Off next thursday so I will be up there. Looking forward to MK9 and Super. Whats the word on the tournament next week?
Tourney is up to u guys. What do u want to play?
fighting streets
what kyle said. lets punch some roads, kick some avenue.
I like turtles.
Speaking of turtles. We had a 4 man (errr… turtle…) playthrough of Turtles in Time last week. It was a whole load of fun. Which brings me to my next line of business. How many people would want to have a casual night? You know, any game, any system available. We can work on speed runs, or maybe completing that game that used to kick your ass as a kid… Let me know who’s interested, and on what nights you’re available.
Now, as far as the tourney goes. Looks like we are going to bring in SSFIVAE with some style. This weeks $1 tourney will be SSFIV. Basically same rules as the MK tourney so I won’t post it again. Obviously, since I said I won’t say it again. Now, I’m going to look to be adding these weekly tourneys and monthly (when we get them started) on the tournament page so we can start bring in more interest. So… what should we name our weekly tourneys? I leave it to you guys, but make it catchy!
Lastly, I don’t think all of you have noticed yet, but I’m trying to take our group pretty serious. I think we have a lot of talent in our group and bringing fresh faces by making us the place to be will only improve us. Invite EVERYONE with even a passing interest. It supports us, and gets those a bit sheepish interested in something they normally would ignore. I’m looking to stream our tournaments some day but we can only do that if we grow our community. I am in desperate need of your help gentleman. Alright guys, that’s all I got for now.
btw: shout outs to David for really stepping his game in every game we play. Easily the most improved player in our group
I only really play fighting games anymore so casual game night isnt for me haha. I’d still come out though
Only three days remain to pre-register for Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament 7, being held May 27th through 29th in Chicago IL. Those that pre-register will save money, and will have early access to their pool assignments! Thats right, early next week, you’ll be able to check your pool assignments online to see what time you play, who is in your pool, and to make sure that everything was entered correctly on our end (no missing games, no overlapping pools).
Head over to the website to register, and we’ll see you in a week and a half in Chicago!
Dead thread is dead.
@Kyle: Ill be trading in Brink on 360 and getting it for PC tomorrow. PC was the way to go from the beginning, it seems :(. There goes my lv20 character down the drain.
Umm…I may have a way to get a level 20 character in 2 hours while afk which you seem entitled to use, given the circumstances :razzy:
That sounds delightful. I’ll still need to do the challenges first though, since they scale to your level and get near impossible once u level up. Ughghhhhhh
Edit: Game installed, challenges completed, hook me up with that intel Kyle!
Start your own custom game with min team # at 0 and max team # at 1 on Resort. Open the console(ctrl+alt+~ )and enter “si_scriptcontrolledtimelimit 0” and “si_timelimit 0”. Go soldier on resistance and plant the bomb. After you it explodes and you move to the next section, go engineer, set your objective to “guard the bridge”, and then open the console and enter “timescale 10”.
This will make the game move to times faster…so then you just push along the escort until it hits the bridge, then you just sit next to the bridge and the bot and rack up points. You get points for defending the bot and defending the bridge and stuff.
after im done with this, is there any settings that need to be changed back?
nope, everything is serverside so after you close your match then they’re essentially reset. Umm, you can use the command “endgame” to do the obvious, after you’ve racked up your 30k xp
Nice, I’m at 20k ATM. ALMOST THERE! I added u on Steam btw.
Went from 16 people to 3. Thanks guys.
I didn’t make it b/c no one there except Dave wants to take MK seriously, and that’s the only fighter I want to play right now. Plus, Thursday nights generally aren’t good for me anyways.
Kyle: Lv20 acquired, thank you good sir. I have Medic/Engineer fully specc’d out, so lets DO THIS THING! Accept my request on Steam and let me know when you can play.
Let’s see… Dave, Dustin plays it, I finally had a chance to try it tonight. Everyone except for like 2 people participated in the tourney last week. There’s at least 6 people trying to enjoy it. The main reason people don’t play it is because we typically have… one… two set ups. I get the work situation so that’s not my problem. Guys my problem is that if u want people to play your game, bring it. Don’t try to make it seem like its my fault that your game isn’t represented. I am doing all the legwork and planning and everything else. All you have to do is show up, or let me know at least so I’m not sitting at FandH for a freaking hour looking like an asshole. Want to set up a monthly tournament for all our games but I’m not going to do anything if I don’t even have the support from the people in our community. Seriously man, don’t even try to justify not coming by making me seem like I’m the one with the problem.
It’s not your fault at all dude. It’s no ones fault. Thursdays aren’t generally a good night for me bc it’s one of the only nights my wife doesn’t work late, so we actually get to eat dinner together and hang out. As far as MK goes, I usually do bring it, but the reason I say no one is taking it serious except Dave is simple:
Other than Thursdays, no one ever is interested in getting together to level up and learn. I have sent out open invitations to my house on many separate occasions, and after almost never getting a response, I got frustrated and stopped. There’s definitely time to learn during casuals on Thursday, but the REAL time to do that is smaller sessions where u can really hit the lab and try stuff out. Thursdays can be when you apply the knowledge.
What I’m trying to say is this:
It’s fine if y’all don’t want to be a force in this state in any game, I know outside of summer and winter break, I myself can’t dedicate the time to it. But if any of you DO have that drive to become better in any given game, you can find the time to stop playing crappy online, get together with people outside of our big gatherings on Thursday, and level up. Otherwise, hate to say it, but Canton will never go anywhere on a competitive level. It’s the hard truth.
Dustin, I want to support you in this venue and all of the hard work you’ve done, and any Thursday that Im free, that’s the first place I’ll be. You are doing your part big time dude, mad respect.
