Cap is bulldozer. Loved the bit at the last corridor instead of doing a sharp turn he just goes against the wall to rebound and keep running with any slowdown. I was all FUCK YEAH!!
It still heartwrenching that scene with old Peggy. Dem feels man.
Great movie, easily the best Marvel movie sequel yet and unlike a lot of folk I quite enjoyed both IM sequels. The fight and action scenes were great and dear HEAVEN Cap’s Shield is OP as fuck and I love it.
Hell, props for making Batroc the Leaper not look like a bitch.
Also once Scarlet Jo has her kid, they REALLY need to go ahead and give that girl a solo movie and one her name is on the title of, she deserves it IMO.
Then you have no complaints most reports are saying Captain America 3 is targeted for 2016 possibly to go head to head with Batman vs Superman, with the same directors as this one locked for that one as well.
And don’t worry. Almost 1 month before release MAHVEL/Disney hired the directors for the next sequel. They were that confident of the success of this movie.
I agree, I kind of wanted Steve to flip the fuck out during the Bucky reveal to demonstrate how important he is to him. I guess I was spoiled by dat raw emotion when Zod’s neck gets broken in Man of Steel. But yeah, I would pin it on Steve being a more stoic, soldier-mentality type of cat who isn’t going to give you much emotion.
The movie was hype. I was laughing my ass off when “Da Po-Po” eyeballed Sam Fury. As soon as they began their assault I was thought, “Just another day for a black man in America.” NickFury was a grade A badass though.
The buildup for the camaraderie between Cap, Falcon and Widow was paced very well and felt believable. I hate when in movies characters just hop along for the ride with no logical progression to justify it. Nothing in this movie felt forced.
I really hope Falcon is in the Avengers, his aerial acrobatics really made for entertaining moments. If The Vulture every makes it into The Amazing Spider-Man, they have their work cut out for them.
As for the Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. tie-in:
Spoiler
I knew the short agent dude in glasses was a baddie on the show, but I thought he was going to be The Clairvoyant and not a Hydra double agent."The Clairvoyant is essentially the algorithm Arnim Zola developed being used by Hydra. So I wonder how that will be resolved in the show with the timing of the current ep + movie?
That’s exactly what I was thinking! With the exception of Blade, this film had the best fight choreography of any Marvel-based movie. They balanced Cap’s agility and strength perfectly. His fight scene with Bucky was too good, and I loved how Cap took care of randoms with both skill and power, not just brute force like the first movie. The utilization of his shield was very nice.
Finally, the use of the old trope- “No matter who the apparent bad guy is, there’s always a rich white guy villain really running things in the end.” never gets old.
Every '80s/'90s action flick, and 24-like drama proves this.
I agree with the sentiment that it’s time for a Black Widow solo. ScarJo has stepped it up TREMENDOUSLY since IM2 and has definitely come into her own as BW. After this movie especially it’s time she got the chance to really develop it completely.
I didn’t think she could pull it off as well as she did, but she’s done well. Much respect to her.
No questioning how adding blood and cursing will cost them more money is dumb. It’s added effects like Blood squicks and exploding heads that will cost them more money then the really large amount they already spend, on top of upping the rating for the content which will narrow the breadth of the audience that can attend the film thus also costing them a lot of money. If you just think about it for even a minute it’s not hard to figure out how cussing and un-needed blood guts and gore would cost them more money.
A big chunk of money for these films comes from the under 18 crowed, you make the movie R rated with un-needed content like exploding heads and someone calling Widow a cunt for no other reason then shock factor and you lock out a large portion of your audience. Money not earned is pretty much money spent.
Yeah, because, you know…everyday life-and-death situations usually do include guys roided up with super soldier serum, professional assassins with bionic arms, a nigga flying with metal wings, and huge helicarriers flying around.
