Well that sucks. Did you get a chance to try a few more games? Were they all the same?
after some more matches online, i can say that the netcode isn’t bad at all. it’s unusual, and it will take some time to get used to it, but i can already pull off tandems and such, so that’s a good sign.
this just in: you can toggle hitbox display on in replay mode! unfortunately, this is not available in practice mode.

I’m getting an arcade stick that will actually work with my CPU so I’ll definitely start playing on GGPO. I’ve got Dios basic stuff down (2A, 2A, 6S+A, s.5B…etc, 2A, 2A, 214A, d.2A…etc) for the most part. It’s definitely a very fun game from what I’ve played with my friend. Dios s.5A>d.s.2A link is hard for me, but getting better.
I like the filter in the game for some reason, the shading not the out lines. Not buying it but it’s still nice. Maybe someone can take screen shots of all the hitboxes and put them on standcrash.
How is the Training mode so far? Any other online stories from folks. So far peoples comments have me excited again. I wish it was tomorrow for us Xbox users already!
Also important, does the game only come with the 16 characters at first? Do you have to unlock the 6 secret characters? That was honestly a pain on the Dreamcast version where you have to beat 20 guys in Challenge (survival) mode or something like that.

I dunno about the advantage, but the active and start up frames are taken directly from the hit editor.

Well, the netcode from my experience is extremely bad. I have yet to do one full bnb online. I can jump into training mode and do Dio’s bnb 5 times in a row, but when I get online, I have trouble getting the 2A to combo after [2A]>14A>dash, let alone getting the s.5A>d.s.2A to combo. I was able to do Dio’s d.5C>214C>dash>1A>d.5A>muda bnb once (out of 30 matches). Even worse, the slowdown makes pushblocking way harder than it needs to be, let alone doing things like pushblock>punish.
I like the ability to look at hitboxes.
That sounds unfortunate…any chance this game will get a patch at some point?

I played online with a friend earlier. I’ll say this:
It was playable, but not the playable you generally want. It’s like marvel netcode where you can sense input lag (like putting something in and it not coming out for a few frames). Now due to how Marvel works, it can be playable. But this game has tighter execution, so it may be bad for it. Really bad. But I’m an inexperienced newb who only played one person so…
So who are some good beginner characters? I wanna try Jotaro but people say he’s one of the most technical (that won’t stop me though so some tips would be appreciated). Mariah seems fun but seems to be lacking in combos and such. Shadow Dio looks badass but he lacks a stand mode so, kinda weird.

You should use who you like though, Mariah is lacking but really fun, she’ll be my main. Generally the active stand characters are more technical then the passive stand characters, but are stronger in the long run since their damage potential is a lot higher.
So how good is this game? I am not sure about it still…
