY’RE NOT TRYING TO DO THE COMIC BOOK IN THE BIG SCREEN?!
They’re building a different universe, it’s a different story, a different continuity, the characters are not even the same, they have differences with the ones of the comics.
I don’t know what the hell do you have in your head that they’re going for adaptations of the comic books arcs and continuity. The most you’re going to get is movies inspired in the comics.
And if you think the movies SUCK simply because of that is because you’re some kind of idiot that wants the movies to be the comic books on screen but with more gore only to say “ha ha, you see? I knew about the story before watching the movie”.
The movies are their thing apart and it’s not bad if they don’t follow the comics but provide their own twists. Just like they did with the Ultimate Marvel comic books line.
They went to do something different by re-interpretating some things about the comics, but telling a different story and a different vision at the same time.
So, I’d basically say: Even if “the Avengers is not The Avengers without Spider-Man”, it doesn’t matter, as THEY’RE NOT TRYING TO BE THE COMIC BOOK AVENGERS. They’re trying to be their own thing, and so far, they’re doing very good without Spidey.
Same with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. The fact that Magneto is not their father doesn’t matter as they’re not the trying to be the comic book SW and QS, they’re trying to be a different version of SW and QS.
By the way, Civil War worked good in big part because it was a multi-parter story with changes of bands and all that, and the fact that there’s like 500 superheroes in the Marvel Universe of the comic books? Which, by the way, will never happen in the MCU.
So, while a movie inspired on the Civil War premise could happen, it would just not be the same. It would be something entirely different.
At last saw it and WOW so much went on! Granted even though I did have to explain some things to my GF (as well as look up a few things myself) for what It was, I was entertained and exciting from start to end! Bucky was solid Cap really has developed into so much more and shows why he’s not just a symbol of a 'murrica. Fights were great!
In a random note from work, the meet and greet at Disneyland for Cap since the movie dropped pulls in now a 90min wait.
I took a friend of mine to watch Captain America 2 today and he knows shit all about comics. He thought it was a really good movie and was kind of bummed he didn’t know the little shit about how they mention Steven Strange and who he was.
As far as people needed to be in the Avengers movie because they were an Avenger, as the resident old dude (34) Avengers have had like 50 different people in it and that might be a conservative estimate. It would be ridiculous to try to include everyone that has has a cup of coffee as an Avenger. Cap, IM, Black Widow, Thor, Hulk and Hawkeye were really the necessary ones, which is why they were included. I can see someone arguing with Hank Pym and Wasp since they were original members if someone choose to.
Alright fuck it I didn’t want to do this but I have no choice.
I’m not saying spiderman is a essential component to the avengers and perhaps my tone might have wrongly conveyed that. My simple point is that spiderman is a very relevent aspect to the avengers team in the modern context. Shit on bendis all you want but spiderman did help boast the sales and intrigue to a series that wasn’t doing a good job grabbing attention. He might not have been there since the teams inception but he’s a big name and he’s been a member for almost a decade now. Considering all the omissions marvel is making with the CMU I don’t think its a stretch to want a very current and popular character to be included. For all intents and purposes he is basically like batman to the justice leauge because in most people’s eyes spiderman is marvel.
Edit: wtf is with the Peter hate…did someone honestly suggest Ben is a better spiderman lmao. Peter is to spiderman what Barry is to flash…the original which everyone knows and loves so deal with it.
