Capcom Responds To BBB Complaints: No Distinction Between DLC And Disc-Locked Content

Fans = Dollar?

You’ll wanna listen to who supports you. It’s sort of like choosing between your friends or your parents. One seems cool to listen to, and seems to have immediate joy-joy feelings when you indulge, but the other has deeper meaningful long term effects.

There’s a lot of times when companies do things that seem like a giant Xmas gift to their fans, and they’re rewarded with nice PR and nothing else. Great PR doesn’t make for a nice fiscal outlook. Sometimes you gotta adhere to the fads of today to make money, and hope you can please fans along the way. Metallica had an issue with this during their St. Anger days.

It’s a tricky line.

So basically, Capcom make a profit off of Sony by simply/effortlessly witholding characters that are part of the finished game; and then make even more profit by selling us (re-selling if you’re also buying the Vita version) the ability to play with part of what we already paid for.

This whole selling games to consumers in bit and pieces is simply an ‘official’ con, or that’s what business is these days (doesn’t make it right though):

Female customer: “Hello, I ordered a table from you but I didn’t recieve the whole thing like I was supposed to”

Seller: “What is missing, madame?”

Lady: “The legs…”

Seller: “Ah yes. Well, due to an exclusive deal with Ikea that benefits us greatly but doesn’t benefit you in any way whatsoever; we had to withold sending out the legs of this table.”

Lady: “…so…when can I recieve them?”

Seller: “You must purchase them seperately even though you already paid for them along with the whole table originally”

Lady: “Seriously!? Why? I already paid for the whole thing!”

Seller: “You would be supporting us; and this would mean we could bring you more quality products in the future! But really we would just run this scam all over again. But don’t worry! Your table is still functional as a surface on which you can place objects on, you don’t need the legs to use it!”

Lady: “So you send me an item I fully paid for with major parts missing, and instead of you owing me, I owe you for your incompetence and bad dealings?”

Seller: "Precisely. And we only get away with it because the majority of people are retarded and let their desires and impatience rob them of their rights.

“Also you may buy the legs 6 months from now.”

I hate to be this guy but:

Shoutouts to capcom for missing the entire point to why people are pissed off about their dlc shenanigans. I haven’t bought this game nor do I intend to but I think capcom deserved the gank they’ve gotten from the people who unlocked the DLC.

Good shit FGC, good shit.

Very good summation.

People come up with the worst analogies. Just because you think two things are the same, it doesn’t mean that they are the same.

I dont know what side to take. I dont really care about the shit being on the disc. Im upset I have to wait a long time for the rest of the characters. I dont want to train with a team and latter on they release more characters who might actually be better than most of the other characters. If Im using ryu/kazuya, whats to say sakura/lars wont be better? They did say the characters were coming out AFTER the vita release, but that doesnt mean the next day-next week-or even the next month. They can come out and say, " Fuck you whiny bitches. DLC comes out after EVO 2013. Pool’s Closed."

No lie, these comparisons are fucking horrible.

You can’t even begin to compare software to actual appliances. You guys are retarded for that, and i don’t even like SFxT.

It’s hard to tell which is more dumb, people going out of their way to write a dissertation on how Capcom scammed them or the fact that they knew what they were paying for and still bought the game.

I am going to go out on a limb here, and say “still bought the game” is the dumber part.

The other part is buyer’s remorse of one of Black Jesus’s hookups magnitude.

The next person that complains about unlockable characters…
You know, maybe game companies should just go back to secret character unlocking methods of the past with the option to download them for a price. This would lead to some characters being incredibly difficult to unlock but maybe that’ll stop people from complaining about an extra $20 for a game that used to be a lot more expensive to make. Welcome to trade kiddies. Shit’s never free.
I’d love to see unlockable characters come back.

What a stooge.

Yeah poor Capcom/SNK/etc
Without DLC chars they’d go under

Without high value DLC with a decent conversion rate… yeah, they probably would go under.

Not to needlessly further the necro, but you might be looking at a screw up on Amazon’s part, not Atlus / SNKPs. You should maybe try using customer support before you fly off the handle to the BBB over nothing.

I (and many others) bought that very same package months ago and it came with the game and the full four disc soundtrack.

That and even at release (a year ago) KoFXIII came with more content out of the box for 10 bucks less than SFxT has even now.

I was respectful ask to pull my post down so I have thank for read.
