Capcom Classics Collection 2 (f/ arcade perfect ST)

Thats rubbish. Apart from the loading they were very good. Why do you think they are terrible?

There is approximately a 0% chance that HSF2 will continue to be a major game. The entire pitch for HSF2 was ‘it’s what we’re going to do until ST comes out’.

If you want to review the ps1 on st issue it was discussed at length post evo2k5, here’s one thread: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=97460

Hey FMJ, serious question. Peeps seem to have good and bad things to say about this port. Unfortunately I won’t be able to play it till the UK release (FEB) so I have no idea how it plays. So, right now, do you think this could be a proper replacement for Hyper at EVO?

This happened with a friend and I yesterday. I was Sagat and he was Ryu. He did f+HP and we heard Cammy doing her qcf+K. We were playing the PS2 version.

I’m not one myself to be able to look at ST and say if it’s frame perfect or all that, so if that is the question I don’t have a great answer. I do know it’s emulated, so i don’t see how there could be many (non-sound) glitches in arcade mode, and all the people that have been playing it are saying good things overall.

The important thing is, what happens in arcade mode? and what is there outside of sound glitches? We know that vs and training had to be hacked in, so i would expect small glitches there. I’ll look around and see if I see any complaints that may cause problems in arcade mode, but i don’t remember seeing any.

If you consider the options (DC,PS1,HSF2), i don’t think there’s a lot of choice… unless ST has a glitch where it locks up everytime you throw a fireball, it’ll probably be the best port, and therefore a lock for console tournaments.

After playing arcade mode yesterday, I must say, none of the problems from the vs. mode are existant in the arcade mode. So, that would make the vs. mode and training mode the sections of the game with the sound glitches. Although, the music slowdown is still there, it’s barely noticable after you lock in and concentrate on your match. So, I’m guessing this is the route I’ll be going with when I play people in ST.

Okay, not Super Turbo related news.

I was playing Varth today just for the heck of it, I hear “SHORYUKEN!!”. Is that normal?

Yes.

Really.

Arcade mode has the sound glitches. I’ve only played in Arcade mode so far, haven’t even touched Versus, and I’ve gotten plenty of sound problems. Last time I played DeeJay’s max out was doing T Hawk’s typhoon “mmmmMMMMMM!” sound effect and the music was slowing down a lot on Cammy’s stage, for example. I’ve never had problems other than with the sound and music, though, so it’s definitely not gamebreaking.

Explain.

Someone create a clear, concise bug list. Here’s all I’m getting so far from this thread:

*Sometimes the game locks up after the stats screen in versus mode (the screen showing how many wins each character has)
*Sometimes the sound of cammy’s “thrust kick,” fei long’s (which move?), or balrog’s numbers (such as “FIVE!” from his turn-punch move) are played even when those characters are not in the match. Happens in arcade, versus, and training(?)
*In training mode, when a character is thrown at zero health he does his death scream.
*In trainng mode, some moves done while a character is at zero health cause wrong reactions to the dummy (such as Honda’s ochio throw sometimes).

What else? If you give a very specific clear list (quickly) then maybe something can be fixed for the Europe version. I’m especially interested in hearing about sound issues that can be reproduced and pinpointed. I’m also curious what complaints there are with versus mode, other than the occasional lockup mentioned in the bullet point above (which is not during gameplay).

Last note to whoever mentioned alpha anthology. I don’t think that is an emulation at all, but a port. I don’t see how it would have been useful to us at all, and it was only released when we were very far into development anyway. We emulated Q-sound from scratch, as far as I know.

If someone wants to add some sections feel free

Yeah I’m adding some stuff.

I’ve only had this happen once, but while preparing to fight a CPU opponent, at the Matchup (Vs.) Screen, a second player jumped in on the second controller. As soon as “Here Comes A New Challenger!” popped up, the names on the Matchup Screen (Balrog and T.Hawk for what it’s worth) started flickering and trading position back and forth like crazy. Note that the portraits didn’t flicker, only the names.

Business as usual after that little hiccup.

I apparently missed something because my ****ing links to the tutorial videos from CCC2 have been deleted. GG mods.

Just wanted everyone to know that we used PS2 Capcom Classics 2 for the Super Turbo tournament at Northeast Championships 7 in Philly yesterday and we did not have one glitch or problem. We played in Arcade mode since it reportdly has less glitches and the winner can’t change characters.

Link to this or something.

I’ve had a few glitches occur in arcade mode.

Once last night I had T. Hawk’s stage music playing twice at once, one song a bit behind the other.

I’ve also had a few one-frame graphical glitches. Usually the entire screen being corrupt for a few frames (most likely only one). This has happened with both progressive and interlace modes.

For both bugs I was playing as Vega (claw). Can’t really remember more than that Sirlin, sorry.

VERY IMPORTANT ABOUT THE EUROPE VERSION:

Please!! remember to include 60Hz mode and progressive scan mode!

Europe version of CCC1 has only 50Hz and seems like slowdown when the game scrolls! :frowning:
