Capcom Classics Collection 2 (f/ arcade perfect ST)

I know this is a bit off-topic, but before this thread gets much further into bugs and such, I want to thank Sirlin not just for ST, but for CCC2 as a whole.

Seriously, I didn’t think there was any way I’d appreciate the second volume more than the first, but I’ll be damned if that isn’t the case here. It’s the only PS2 game I’m playing nowadays, which is sort of ironic when you consider all the hype and frenzy over the next generation console wars. I guess the bottom line is that video games are supposed to be fun, and that is exactly what CCC2 delivers.

Like everyone else here, I bought this disc mainly for ST (and the morbid curiosity that is SF1), but there are so many other great games on this disc – Captain Commando, Knights of the Round, King of the Dragons and Magic Sword just to name a few – that are almost as entertaining. Even some of the lesser known games (Eco Fighters comes to mind) are nice surprises.

So yeah, I know this disc is all about arcade-perfect ST (at least for the SRK community), but at the same time I think the quality of the collection as a whole is at least worth a mention. Thumbs up Sirlin, here’s hoping Capcom has enough gems left in their basket to produce a third collection.

Completly in agreement with Bill Wood, My congratulations to Sirlin and his team. Now I have a question about CCC2 specifically ST, I read in some other thread that somebody claimed to have seen a T.Hawk prototype sketch on the bonuses of ST, I have unlocked the art (by selecting O.Sagat) and that prototype is nowhere to be seen. Is there some other kind of “secret” art or something? Thanks in advance.

Also sometimes the stage music doubles up. You hear the music with the correct timing but the game at a later point loads up the track a second time and plays it.

Not that it really matters, but Gief’s and Thawks throws cause severe slowdown when using the easy special code. No biggie, since it is cheap anyway.

thank you he obviously doesn’t know what the hell he is talking about digital eclipse did a bad job of the street fighters in classics i you can not change your character or anything else for that matter in trainig mode with out resseting the entire game also the speed at which tose games play at are way to slow then whn you pay them in the deluxe mode the speed above for stars is just way to fast. I have seen ps1 collection ST being played on youtube and it looks the best of any version of ST i have ever seen the characters are bigger in terms of with and the games menu setup is wonderful capcom did a great job with this title just that i think people are to blind to see it and worrying about a now loading screen that lasts 3 seconds

What? You’re basing your opinion off something you saw on YouTube? Have you ever even played the PS1 version and compared it to the arcade version?

This is about arcade perfect gameplay and absolutely nothing else. Almost doesn’t count.

damn i’ve been playing the xbox version and it seems fine so far.

my only problem with the game is when you configure the buttons. It seems like once you configure the buttons, the configuration is for both 1p and 2p side. If this is right then wouldn;t there be a problem say one person was using hrap1 and the other is using hrap2?

question…is a Strider the game a form of protest? or am i reading too much into the game…

uhm, 1p pauses and configures controls and finishes, then 2p pauses and does his. done

Is the XBOX version arcade perfect as well? It’s not exactly the same as the PS2 version is it? Because I’ve heard these people talking about a “versus” mode. Which definately is not on the XBOX version. Just “Start Game” and “Training” on that one.

theres a glitch with t.hawk that will affect hawk users. i was using hawk in traing mode against boxer and once in a while when i do 360 with boxer in the corner he lands standing up. Someone else might wanna give it a try.

That only happens in Training mode and it occurs with all characters randomly when they are thrown.

Arcade mode, aside from some sound fowl ups is arcade perfect.

What do you mean?

I think he means the Orwellian theme that the game is based on. It is a very 1984ish game, yes, but I wouldn’t say it is a game protesting any higher power, either in the gaming market or politics.

They brought back the hit-a-button-to-pick-your-config.

THEY BROUGHT IT BACK!

IT’S BACK!!!

They’ve consistently made it harder and more of a pain in the ass to change your buttons through the ages. NO MORE!

IT’S BACK!

<3 Capcom

I have also played it i had the game a long time ago when it first came out oh yeah i just received my copy of ccc2 and i have to say that it is the worst street fighter i have ever played. the sound cuts in and out in training and verses mode
the game when played at speed three speeds up and slows down and you people gripe about the ps1 version you are all crazy.I read on an earlier discussion about ps 1 super t and some guy named watson was saying ps1 verion is crap because of some instance when his apponent threw a feirce punch at him and he was unable to block it enough said:confused:

It is amazing how so many people are finding things wrong with this game but are still saying it is arcade perfect morons this game is garbage hust like cc1 if more so and none of the old games are arcade perfect more like super nes perfect

Either you’re not reading or you just don’t understand. You’re hopeless.

That only happens in training mode and only when the opponent has no more life, in arcade mode it’s fine.
