a question and a comment, does everyon play with there specific meter because there are 2 person teams,is it 2 people with there game specific meter or is it it 2 people with the same meter.also to the people complaining about the rehashed sprites and how we flamed snk fanboys about svc,the snes graphics of svc was only a very small part of why svc and various snk games were bad, examples would be a waste of time.also dudley is the coolest capcom character ever i hope he is in it.
From what’s been said, it would be implied that you would be using each individual’s meter when using a particular character. It would be nice to share meters and see a bit of diversity witin the game but I doubt that will happen. The only thing that really sucks is that since they have individual bars, meter management will be a bit different in this game than CVS2. I kinda liked meter management in that game.
warzard looks tight as hell though…it’d be tight if a lot of the characters from that game made it into capcom fighting jam i think. then again i haven’t played it.
Concerning Demitri, his sprite now appears to have a huge red aura around it. He didn’t have that before, so his sprite has been tweaked.
Felicia’s sprite, on the other hand, looks the same.
Characters definitely appear to be locked into specific “grooves” depending on game of origin. So if ylou play two characters from two different games (e.g. ST Ryu and 3S Chun), super meter usage will be different when/if you switch characters.
We don’t know for certain, but this could effectively erase all meter management for disparate-origin characters, unless they work out a system whereby meter carries over even when the meters aren’t the same. It’s also possible that this could be part of team strategy - if you pick two characters of similar orign, they get to share meter. But if you choose two different characters, no meter is carried across from one character to another.
And I still say, if this game ends upw ith nothing but recycled sprites, it’ll need an MvC2-sized cast for it to succeed.
re: Chun-Li and Sf3
Fact: A little after they released Second Impact, nearly two years before Third Strike was released, Capcom announced they were going to make a 3rd iteration of the Sf3 series, which would be the last in that series. And what was the big feature of this supposed Third Impact? They were bringing Chun-Li back. They even had a 2I-style win portrait of hers (that never got used of course since they redid the whole win screen). So yeah, the whole idea behind Third Strike was much “BRING CHUN-LI BACK”.
Though you have to admit. Third Strike was one of the better incarnations of the game, not just competitively but artistically as well. Everything from the music down to sound recording to the game itself its a decent game, its paradigm is different in Japan as there is more competition . I’d say at least in presentation its Capcom’s greatest work. Shame it’ll never happen since Naomi hardware make it convenient to make “microwave” games.
That’s called a palette swap. Normally, Demitri’s aura is yellowish orange. Pick a different color for him, and the aura changes too. In Darkstalkers 3 for PSX, I used to do a color edit of him that was all black except for the aura.
Hmm I can confirm 4 types of fighting games among the 5.
Street Fighter
Dalkstalkers
Warzord (SP?_
Capcom Fighting Allstars (Ingrid is in it. And I think this is her only appearance if I’m correct…)
I wonder if Tessa/Tabasa will make it to this game as well like SvC:C.
are the five i believe…which means that there are MORE than 5 games that characters are coming from, because of ingrid…hmmm…
Did anyone film the E3 video for Fighting Jam and post it somewhere? Capcom had it on the big screen and it was playing like every 40 minutes. If it’s already been done, cool. If not, I can probably encode it and u/l it somewhere.
He always had the aura. Originaly it flashed from dark orange to light orange every other frame, it was always there during the majority of his attacks. It deosn’t appear to be edited at all other then the color(which may just be an alternate). I don’t think they changed him at all.
The colors the aura flashed depended on the color you chose for him. I’ve seen sky blue, dark blue, orange, yellow, green, magenta, purple, red, and pink. This is playing Nightwarriors for saturn.
You think THAT’s bad? Notice how Capcom has this silly fixation on “evil” characters. Wow…just give them Akuma’s move properties and supers…NEW CHARACTER!! At least SNK did it RIGHT (New Face Team). I’m betting Akuma and Evil Ryu’s over-used asses show up in THIS one, too. :bluu:
I betting CAP is going to put in a RE game. They can’t let those jill and tyrant sprites go to waste!!
peace
SKJ
Don’t bother. It’s up on a few sites.
You’re right. Capcom does use those characters too much. Evil Ryu, Evil Akuma.
Sunburned Sakura from MvC2, LOL. They could make a Sunburned Ken too, all they would need is the palette from his 3S color that made him look sunburned. There, two new characters with the only difference being their fireballs and palette. Whee!! :bluu:
I really hated how they were considered seperate characters in CvS2. If anything, the “secret” characters in that game shoulda been from Rival Schools or Darkstalkers, since only 1 character from each of those games made it in. But no, they just added the “Evil” versions of the same friggin characters and called them seperate/secret characters. :bluu:
Just look at the official site for all information currently available.
http://www.capcom.co.jp/fighting_jam/
That’s seriously all we can confirm about the game.
With over 20 characters in the game I guess that each game will have 2 more hidden characters.
Darkstalkers: Morrgin for sure, she’s in every thing.
Wizard: I hope Tabasa is in the game, I like her.
And who knows which Street Fighter characters will be hidden.
just read below
I gotta agree about the sprite thing. Sure, it doesn’t affect the game at all, but it’ll affect the future games that come out. If graphic whore scrubs buy the game, that means more/better games from Capcom, and maybe after a while they’ll get to the point where they can keep both sides of the gaming world happy.
Look at Guilty Gear. I think their fans might be on to something when they say that Capcom and SNK have a lot to learn from them. The animation’s choppy as hell, and it’s definitely an example of the system balancing the characters, but the sprites and designs by themselves look a lot crisper and fresher than any other 2D fighter out right now. I know someone’s gonna say Third Strike is better looking, and I kinda agree, but that’s more of how fluid the animation is. If you compare the designs and sprites, you’ll find that Third Strike is kinda plain.
And some continuity would be nice too. CVS2 had solid re-designs like Eagle and Rugal next to Morrigan’s now 10-year-old sprite. That makes the game look bad.
Just my two cents.
