I know it’s early, but if anyone planning on coming with a team to participate in the exhibition tournaments, please let us know as soon as you can so we can get the details sorted out.
I assume Edmonton will want in on this, and maybe Vancouver as well?
Well I don’t know who Edmontons team caption is. You guys may want to start a new ranbats for Calgary, since the 5 vs 5 is both mvc 3 and SSf4 (has to be same members) we will have to average the points out some how.
Why must the team be the same for both games? There will be some people on there who are on because they are amazing at one, but not on the other. I think it would dilute the product IMO
^ To make it interesting! Something to consider when building your team… Do you want that “amazing” guy on your team, if he’s not so good at the other game? If so, where does he go in your order? Hrmmm???
This is just a fun exhibition anyway, it doesn’t even have an entry fee!
Lapchi: I figure for our local Calgary team, if we want to do ranbats for it, we would have SSF4 ranbats until MvC3 comes out, and then we have MvC3 ranbats until the event… Add up the points, players with most points make the team?

Thats a lot of drama dude, I remember we 5 qualifiers every week for the 2009 Calgary Cup 5 vs 5. At the end it was the same people on the Ranbats. You guys can talk to John or Vesper on it lol.
We will have to do a round robin to figure out who’s on the 5v5 as some people have leveled up alot and deserve a shot at the team. As for MvC3, i think we should allow different teams as some people who play sf4 might not even play that game.
I’m not sure why you guys are stressing about this? The chance for specialists to shine is already there, in the teams and singles tournaments. The whole point of the exhibtion is to see who can produce the most well rounded team for both games! It also throws some uncertanty into the mix, and forces the teams to make some rather big decisions on deciding members and order… Just a quirky wrench thrown in there to spice it up a bit and make the outcome especially hard to predict!
We’re in the same boat too don’t forget! I can’t think of anyone in calgary who even comes close to edmonton in terms of mvc2 skill, so i think we may even be the underdogs here… But then again, who’s to say that MVC3 will even be much similar?
I’m just not getting why this is even a problem? What’s the worst that could happen? It’s free, so it’s not like you’re risking anything…
If we win it, I’ll buy you guys drinks at the afterparty?

Pick the top 5 MvC3 players, if anyone is good at SSF4 then lucky us

Personally, I’d rather just see the best that each city has to offer for both teams rather then trying to create a well rounded team.
Lets get some input for Team Calgary on Weds and go from there.
