The thing is, you have to consider gameplay to some degree, its just about the only information we have.
Especially for someone like Arthur.
i think the best thing to do would be to find out where arthur would be story wise, and than find out where he would be game mechanic wise. and then maybe average them out. V Joe has a similar problem, albeit not to the same degree. Playing his hardest difficulty allows him to pretty much get 2 shotted by minibosses and high level hencemen as well.

Hahaha this thread is downgrading further into stupidity. If you take gameplay feats into consideration. Wolverines claws don’t even rip peoples clothes! Galactus can be beatup physically by captain america, just about everyone can take bullets to the FACE and taunt you afterwards.
theres a difference between gameplay feats of a guy who has almost 100 years of canonical comic book experiences to draw conclusions from and another character than only has 3 super nintendo video games
Because we have nothing to go on otherwise? All you can say about Arthur either way is what he has in his games… unless there’s the Ghosts&Goblins novel out there somewhere 
The way I see it, Arthur is a human, therefore he can probably be killed by most things humans are killed by without some kind of protection. I was mainly responding to Karnov talking about how Arthur would die in one hit to a Zombie whereas the same could be said for Chris and any other human who doesn’t have a healing factor or durability. In the games Chris can take a Zombie chomping through his neck and run around to tell the tale, whereas realistically, not only would that probably kill him instantly but it would pass the virus onto him and kill him later.
Alright, setting aside how frail Arthur is in-game, going by what he has done across Ghosts n Goblins, Ghouls n Ghosts, and Super Ghouls n Ghosts he still demonstrates skill that totally transcends his otherwise human restrictions.
1.) He goes through Hell, sometimes twice (like in Ghosts n Goblins), defeating everything in his path.
2.) He fights enemies that could quite reasonably instantly kill humans, and in their home realm. Arthur isn’t the only human who would die instantly if Astaroth or Lucifer decided to vomit fire on them.
3.) He wins consistently against demigod enemies, though he often needs the aid of some magical armor (Holy Shield) or weapon (Goddess Bracelet) to finally defeat the villain. Still, enemies he has defeated include Lucifer, Loki, Astaroth and arguably Beelzebub.
In Ghouls n Ghosts, the ending declares that after Ghosts n Goblins he researched and placed all kinds of magical equipment to help him in the event of another battle (which came to be, in Ghouls n Ghosts), so it’s hard to tell just how great his mastery of magics is. And certainly, he needs the help of divinely blessed artifacts in order to put away some of the big bads, but they are clearly not “I win” buttons; he still has to fight for his life in order to prevail. The sheer number of times he’s put Lucifer away (no less than 3) should already set him far, far apart from most of the rest of the Capcom cast.
Even if some kind of averaging approach were to be taken to Arthur, the result would still be off the scale of human; 1 plus infinity divided by 2 is still infinity.
If you have my experience from being a kid, he just dies over and over and over again and wastes a bunch of quarters.
