Kind of a weird reason to bump the topic, man… ^^;
But any way…to answer your question, I think it’s safe to say: “Only in the Doujin material that the fangirls dream up”.

Now do you think you can hook me up with something with Nobunaga in it?
everytime a new sbx video comes out, I get more and more hyped for this game
Thank you so much, I appreciate it.
It looks very promising so far. Looks to run very smooth too.
Nope! Those Japanese players risked their cell phones being taken to captured these videos! There are agents watching! (Ask Pharaon and Fethennour if you don’t believe me) It’s a miracle to see any new vids:looney:
Okay, special report coming soon.
What’s the deal with the latest videos? Did the game just become the “do combos” game now? Maybe interesting if you’re a MB player, but looked pretty boring to me.
I think the problem is that it’s still just a loke test so the game hasn’t become too competitave yet, so maybe people went in there wiht the intention to test out their combo theories. Either that or there is still some things that need Ironing out, but knowing ArcSys they’ll keep the game fairly combo friendly (which may or may not be a good thing depending on who you are).
I don’t have a problem with there being big combos or whatever, but the fighting in between the combos seemed mostly limited to a little jumping around. There wasn’t much spacing, zoning or anything… just mixup into combo. It’d be stupid to judge at this stage, but I’m kind of wary about how the game is going to turn out now.
Well I like mixups and combos. I think zoning, and spacing are necessary as well but I don’t want this game to be a “camping” fest. I don’t find not doing anything all very fun.
I don’t see how zoning, footsies etc have ever been conducive to “camping”…
Yeah, with how some of the character’s move lists look I think that as the play develops for this game we’ll be seeing alot more spacing and zoning games developing in the future. I mean look at charaters like kenshin and their floating ice balls, and how that dude in green’s (at a loss for the name atm) move list revolves around tossing soldiers around, I see alot of zoning potential in these two characters, If only for the fact that they remind me ever so little of guilty gear’s own screen control machine, Venom.
I’m not saying footsies equals “camping”. I just don’t want the game to be so turtle-friendly that there isn’t any offense or characters that can get in with mixups. I don’t want the game to be over-saturated with rushdown but I don’t want the game to be people just sitting either.
Footsies,spacing and zoning are all vital components to fighting games and with high level play mixups can be incorporated into them and often complement each other. I just don’t want the game to be so slow paced that nothing ever happens.
You probally shouldn’t get too worried about the lack of deep spacing at the moment. It takes time to learn the hitboxes for all your characters moves, let alone how they match up against the rest of the cast. I doubt this can happen in the relative short amount of time these loke tests have given people to learn.
:looney::looney::looney::looney::looney::looney:
I don’t see any combo longer than 8 hits in the vids. I must be blind already!
Well this game has something for everyone. Masamune (a bit defensive) and Yukimura (a bit aggressive) being standard characters, Keiji is about spacing or zoning, Kenshin is about rushdown, Nobunaga is about projectiles, Hideyoshi is about throw, Mouri is about traps + setups, Aniki is about mobility + long range pokes+ his AT-AT, Oichi is an obscure character, and Hondam is HONDAM!
It’s interesting to see how they balance everyone. Just don’t pick Kenshin for spacing, or Keiji for combo, or Nobunaga for rush down though, it’s like asking Zangief to do fireball, Terry to do SPD, or Konoha to do footsie
I saw a super in the game that did 10 hits on its own!
This game is c-c-c-combo crazy!!!
:rolleyes: :lol:
Seriously… its beta…
