Current MLP was enjoyed mostly by males 18-35. From my very limited experience with little girls playing SF5, my two nieces, Laura is pretty and male characters dont really exist.

No, they SHOULDN’T create another disc, or at least one that you’re required to own. That will fuck up everything they done good until now.
They should rather do what NRS did with MKXL - new game comes as a free patch for all previous owners (minus the characters and some new DLC stuff) while new owners can buy directly SSFV which contains SFV + DLC + new content. Basically everyone will have SSFV at the end, but someone will just skip the SFV stage.
Like said above It’s most likely going to be both if they do release a Super SFV. If they release a super it’ll most likely go along with a free to play version of the game and the general free update.
That way they can cover all bases. More disc sales for casuals who are still attached to disc gaming, free to play to get those who want to try without the investment an option and a general free update for those that are already purchased and signed on.
Some will probably give Capcom back for releasing a Super when they said they wouldn’t, but if they explain that its just an outside purchase into the service model it should be fine. Mandatory purchase for updates when you’ve already bought in is what people don’t like
They should never called it ‘Super SFV’. Too many negative associations with that naming scheme at this point.
Not sure what you’re on about. That is exactly what I just said. Create a brand new disc and sell it to the people who don’t own SFV. The people who have the original game will just download the content. It doesn’t have to be named Super SFV, name it whatever you want.

Whether they call it Super SFV, SFV GOTY Edition or SFV: 2nd Impact it’s irrelevant. Casuals just need to know it’s a significant revamp since the first iteration with a lot of new content and they might consider buying it.
We have to really understand what was meant when Capcom promised that there will be no SSFV and that this will be the only disc we’ll ever have to own:
- multiple discs means having to spend more money to access the latest iteration of the game engine
- multiple discs mean not everyone has the same version of the game and the community becomes split between those who purchased the latest version and those who stuck with the previous ones
Whatever they do to repackage the game for late customers doesn’t matter as long as in the end everyone has the same game and is able to play against everyone who owns SFV without spending more money.
Never said I wanted an all male cast. Never noticed anything obnoxiously sexualized about Makoto or Ibuki in SFIV, not that it mattered with 44 characters to choose from the odds of redundant repeated ass-in-face was slim.
