Shouldn’t you be busy serving drinks in the Hilton hotel out there in Barbados? You have NO time to be saying such things.
Hell, how about this: You save up your tips from the bar, right? You book a flight and come to EVO2k7, right? You come spouting your shit about ST on PS2 not being arcade perfect and ST on PS1 being arcade perfect, right? Ok. You walk up to Watson or any other random ST player. You grab your PS1 and bring your ST. You money match them in BOTH versions and then when you lose, will you shut the fuck up already about ST on PS2 NOT being arcade perfect. It’s the only real good solution.
And who the fuck are you anyway? Guilers sounds like the bar you serve drinks at the Hilton.
You prefer the PS1 version based on some clips you’ve seen on YouTube and from what you remember from however far back. You discredit “a guy named watson” (who only happens to have been playing this game since it came out back in '91) by taking his comments and putting your own unique spin on them. And finally, you insult nearly everyone in this thread (which I assume includes the game’s producer, since he posts here as well) by calling them morons for not seeing things the way you do.
I’m not even going to go into the numerous examples I could provide of why this version of ST is arcade emulation and not a port, because frankly, I believe that you’re blatantly trolling this board just to get a rise out of people. Either that, or you’re just tragically misinformed. You prefer the PS1 version… … …so go play it. But stop trying to convince everyone else here to see things your way because it’s not going to happen.
On a more serious note, we played a nice 6 hour set of versus mode on the PS2 last night. First off, thanks Sirlin! It’s really nice having a an arcade-perfect version to play. Being able to do Vega’s wall dives again reliably was fun :lovin:
We did get the lockup on the stats screen twice during the night. And there was one round where the music was all jacked up. There was a high-ish pitch tone throughout that whole round. Not sure what was up with that. All in all, the bugs are slightly annoying, but not a real big deal.
LOL. Do you fuck dudes? CAuse you’re acting really gay. CCC2 is the closest thing ANYONE has to arcade perfect. As far as gameplay goes it IS perfect (so far.) That’s what it’s about. It’s not like OMGZZZ!!! I CANnt pick Shin akuma like my and the sound is shitty. FUUUUUCK
I have the the xbox version. There is most definitly a versus mode. I played the versus mode alot till it froze up. Since then I have been playing the arcade mode.
I played this a while ago and was impressed at first with the look and presentation of the game, I have to say I really enjoyed the tutorial that sirlin added.
The only fault in the tutorial was at the end when sirlin said, Thanks for playing, instead of thanks for watching.
Ok lets talk about the game.
My analysis will be a little sketchy because i didn`t really get to test anything or compare with the actual cps2 board.
First of all the game seemed really slow, it didnt seem like the arcade speed at all. It was set on turbo 3. Now i play at the arcade all the time but it just didnt feel like it was the arcade version. The looks was perfect, the sound was perfect, But feel of the game was off and the speed was almost confusing. Because at times while playing it seemed like it was fast one minute and slow the next, it was almost as if inbetween the rounds the speed was changing. Kind of like playing when your drunk.
The inputs almost felt sluggish like you have when your playing on an emulator. But it seemed to get better as i played more. Combo timing was a little off, I couldn`t do lk, lk super with ryu or any standard combos consistantly. My friends also complained that while playing and doing combos the characters got pushed back more than usual. Like example Bison doing standing lk, lk, cr mp, super, it seemed like the character was being pushed to far away and the medium punch was not always connecting because the character was to far away.
I only played it for about an hour and didn`t really get to test much, i think the only way to compare is hook up the cps2 board and run both versions side by side and play test with a bunch of experts who really know what there talking about.
Then once you find out whats wrong with it, take it back and fix it or release it again in capcom classics collection 3.
But overall as long as there isnt any input lag or sluggishness in the controls i dont see why it can`t be the standard for tournaments.
Actually… the high pitch in Super Turbo seems right to me. Both Super and Super Turbo were at least one of the first if not the first games to use Q Sound, and for some reason everything and everyone sounds like their testicles shrunk and sucked up into their bellies (Ken and Guile in particular).
As far as music goes… I haven’t really come across the sound issues other than the voice sample glitches in training. I guess if you compare side by side with AE music player you could hear the differences?
Quick question. How do you select green blanka? I have pressed every button but cant find the og green guy. Did they remove that color edit in super turbo?
You have to play as Blanka’s “old” version. :bluu:
With the cursor on Blanka, hit jab then quickly tap right once then 3X to the left and hit jab again. (You could also feverishly shake left/right real fast for the input )
Blanka will then switch to his classic green color.
The original WW colors for characters are only available as the default “old” selection.
O.Blanka doesn’t have the ability to tech throws. He doesn’t have the new stuff that ST Blanka has like his :df::hp: slide, his forward/backward dashes and his super.
Only reason to play him is to see him in his original green color. heh heh. :razzy:
I was playing Zangief vs. CPU Guile and Chun’s bird kick voice sound effect played when Guile interrupted one of my spinning pile drivers… Is this an old glitch?
Well, now everyone try to close his eyes… take a long breath, and think at this:
Ps2 - about 130 $ +
memory card - about 25 $ +
CCC2 - 20 $
2 Hory Real Arcade Pro - about 80x2= 160$
= 335$ - price to play a glitched version of SSF2T
then
cps2 SSF2T B-board - about 90$ +
cps2 A board - about 45$ +
building a supergun with 2 hi-quality stick based on Razoola site - about 70 $
= about 205$ to get the real SSF2T!!
Well, ok this is a bit nonsense cause almost everyone has a ps2, memory… and so for almost everyone is cheaper to get CCC2 instead of cps2…
…but anyway when we made these 30-pages topic about a perfect or non-perfect port, i think we miss the point to find the best way to get the best SSF2T
well, i know that building a supergun is a little more complex than enter in a shop and buy a console, but, come on!, we’re not on gamefaq, we’re on Shoryuken, a place for HARDCORE beu gamers!
Granted there are some people that will agree with you(me being one of them). BUT, like you said, it’s a lot cheaper because everyone has a PS2 already. Plus, you have to take into account that EVO works very differently. Are you really gonna haul around all that equipment to a tourney out West KNOWING that there are enough copies of the game to go around?
The game is still arcade perfect on the PS2. It’s mainly the vs. mode really. Convenience takes prescedence in an issue such as this one. I’d rather carry just my custom stick rather than having to lug around huge pieces of equipment.
Loads of effort, you’ve underestimated how much ST goes for on ePay, risk of suiciding boards, and some electronics knowhow needed.
Don’t get me wrong. I own ST on CPS2 and have it in a real arcade cabinet, and it rocks. (See the setup here). But it sure as hell isn’t the plug-and-play solution most gamers want, nor is it the version that will be used at Evo in years to come.
