I agree Matt, I’m suprised we don’t see more players complaining. I got the game today and as much as it hurts me to say I’m pretty disappointed with the netcode. After playing over 30 matches, I don’t think a single one was actually playable. The input lag really affects a game with such restrict combo timing. I just hope they will release some sort of patch that will improve things.

If anyone wants to test the XBL netcode I’m in the UK and I’ll be looking for player matches for most of today. It’s out on XBL as of about half an hour ago incase nobody realised.

i have to add that the people i played we fairly close to me (200km), and i usually have a very good ping. i haven’t played people in other countries yet, it’s probably gonna be bad.

edit: by the way, we had a replay desynch already. should keep an eye on that, i hope it was an isolated incident.

So far so good…not really a lot of american players… mostly Japanese but good connections…it my fav game so im happy…the borders are kinda corny tho…lol

Same here with me. I wasn’t really struggling to get my inputs out like I did with UMVC3. I’ve noticed the game plays a bit slower online but, it could be that my eyes are playing tricks on me & I haven’t played in a long time.

Not everyone has the game yet, but Dyne has been saying the netcode is horrible.

:frowning:

Really want to grab this for the Xbox (if only to support the dream of Rival Schools HD) but if the netcode is garbage I might have to wait for a sale.

Bought the game, first time playing, a lot more difficult than i imagined (still loving it though).

Yeah, he mentioned that it is pretty laggy. I was talking with Kujo-san and he also had the same experiences we did. I haven’t asked Rotanibor yet but I know he already has the game for xbox. I played a guy from my city yesterday (Los Angeles), and the game was just as laggy as the other matches.

I guess I will stick with the game for training mode and offline gatherings. I’m wondering what do the Japanese players think of the netcode. It seems than in a lot of replays they are constantly dropping simple BnBs as well.

AtTheGates: I believe you man, especially since you have more experience with the game than a lot of the people here, but so far here in the US the game has been an unpleasant experience for a lot of players from GGPO.

yeah, as i said, i was testing under very good circumstances, with subarashii, and we both have extremely good pings, usually. against other people, it wasn’t as good, and against some guy from italy, the slowdown was too much and i couldn’t combo at all. i guess it’s only playable if you play somebody really close to you.

I see replay uploads, are they just for the upload server or can you upload matches to Youtube using the Xbox (ala third strike online)?

this is more of pad player thing can you map macro in it?

Yes you can.

Well, already 100% both PS3/360 versions, lol, I’m done, and oh yeah, for that user asking why her name is still Mahraiah, its because they still kept the altered names for certain characters. And for the online though, I felt no lag, for me at least. And the replays are to server only, no Youtube function.

Not sure if you talked to Rotan yet, but “Unplayable”.

Yeah. I couldn’t even combo a couple A attacks in most of the matches. I still need to play someone locally, but it seems for anything not local it is unplayable. (playing on 360 version)

Still, training mode seems very good and local play seems completely satisfactory. Even with bad netcode I’m very happy this was released.

Just DL’d and played the demo. Got my ass kicked as Jotaro, got my revenge as Hol Horse. As soon as I found out I could control my bullets trajectory I was off to the races. HELLA shenanigans.

brb committing suicide over terrible netcode
